The road outside to the property is not the best but had roadworks so hopefully it will be fixed

Stayed here last year and liked it so much that we re booked and hope that we can continue to stay here every time we visit Thurso to visit family
No kitchen roll or tea towel in kitchen so had to buy as didn’t pack any.
Would be handy if these items were supplied.
No oven tray just one roasting tin which made cooking a little tricky. Some of the condiments left in the cupboard were actually out of date.

Comfy, well equipped, lovely decor, beautifully clean.
Larger towels would’ve been the icing on a perfect cake.

This truly was a home away from home! My wife commented that the only way it could feel more homely is if there was a cat! Next time I’m up in Thurso visiting family I would definitely look to book again.
Nothing not to like. Everything was great.

Great location, very clean & spacious with plenty room for travelling with family, a proper home from home!
The only disadvantage is no clothes washing facilities, we were fine as only there a few days but a longer stay it would be beneficial.

The house has been newly refurbished and offers many great features. The living room is particularly welcoming, with new comfortable sofas, a large TV, cosy blankets, and plenty of space to relax. The kitchen is lovely and spacious, with a large fridge and a convenient dishwasher, which made our stay easier.
The bathroom setup is also very good, with both a bath and a separate shower. The shower itself is powerful and enjoyable, and the lovely toiletries were a very nice touch. We also really appreciated the additional air heater on the bathroom wall, which made it very comfortable. All the rooms are very spacious, with plenty of storage space thanks to the large wardrobes in the double bedrooms. The heating throughout the house is excellent, and the floors are nice, giving the home a warm and modern feel. The garden is huge (photo attached) and could potentially be great in the warmer months, although we didn't use it as it was cold. Parking right outside the house, at the back, next to the garden.
There is a large Tesco 2 minutes drive, which was great.
Overall, beautiful property with a lot of potential. With just a bit more attention to detail in the cleaning and a few minor updates, it could be absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the space, comfort, and warmth the house offered and would recommend it.
If you are in the north for a few days, a must-visit is Duncansby Stacks.
There are a few areas where improvements could make the experience better. Some of the cleaning standards could be raised – particularly in the kitchen, where the cooker, oven tray, and some pans needed a good clean before use. The cutlery drawer was not clean, so we rewashed dishes and utensils ourselves (the dishwasher was great for this). While the kitchen was generally well-equipped, small things like a fresher sponge would make a difference. In the shower, there was a non-slip mat which was not clean. We removed it and left it in the bath. We didn't use the bath, so we can't comment on that.
In terms of waste disposal, the recycling instructions were a little confusing, and it would have been helpful to have a general rubbish bin and a bin in the bathroom for convenience.
Upstairs- 3 bedrooms and the bathroom/shower: two of them are very spacious, the other one is small with the bed next to the wall and no storage. None of the rooms has any tables or chairs, although the two large bedrooms have huge wardrobes. Just to be aware if using the 3 bedrooms. The beds were fine for a short stay. I found them comfy, but not my companions. The quality of the bedding and the overall presentation could be improved. The sheets and pillows were of lower quality, and there were some stains on the pillowcases, which was a little disappointing.
Other minor points: although the home has been beautifully refurbished, there are already some marks on the walls, and some areas seem cleaner than others. The Wi-Fi details also need updating, as the password was tippexed out, making it difficult to access. Additionally, the gate door could not be closed securely from the outside, which might be worth fixing for future guests.

It was spacious with easy parking
There was no laundry which was very disappointing

