Very comfortable stay close to Scrabster ferry

The house was perfect for staying the night before catching the ferry from Scrabster to Orkney. There was plenty of space, sea views, very comfy beds, and less than five minutes to the ferry. I loved reading about the history of the house and its importance to Tina's family in the notes she left for guests.

Excellent holiday home base for touring the north coast of Scotland.

The bungalow looked very clean and tidy. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. Toaster, kettle, microwave, washing machine, electric cooker, fridge and small freezer. Nice powerful shower. Very quiet neighbourhood and a lovely view from the lounge and two of the bedrooms overlooking Thurso Bay and the Scrabster ferry terminal. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable - a holiday with good sleep is very important.

I would suggest that the carpet in the main bedroom could do with a shampooing as there was definitely a dirty smell in that room. We weren't provided with extra bags for general rubbish.

The apartment was very nice, but the managerial/administrative/customer services were deficient.

Keys were not in the lock box. Neighbor notified property manager, who came later and seemed to imply that it was my fault the keys weren't there -- something about I didn't book far enough in advance. The booking was accepted -- this was their fault. In my years of travel I have NEVER been asked to strip the sheets from the bed and bag them. There was no laundry soap, and NOWHERE in the booking or confirmation did it say I was supposed to supply my own. It was not clear whether I had rented the entire apartment or just one small room. There was a TV in the small bedroom that the property manager showed me to -- but it did not have a power cord. I did not realize the power was turned off on appliances and the TV until right before I left. There was not mention of this in the "instructions" book.

This is a comfortable home with fabulous views. There are plenty of shops to buy essentials and a beach on your doorstep. It is an ideal property for getting the ferry to the Orkneys.

The location, Host and Facilities were superb. Can only recommend, the neighbours are friendly and stopped for a chat almost every day during our Stay. Quiet cul-de-sac location.

One night stay during NC500 - perfect location and perfect stay.

Great location with very nice harbour view. Big house with all necesary facilities. Concatless check-in, wery comfortable beds, everything was very clean - it was a pleasure to stay in Four Waves. I wish I could stay there more than only one night. Thurso is quite beautiful and has a lot of shops.

A great overnight stay - met the 3 C’s, cosy, clean and comfortable

The location was handy to the Northlink Ferry terminal at Scrabster and it was in a quiet cul-de-sac. The view was beautiful out over the beach area. The recent snow added to the atmosphere. It has 3 bedrooms but we only used the main. It was very comfortable, warm and clean. All kitchen and laundry needs were available although we did not use these facilities. The owner and manager were available to speak to and very helpful. Just a note: to lock the door turn the handle upward when turning the key.

View was stunning! Could watch boats come in from window. Also had a walking path just beyond the back garden area. Also was very near the car ferry which took us to Orkney Island. Short drive to grocery store. Can understand why owner could not bring herself to sell her inheritance!

Good base for exploring, good view over bay

Shower water too hot, unable to alter even after contact with owner. Fridge too low for us oldies. The views out from the living room window was great, whatever the weather, always something going on to watch. Easy to book trip over to Orkney, we want from John O’Groats which included coach trip round island.

Great pit stop on our NC500 tour.

Very comfortable. Fabulous views over the water. Better than it looks in the pictures. The owner, Tina, was quick to respond our messages. We enjoyed our brief stop here and would happily stay again.

It’s not particularly spacious. On street parking in the cul-de-sac is a bit erratic but you should be able to get parked ok.

OK for the one night whilst waiting for the freey to Orkney

The location had good views from the living room and the bedroom

We had to phone twice to be able to get in ! 1) was to say that we were behind time and would arrive late . the call was transferred to voice mail. 2) was to find out the key box code. We were told it had been emailed a 3.oopm that day (whilst we were travelling to get there! However when checking no email was received

Reading the Rule Book about this House, it is explained that the Inherited Family was poised to sell after their Grand Parents passed away. What a fantastic decision to keep it as a holiday home. Absolutely Fantastic place to stay. We are very well travelled with Booking.com over 150+ times and this accommodation is by far the best place EVER ! Spotlessly Clean, Modern Facilities and a View to die for over looking Scrabster Ferry Port which we used to go to the Orkney Islands and our NC500 Tour. Awesome Place....You will be an Idiot not to stay here ! 100/10 for us 👍
