Gasthof Simony Hallstatt B&B

You cannot beat this location literally right outside the historic town center. It was about 1-2 minute walk from the ferry making traveling with luggage easy. We booked a shared bathroom room but to our surprise were given a private bathroom with lake views. The lake view was absolutely gorgeous.

The room did not have AC or fan, but we traveled with a fan so this wasn’t too much of an issue.

The location was in the center of town.

The staff was very unwelcoming and cold. They did not even attempt to make you feel welcome or like a guest in the house. It felt like I was intruding on them when I was paying a lot of money to be there. The property was very old and outdated, beds very uncomfortable, pillows & sheets & towels were very old and uncomfortable. The floors creaked so loud that any movement during the night woke the entire building up. It was also so very hot and they only had 1 tiny little fan. The curtains weren’t any helpful in keeping the sun out of the room during the day to prevent the air from warming. There are so many improvements needed at this place. Even the breakfast was underwhelming. The tiniest portions & cups as if they wanted us to not eat much. The location is nice but I would never stay again.
