Very clean rooms and bathroom.
We were ten friends staying there. They have a small lift. When we got in the lift an alarm went off. Didn't know what it was lift opened again and reception said we activated the fire alarm. Thought maybe because we were a lot of people someone pressed a button by mistake. The night after we went out and came back same thing happened again. A lady stormed out and shouted at us. My friend asked if she can maybe explain what we are doing wrong and she actually said "You South Africans cause problems" Needless to say I don't think they like South Africans. Apparently when one stands to near the fire alarm sensor with you room card it activates the alarm! The first night we wanted to go for dinner and asked for a table near the window we were told in no uncertain terms that it is not allowed because we are staying in the hotel we have to eat in the breakfast room and the tables are not allowed to be moved together for our group we all have to sit at our room table as for the breakfast in the morning. So we sat down at our appointed table in this quiet little room to scared to move after fifteen minutes no one came. We walked out to find another hotel to eat. Very peculiar hotel!!

The location was excellent and the room was so spacious and warm. Perfect for the cold December weather. It was also spotless. The shower was fab and so big. I wound have given the room and the location a 10 it’s the one woman who I read about in every review that ruins it
The famous woman I read about in every single review. I felt like I was walking on egg shells around her. She was there at breakfast each morning and I bumped into her a lot when I was coming and going to my room. The look she would give (when I paid good money to stay here for the two nights) and not a simple hello or God forbid a smile. She shooed me away like a cat on check in when I came down to say I couldn’t get the safe working. Told me to go back up to the room like a bold child when I nicely explained the safe wouldn’t work. I was also FaceTiming my Mum to show her the lovely view from my balcony at 8pm at night and she roared up to me to be quiet. My mum could not get over how someone could speak to a guest like this especially when it was still only 8pm and I was talking not roaring. This woman ruins this lovely hotel and it’s a shame as it could really be something amazing

Breakfast had a good variety and maintained well by the staff. Easy access to main bus and train station for access. Good restaurant recommendations by staff. Great shower!
Room was very warm, we had to turn radiator off at night. But this was our experience in hotels throughout our time in Austria

We stayed in the penthouse at Haus Werner overlooking the lake, apartment was huge, massive bathroom and underfloor heating kept us warm. With some cooking facilities we managed to make breakfast and light meals as required.

The building was nice, the room cosy and clean, nothing to say there. Breakfast was also complete.
The hotel should have provided us information on how to park the car previously to our arrival, since you have to park the car outside the village (a 15 minute walk outside the village).
There were no restaurants open in the village to have dinner during the week, so they should also have warned us about that when we arrived. I think they had a restaurant inside the hotel, but it was closed before 7pm and they didn't asked us if we would like to have dinner there when we check in (around 5pm).
But the worst part was the employee who was serving breakfast that was very rude to us since the beginning. I just asked her for an extra mug for my tea and she refused it pointing that I already had one little cup with a bit of coffee I took from my partner (note that they had plenty of mugs available inside the bar).

One of the most amazing places we have stayed - amazing view, excellent staff, great restaurant. Located right on the lake and near the cathedral, we couldn’t have picked a more central location to explore Hallstatt.

Avoid this Place. Rude Racist Person. He threatened me and cancelled my booking at the door. Took my money and threw me out of the hotel. Only because I requested them to keep my small bag so I could go around the town and come back at 3:00 pm to check in. Horrible service.
Avoid!!! I had booked a room at this hotel in Hallstatt, I booked a month in advance and it wasn’t cheap. But I was ok to pay as I would be in the centre of town and I really wanted to stay a night in Halsatt rather than just come for the day and leave. And I was so looking forward to my trip. I arrived there early around 10 am and knocked at their door. They answered very annoyed and said check in is at 3 pm. I said no problem but I’d be happy if I could leave my bag. They said NO, which surprised me a bit, but again I said ok then where can i leave it so as to not lugg it around till 3 pm. They curtly just said tourist information. So I searched for the tourist information which I got to know was closed ( being a Sunday ) I was desperate so I walked back to them and politely told them that the tourist information was closed so I’d really appreciate if I could leave my bag, to which again he said No , No Space. I asked again saying I could just leave it in a safe corner and if he wanted I could pay too.
He looked at me angry and said I cancel your booking you go. To which I Panicked cause I was travelling alone. I said please do not cancel my booking where will I go. He then said leave bag at the entrance but at your own risk of someone takes it we are not responsible. I found that very odd. Grudgingly I left my bag and slowly walked out. But I wasn’t comfortable so I came back and said again please tell me a safe place I can leave my bag for a few hours. At that time I also said, No where on your website or the confirmation email does it say that a guest cannot leave their bag even if they were booked to stay there.
When I said that he stormed to the check in desk. Took out a card with my details on it and took and pen and crossed over it saying your booking is cancelled , you’re a trouble maker and he literally shooed me out of the property. I was in shock. I had never experienced something like that in all my travels around Europe.

