Best location right outside Hallstatt

The location is superb. Because Hallstatt does not allow foreign vehicle, this is the closest property outside the gate to the town. Free parking at the property. 5-10 minutes to the lovely town center. You can get early into the town before the crowd tourist. Late check-in through prior communication.

The location is great. The lady at the reception was incredibly nice and helpful.

The price is way too high for the amenities provided- a very uncomfortable bed came without a chiropractor session, which one desperately needs upon walking up. A hot water kettle were provided, but a tea and coffee had to be purchased at an extra price even though the hotel was already very pricey. Additionally, the gestapo like lady at the breakfast area made my husband and I feel so incredibly unwelcome that we actually left the breakfast a half way through and went to a restaurant in town to have a pleasant meal. Firstly, she described the selection of teas to us in such a way that we both felt like illiterate Idiots needing to have the glamorous tea ceremony explicitly explained to us (after we mentioned that we will both have just a cup of coffee). After which, she was walking around the empty breakfast room (40 minutes before a closing time) and was nervously throwing all the plates and cutlery on the tables making so much noise- that we simply left… that one breakfast experience made us feel like we paid for the abuse… not a nice stay in a such beautiful place.

Convenient location with on site parking. Our room was very spacious and loved having 2 balconies.

Shower was really small and awkward. It was quite warm while we were there and there was no air conditioning. However, Pension Bergfried provided us with a great fan that helped.

One night was enough.

The location was great as it was right next to the bus station. It was very easy to find as the facility provided good instruction. Easy check in process.

the room was very small. smaller than what picture showed. Also the room and bedding had moldy funky smell. I was glad I brought my toiletries and towels. It felt more like fancy hostel.

GREAT base for a beautiful town

Pensiion bergfried is right next to the funicular and the hostess pointed me to a nice hike to the falls. The nearest restaurant/bakery is 1oo yards and that much further for other meals. ' room was nice with porch with mountain view. ' . Price much better than right on the lake. And ample parking

Cosy stay with great breakfast

Spacious Clean room with large chairs to relax. Side table at each bedside is useful. Lovely bed with warm blankets. There is also table and chairs at the balcony to enjoy the mountains. Shower has good water pressure and good temperature. Dryer is in bathroom. Tea is provided with kettle. Mini fridge. Beautiful breakfast area with good variety of food. Variety of cheese, bread, fruits to enjoy. Love the warm food of sausages and eggs. Juices of a few kind is lovely. Set up of breakfast is pretty too. Worth to pay and enjoy breakfast at property. A 5-10 min walk from ferry terminal and easy to find. A supermarket just outside for ease of some purchases. Parking is easy Juz outside property. Staff is helpful to ease us to a pleasant stay.

There were constructions outside and our view was spoiled by the presence of cranes in front of mountains.

Great location that’s walking to everything, helpful staff and they take good care of you.

Ventilation could be a little better, maybe some fans. We travelled in June on one of the hottest days, so room was very warm at night. Had to open windows to make it cool, but that took a while.

Rooms were a little run down compared to the reception and downstairs area. Walls are very thin, could hear the neighbours!

It was alright.

The location is great. They also offer breakfast. The room is clean and the bed is really comfortable. At least in our room. And there's a free parking place outside of the pansion.

You can hear everything around you, I couldn't sleep at night because of some people making noise above our room or next to it, not sure. And the room didn't look like the one shown in the picture when I made the reservation. There was a nice apartment shown and it was actually a very different, small room with a balcony.

Everything about this hotel and place is just awesome. Just next to supermarket and near to bus station. Breakfast is superb! The view from balcony is worth to see. Already missing my stay. Go for it.

It is in city centre, perfect location. The room was clean and well maintained. Morning breakfast was also available at extra charge, but was also good. Definitely recommend this place if staying in Hallstatt.

Not the best place for elderly, since there is no lift or staff to help. No flyscreen on the windows, not the best break

The location was great.

My parents are old, there wasn’t lift available or at least someone to help them with the luggage. The pillows were so thin, they didn’t feel like a pillow. There isn’t any flyscreen on windows, which doesn’t make sense, since you’re in the middle of the nature. So either you choose warm room air, or a night in the jungle. The breakfast was okay, it was a little disappointing that everything was low quality store-bought (bread, cake, etc) products, where you expect bio self-made breakfast, since you are staying in Salzburg or in Austria generally.

The location of this hotel is pretty good, just turn left out of the hotel and you can go to the town. The room inside the hotel is quite clean, just a little small, breakfast is also good, and you can park for free