This listing is quite misleading. SO disappointed. We ended up spending 4 nights elsewhere in the middle of our booking and paying essentially double just to get out of there.
This is NOT A HOUSE it is a duplex/flat/apartment with shared walls. I was shocked when we pulled up, you drive through a somewhat disheveled apartment community with trash/clutter piled up in yards.
The yard smells of gas, and the outdoor area is sad and unkempt. There is not a "deck," there is a 4x4 square space in the yard with a rotting bench and 2 bucket chairs that have no cushions.
The house smells of perfume covering the smell of cigarettes. My allergies were outrageous in the house.
You are forbidden from managing the heat yourself. We asked that the heaters be turned off because we could feel the heat coming out, she said they were off (which some were), so the heat continued. You are right next to a main road (the A9 I believe) so with the windows open you hear the constant car noise.
There are no black out curtains and very uncomfortable beds making it difficult to sleep.
The kitchen table makes no sense. The kitchen cabinets, utensils, dishware, pots all needed to be washed before use. The freezer had hair and grime in the bottom. There is no coffeemaker.
The bathroom had watered down "shampoo", and the "conditioner" and "body wash" were the same product. The hot water shut off in the middle of a bath on the last night. No floor mats so it was a watery mess.
Some of these might seem like minor inconveniences, but overall it's just a sad and uncomfortable place to stay and by far the worst stay of our 1 month trip in Scotland. This northern area of Scotland is BEAUTIFUL beyond words and this stay did not do it justice.

Excellent location for N500, visiting Orkney and local area. Accommodation very comfortable with everything you need and a Tesco superstore a few minutes drive away. Local takeaways easy to hand. A very comfortable house, which has been carefully decorated with a very comfy lounge suite for the evenings.

Clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds.
Duvet and pillows could be better quality.
Not sure paying guests should be asked to strip beds and put laundry in bags though!

It's a good location for Thurso, plenty space in the house and we had all we needed for our stay
There were only two big plates, we were only two people so it was fine for us, but if more people are staying and eating in it can be an issue.
The heating was making quite a lot of noise which I don't remember being an issue when I stayed in the property last time, I have let the host know as it was disruptive at night.

Very quiet. Very comfortable
The rather scruffy artificial lawn in the garden, gurgling radiators when heating came on.

I booked this property because I was struggling to find any where that week. The house was warm and facilities good.
Bed linen was creased in all three rooms. It did not look as if it had been ironed. It was hard to tell if the beds had been changed. No egg cups. Dust on the lamp base, which concerned me in these times as to how much cleaning had been done. There was no salt or pepper, which was explained by host as to why it was not available. I have not experienced that in any other accommodation.

Friendly neighbours.
Host not in the least bit accommodating, place not at all clean.
We chose a house for a 3 day stay during our 2 week motorcycle NC500 holiday so that we could unpack, wash clothes and have a few quiet days. However, despite the site stating there was garage parking for our motorcycles (which cost £40k in total by the way, hence not wanting to keep them out on the street) since Covid, washing machine and dryer are kept in there, along with all bedding and towels. So...no garage. Also no washing machine available and host would not let us have access 'because of Covid' since we would 'contaminate' the bedding and towels! I appealed to her several times, explaining our needs, but this was to no avail whatsoever. She actually laughed at me and even suggested we use a laundrette! She agreed that at the time of booking, garage and white goods were included but she had since tried to remove it from the site. We were not informed of this or we would definitely have cancelled and stayed elsewhere.
Other problems:
- cheapest bedding ever, not ironed either;
- about 8 biscuit wrappers and old tissues under mattress;
- lots of debris in corners in kitchen and hallway;
- bathroom splashback behind sink filthy;
- dust inside wardrobes;
- no bath mat;
- only a tiny dribble of hand soap in bathroom, none in kitchen;
- no cleaning products for bathroom - yet 5 of us stayed for 3 days;
- no storage in one of the double bedrooms so this guest's clothes were on the floor - site says all bedrooms have wardrobes or drawers. This room was tiny for a double anyway.
- Lots of debris under occasional table and a bright orange ping pong ball was not spotted and cleaned away from previous guests;
- only seating for 4 in the lounge;
- only seating for 3/4 in the garden. Garden is shabby anyway, with fake grass and lots of slippy moss from guttering where birds have pecked and dropped it. One of our guests slipped and hurt his back no this.

Spacious and very quiet place to stay
WiFi was a little unstable

The unit was beautifully furnished - really really stylish - modern and beautifully uncluttered. The colour pallet used was charming.
The TV didn't work!
Crockery, cutlery and glassware were a wild mixture of un-matching and unattractive odds and ends. This really let the property down. £100 - at most £200 - would sort this.
The garden was uninteresting - to say the least. Too few seats outside.
The house is in a brutal 1970s estate - but it is in beautiful Caithness.
