A wonderful place to stay for location and views!

The location was perfect, right in the middle of Hallstatt. The property was very clean and the staff were wonderful. Our view of the lake was beautiful. The only improvement I would make is some type of shelf in the shower for your personal items as there is very little floor space. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Pension Hallberg!

We would "absolutely" stay here once again ...... you should book it.

We loved staying here. Maria was our host and we cannot say enough good things about her. The directions to get your key, etc. were very clear and easy to do. The view is spectacular and the location near the "heart" of the city was really great. We had fun doing a boat tour around the lake where the captain gave us some really great information about Hallstatt, etc.

Maybe the only thing is the parking lot and shuttle ..... it did work well and our driver was very, very nice to us. We had a little trouble finding restaurants that were open at the time being the end of September.

Like living in a fairy tale.

The view. Amazing.

Husband spent several minutes cleaning cobwebs off the ceiling. With toilet paper as there was no broom. And a fan would have been nice but it did finally cool off after we came back from dinner.

A picture perfect view

This was in my opinion the perfect location in Hallstatt and the best view from the room. The room was equipped with electric stove, sink and plenty of items to cook dinner. Everything was thought of and the room exceeded our expectations. The host communicated well and the room was very large and comfortable. Highly recommend. Such a magical time sitting at the window taking in the view

Best of Hallstatt

We had an amazing stay here! The owner and Tamara are truly wonderful and made us feel so welcome. The property is located right in the heart of Hallstatt, beautiful, spotless, and so comfortable. Our studio had everything we needed, including a small cooking area. We didn’t cook meals but it was perfect for making coffee. What really stood out was the generosity of the hosts, they provided coffee, fruits, even pasta and little food items available for guests, something I haven’t seen in other properties. Such a thoughtful touch. Hallstatt itself is breathtaking but also quite crowded due to its popularity. In my opinion, a one-night stay or a day visit is perfect to experience it fully. We traveled with kids and still managed to enjoy every moment thanks to this lovely accommodation. Overall, a true gem, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay! 🌸

An accommodation with nice view of the lake

The Pension was located in the main street and well-marked, very easy to locate. We were in Room 1 which was spacious and with a nice view of the lake. The staff Maria was very helpful and cheerful. She assisted us with the check-in as the information given was not very clear. The Pension did not provide breakfast, but the presence of a pantry with cooking stove and the necessary facilities made it easy for us to prepare our meal. A bonus - in addition to tea and coffee in the public areas, guests are welcome to share the pastry and other cooking stuff in the cupboards in the public area.

Not really not like, just consider that the infomation provided for self check-in could be clearer. It just stated safe number and key number. Better if more details are given, e.g. where the safe is, the key number is the room number. We were fortunate to have Maria's help. For another couple who checked in late in the evening, they appeared at a loss. We happened to go for a walk and were able to help.

Perfect stay in Hallstatt

Pension Hallberg is an absolute gem! Our stay was fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough. The pension itself is tastefully decorated and kept incredibly clean and tidy. Our room was a perfect retreat, and the view of the lake from our window was simply amazing. A huge bonus is having access to cooking facilities, crockery, and cutlery if you want to avoid the higher prices of eating out in Hallstatt. The self-check-in process was a breeze. The host provided clear and detailed communication on how to get our keys, when to check in, and where to drop them off when we left. It was a seamless and stress-free experience from start to finish. This is a wonderful option for anyone visiting Hallstatt!

Stunning veins great location beautiful place to stay. Loved the coffee station outside. Staff were so lovely and friendly very warm welcome. Room was so comfortable, kitchen was perfect for a few days stay. And again STUNNING views of the lake. Short walk to the salt mine close to cafes and shops. 100% will be coming back

Near perfect Halstatt stay

The location and view are amazing with very comfortable beds. The host was lovely to deal with and communication was very good. Good big rooms with lots of space. One of our rooms had a bath which was a nice bonus. The decor and furniture was well thought out and the rooms had basic cooking facilities if needed.

The lack of air-conditioning meant it was quite a hot stay, despite the best efforts of the fans in the rooms.

A perfect stay!

The property was idyllic. We had rooms with a dreamy lakeside view. All the staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Bowls of apples were put out for the taking. Such a nice touch. We couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely stay here again!

Spectacular views, lovely room, and our kind, cheerful hostess, Tamara, made this a wonderful stay.

The entire place was charming and the view out of our window was breathtaking. The room was clean, very comfortable and arranged in a way that made the best use of the space. The decorative touches were very inviting. We appreciated the elevator (lift) that made it easy to reach our room on the upper floor. It was also very thoughtful to provide umbrellas for getting around in the rain.

The living experience is highly satisfactory.

The location of the hotel is excellent. As soon as you open the window, you can see the beautiful lake and the exquisite house buildings. There is a workbench in the room, equipped with an induction cooker. There are many plates, bowls, pots, forks, spoons and cups in the drawer below. The bar outside is also equipped with seasonings, and there are even coffee supplies. It's so considerate. Thank you！

Highly recommend this place for a incredible view of the beautiful Hallstatt Lake. We stayed in a lake view room for 3 nights. The location is excellent and close to everything, especially the ferry pier just a 5 minutes walk. The room was cozy, spacious, comfortable and have everything you needed. The host, Tamara is so friendly, helpful and attentive. I'll definitely stay here if I come back to Hallstatt.

The view from our room was the most beautiful we’ve ever experienced. We stayed in Room No. 3, which had a kitchen, a fridge, and an electric kettle. It was very convenient to buy groceries from the supermarket just across the street and prepare simple meals. In the common area, there was also a microwave and a coffee machine available for use. We truly loved our stay here — we felt so lucky and happy that we chose Pension Hallberg.

Home away from home

The accommodation is very central to everything. I had room number one and the view was spectacular. It was equipped with everything, also had a little kitchen which was very suitable to prepare an early breakfast when shops were still closed. It was very cosy and welcoming especially since I was solo travelling. The staff was ready to help immediately.

Perfect and definitely would stay there again if I am going back to Hallstatt.

We booked the lake view room and we loved it, you wake up in the morning, open the window and you’ll see the beauty of Hallstatt (lake, mountain and traditional houses). Location is near the marketplace and museum. We asked to arrive early, since the room were ready, they allowed us to check in an hour early, they are also responsive to messages.

We didn’t find any fault, there were instant coffee available as well if you arrive and need something to drink while resting.

The staff was really friendly and respectful. It is located at the heart of the city center and has amazing views. I traveled solo as a remote worker and I couldn't have a nicer stay. Totally recommended.

The location was phenomenal. Tamara, the manager, was very welcoming and accommodating. The room with a view was amazing, bed comfy and Netflix available. Very clean, spacious and all round nice atmosphere. There is access to a toaster and kettle etc which is very useful. Please be mindful that all places shut in the evening in Hallstatt so grab some snacks and avail of these if required. Be sure to ask them about their Cafe and check it out. 😊
