A warm, family-run hotel with great views, perfect location, and everything you need for a comfortable stay in Hallstatt

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is great – just a 12-minute walk to the town center, and having private parking at the hotel is a huge plus in Hallstatt. We had a lovely triple room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the Alps. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming – you can feel it’s a family-run place, made with love and care. Would definitely recommend!

There were no downsides for us. Some guests might find the breakfast simple, but we found it more than enough: eggs, cheese, ham, fresh vegetables, fruits, and sweet treats.

The family that runs the property is so kind and wonderful. They made sure we were comfortable and had an excellent stay. I also really enjoyed that the hotel was out of the main tourist area. It felt nice to escape the hustle and bustle. Also, the view of the mountains from our room was incredible!

Peaceful stay at a cozy BnB.

This bed and breakfast is located about a 10 min walk from the main street. A little quicker walk to the lake. Close to the trails that go to the waterfall and glacier garden. There is a river beside it, which made for a peaceful sleep and relaxation on the balcony. The rooms were very clean and large. The breakfast was the best! The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond for us.

Fantastic stay!

The staff were incredibly welcoming. They made our stay such a great experience. I love the breakfast room with the view of the mountains, the excellent array of choices of breakfast and again the friendly staff. I like the quiet and very comfortable bed for sleeping. We had suite and i enjoyed having mini fridge for leftovers and sitting room to visit in. I LOVED the walk along the stream to get into town.

Lovely stay

The location is a bit of a walk from the center. But that's what I like about it. It is peaceful, away from the crowd. It has a nice view of the mountain on the background. You can have a peaceful walk by the stream. The room I had is a single room but the size is good for a single person. It has a small fridge and kettle and a mini seating area where you can sit and enjoy the nature's view from the outside. They clean the room and replenish coffee packets daily. Breakfast is also good. They offer to cook eggs on your preferred way.

It is not much of a noise, but I can hear people on the next room.

Great B&B on the edge of Hallstatt

The property and rooms were clean. Good size rooms and lovely outdoor area. We really liked that it was dog friendly and the hosts were really friendly and lovely. The private parking was really handy as not many places can offer that in Hallstatt. We also really enjoyed that the property is not in the city center, as it is too busy and crowded with tourists. It is a very comfortable 10-15 mins walk from the touristy areas which gave us the perfect piece and quiet setting and restaurants and shops were in an easy walking distance. We would absolutely book again.

Great people & location

The staff, very attentive lady that explained everything in detail, provided info about the area and things to do etc. The location, my bedroom in particular. I arrived 2h before the check-in and they allowed me to use the parking lot, and gave the bedroom key in advance. So I went to do some exploring while they finished preparing the bedroom. When I finally got back and got to it, found it to be very nice and comfortable, they gave me an ensuite, which was nice. Location is perfect, literally about 5-10 min or so walk from the Funicular and town, very practical. From the hotel you can also go for hikes if you wish, can see the footpath soon as you step outside, across the road. I didn't get to enjoy the free breakfast as I had to sadly leave overnight, but I'm sure it was promising. Overall, despite being a very short stay, not even a full day, I enjoyed the people and the facilities, definitely would return and of course I recommend, good value for money!

Not really "dislike", more a suggestion. Perhaps include a fan or some sort of cooling system in the bedroom. Mine I found to be a bit on the warm side at night, even with the window open.

Charming family-run place in a good location and very friendly people.

Breakfast was excellent. Freshly made eggs, good bread, meat, cheese. We only discovered the juice on the last day, as it was a bit on the side. The room was large, clean, had fridge, safe. Good view from the balcony. The beds were very comfortable and made already while we were at breakfast. They came back later in the day for a thorough day-clean. Glasses, and a water boiler for tea and coffee were available.

Great stay that was basic but very nice.

Very nice and clean. I had a great visit at Pension Hirlatz. The would definitely stay again. Especially loved the house pet. Nothing better than a sweet black lab.

Beautiful pension close to Hallstättersee

Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Beautiful building. Great location, in close proximuty to the center of the village, surrounded by the Alps and within walking distance of Hallstättersee.

Unfortunately very noisy guests on the same level of my room (slamming of doors, children shouting and running around, room neighbours being noisy until the early morning hours, etc.). Could do with a few more parking spaces.

A silent retreat

The silence around there is amazing. Great place to have a rest, especially if they are not full. The gasthaus is nice and cozy, clean, comfortable., The staff is very helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The nature around it is awe inspiring.

It wasn't obvious where the sauna was, but with a little help we found it.:) You have to walk a bit to the center, but the scenery is still nice!

It's a family run hotel, which makes me feel like i am staying in someone's house more than a hotel-which i really love. My room got a window view to the road outside, it's a very cosy and clean room with daily housekeeping. Breakfast is buffet style, the selection is nothing fancy but very delightful. Also appreciate there is electric kettle with complimentary tea and coffee available in the room.

The only way to get here from the boat drop off is by foot- about 20mins walk. Pulling a heavy luggage across the snow covered floor was not easy. Otherwise without the luggage walking out to the city center was not an issue for me, it's a very pleasurable scenic walk!

A very enjoyable 2 night stay

-Comfortable beds and spacious room for our needs -Balcony -quiet -Great breakfast (breads, pastries, butter, jams, veggies, fruits, yogurt, cereals, juice, sliced meat and cheese, cooked eggs on request. Very nice coffee and teas. -Two flights of stairs to our room which did not bother us, I just highlight for others -Very friendly staff who speak English -About a 20 minute walk from the ferry -10/15 mins walk into the town itself -Excellent value for money -Wifi worked very well

Very dissapointed

It had a nice trail across the street

The room was the size of a kids room and that was the smallest bed I have ever slept in. The tub/ shower was also tiny and the shower head was so low, that even though I'm only 5'2" it only reached my shoulders and to wash my hair I had to hand hold it. Meanwhile the shower curtain was so long, it covered half the bottom of the tub and I slipped on it, almost falling out of the tub. Also, not enough towels. The room was facing the street, I had to keep the window open 'cause there was no other airflow, but the traffic outside was so loud, that at 530am I thought a freight train was going by the first morning. Breakfast was also very poor, spread out on a couple of tables, the same exact thing every single morning, cheap lunch meats ( bologna, some kind of chopped ham, salami ) and the cheese sliced so thin you could read a paper through it, some yogurts and fruit. Not even good coffee, you had to get it yourself from the machine and it was not good. Besides breakfast, no other meals are available on site. The waitstaff showed up in daisy-dukes and tiny skirts, covered in tatts from top to bottom, not very professional. Nobody asked my entire stay how everything was, not until I checked out, a little late, don't you think ?! They had wifi, but it did not work at all, I would log in, ( it took forever for the first time) and then every time I finally got it, it would kick me right back out. Even late at night while people were sleeping. Also when there's people in the hall, it echos really bad and you can hear everything in your room. The owners apparently also live in the building, 'cause every time they cooked their meals, the whole bldg. would stink like it.

Superb

The location is further off from the town, but we actually enjoyed it a lot. It's very quiet and calming, away from the hustle of the crowds. The trail to the waterfall is nearby. The room is very spacious and the staff is super nice. Overall, we highly recommend this place for stay.

The curtains in the bedroom are slightly too small for the balcony door. We had to use a picnic blanket to cover the rest of it.

The location although away from the Centre of Hallstatt (just 15min pleasant walk) is ideal as it is at the foot of the mountain that one can explore. Nearby waterfall, forest and more to discover. Gabrielle the owner was very helpful and nice. Likewise the rest of the staff. Buffett Breakfast 😋. Greetings to all especially the Grandmother.