The balcony room was lovely, overviewing a little bit of the water. The room was spacious and the location was very good and central.
The room did not have any tea/coffee amenities and for hot water, you need to pay a vending machine on the 2nd floor. The room has plenty of space for a tea and coffee amenities. The do not disturb was on the door, however, I receieved a house keeping knock. There was also works happening in the area which ruined the calmness of sitting in the balcony. The room is not sound proof at all, although it says this in the description. The breakfast in the morning is not great if youre vegetarian. Alot of meat option and only 1 boiled egg is given per guest unless you ask for more. No room for storing luggage also on check out. The check in is strictly 3pm, no availbility earlier.

Good sized rooms with private toilet and shower. Our rooms looks very new, bed and beddings very comfortable.
There’s no available kettle if wanting to boil water for our own coffee and tea.

The room was great and the view was fantastic!
The fact we had to leave our luggage in the lobby. No storage.
The bathrooms on the first floor had a bad odor.
Breakfast is offered but starts at 08:00. The trains leaves after 8:00.

Location. Nice balcony view.
Rudest staff and worst costumer service. Unwelcoming and so unfriendly. Uncomfortable bed mattress and pillows. Very low toilet seat. They sent me a message before the day of check in that we could leave our luggages at 12pm and check in at 3pm, but when we went to leave our luggages at 12pm, they rudely told us to go away and not allowing to leave our luggages. They were so rude and impolite. They told us to leave luggages at the Tourist info office, and they were fully aware it was close on weekends and bank holidays. Walking around with big heavy suitcases and waiting for 3 hours was such a horrible experience and a waste of time. For the amount of money we had paid, we expected a much better service. Our stay in Hallstatt was nearly ruined by this experience. We have travelled and stayed at so many places around the world, and the staff of this hotel were the worse we have ever encountered so far. So unbelievable. They need training to treat their guests better.

I stayed in the deluxe suite with a lake view. This is easily one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
I was checked in by a very nice man who even wheeled my heavy suitcase down the road (in the rain!) to get to my suite. I was not expecting him to do this at all, he was lovely and very and helpful.
The view from the room was absolutely incredible. The room itself was heated, clean and spacious. Slippers and toiletries as well as some chocolates, tea and coffee were also provided which was a lovely addition. I also liked how modern the actual room facilities were.
The TV was actually great too as it had access to regular channels as well as Youtube/ Prime etc if you want to watch something at night.
During my trip, I spent hours outside on the balcony as the view really was stunning. The balcony itself was quite large and overlooking the lake/ mountains.
The breakfast was also good and had everything you would need.
The location was really central so it was very easy to pop in and out during the day. The staff were also friendly.
I really enjoyed my stay and actually was a little sad to leave. I can definitely see myself returning in the future.
Nothing - everything was perfect.

Don't stay at this hotel! The old owner of the place is crazy and they treat you as if they were doing you a favor or hosting you for free!!!
The city is beautiful, but the hotel 😖, in fact the service is TERRIBLE! Believe me, the service is so bad that they spoil your experience completely! The room I stayed in is renovated, beautiful and spacious, but there was no hot water in the shower. We tried to talk to the person in charge, but we were ignored. We called, but the crazy old woman (I think she's the mother of the person responsible for the hotel) hung up the phone in our face. I couldn't even wash my hair, because with 10 degrees outside, taking a cold shower is cowardice! The bedroom door doesn't lock from the inside and they don't respect the do not disturb sign on the door, they enter your room even with it hanging on the door. Breakfast is limited, they don't replenish the breads, there are almost no fruit options, they don't replenish cheese and ham, there is no natural juice, there are no scrambled eggs and no hot dishes. The only thing they give you is a boiled egg (1 egg per person). Depending on the room you stay in, you have to walk down the street to get to the part where breakfast is served, and if it's raining, you'll have to go from under the rain! Coffee starts at 08:00 and ends at 10:00, just as check-in starts at 15:00 and ends at 18:00. Even before 6 pm there is no one to serve you at the hotel reception, in fact, the hotel doesn't even have a reception. There is no double bed linen, there are two single duvets, in a romantic city like this, not having double bed linen is strange to say the least. A tip for the owners: you are not obliged to have a hotel, if you decided to have one, do your job well done, you are being paid for it!
Service. The lady in the breakfast and reception. Terrible. Was not hot water and the staff did not provided us any solution. Avoid this hotel!!!

I appreciated the variety of products and amenities in the apartment — the kitchenware and equipment, the washing machine, and more.
I did not appreciate the misleading information provided to the public.
To reach the booked unit, we had to climb over 40 steep steps — not just 7 as advertised.
The bedroom is located in an attic space — a real safety hazard! Every time you stand up, you hit your head on the sloped ceiling. Waking up in the middle of the night for any reason becomes almost suicidal. The number of times my wife and I hit our heads was terrible.
We were forced to stay in the room for two full days due to severe head injuries. I truly don’t understand how this place was ever granted a license to host guests.
The owners or whoever manages the property are extremely unpleasant people.
We ordered breakfast and arrived at the restaurant one hour before closing time, just as we had been told. What we found was leftover food that should have been thrown away. Instead, we were told, “That’s all there is.”
Disgraceful. I’ve never felt so deceived, hurt, and disappointed as I did after this terrible stay at this so-called hotel.

Great location, beautiful views and very clean.
No complaints but please know that you should be prepared to pay for most things in cash, very few places in Hallstatt accept cards.

Penthouse has beautiful uninterrupted views across the lake, has everything you need to keep warm or cool, a great kitchen for cooking up some simple meals. The elevator to the apartment door was so convenient. Hosts were prompt in answering any questions.

The location was excellent , nice big room and comfy beds also very clean
The hotel is a good 12/14 minute walk away from the property, there is a free shuttle bus which is good , parking cost is €34 for 2 nights.
The lady who served breakfast is not very friendly , our breakfast was included which was nice , but we didn’t have a choice of eggs you got what ever was on that day either boiled or fried , my husband asked for one more coffee one morning and the lady said that will cost €3 and to her word she charged us €3 on our departure ! I think service is so important as we would not return to this hotel because of this !

Great value
Good restaurant
Very authentic Austrian
Breakfast good...if you accept no choice of coffee or eggs. Your coffee is simply Black Coffee & no negotiation. The eggs arrive at your table as a surprise- soft boiled one day, fried with bacon the next. We found it a fun experience.
No Smart TV so no English channels

The large balcony with stunning lake views, the perfect location right in the middle of everything, how spacious everything is: huge and very modern bathroom, lovely kitchen area with lots of natural light, comfortable bed by large window with beautiful views, delicious breakfast!
The washing machine is in the basement and we had to share with other people, so we had to keep going back and forth because it was always being used, and there’s no dryer. But we managed to get two loads of laundry done and we used one of the large drying racks that were provided. We folded it and brought it to our room. So it was not a problem, but it would be nice if another washing machine was available.

Breakfast was delicious and filling. Location was great with a stunning view and everything was easily accessible. Staff at the restaurant was really helpful and friendly both in the morning and in the evening.
Two things that we didn't like that much. The bed wasn't that comfortable and there could have been more eggs at breakfast. Oh, and Kaiserschmarn wasn't warm enough, some parts were cold.

Location is great. Breakfast was also great.
When we arrived at Steeg we discovered that at Hallstatt all means of transport will come to a halt at about 17:30hrs.
We missed the last bus, because of the flight delay we had. We tried to contact the property so that they send us a taxi to pick us up at our own cost. They did not care and were willing to leave us stranded even though the stay was paid in advance. The second time I called them, they did not answer as they recognised our number.
We walked nearby and found Rossie's B & B. After explaining to the owner what had happened, she took pity and decided to help us. She called our property and asked them to send us a taxi. If it wasen't for her help, we would have been left stranded.
Me and my wife were really not happy from the action that the management at Weisses Lamm took on us.
They should be ashamed of their selves.

Big room with balcony and beautiful views to mountain and lake. The beds and pillows were so comfortable.
No kettle in the room. There was a vending machine for hot drinks but it was broken and when we asked the kitchen for hot water we were charged 1 Euro. Seemed petty. Some of the staff could’ve been a little friendlier.

The suite was perfect - right on the lake, close to the main guesthouse and in the middle of town so finding things to see and do was easy. It was lively during the day with daytrippers and quiet at night. We got a wonderful night's sleep. The The suite got plenty of light. Check in and out was easy and it was a short walk to the ferry to catch our train. Breakfast was tasty, coffee and tea were also very good. The breakfast room was clean and nice, food was laid out so it was easy to find. There was a wide variety of foods to eat. Staff was professional, warm, and responsive. We had a great stay.
