Beach House Thurso

Beach House was well presented, clean and tidy throughout. Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. Location was perfect, ideally situated for the town and the beach.

The garden really lets this property down! It needs tidying up urgently. Why have a great house on the inside but not bother about the garden? Seems quite sad that it's been neglected.

We have enjoyed the use of the newly refurbished house. Overall it was well decorated and laid out. We particularly liked the porch for shoes and chair to sit in, and the area between the kitchen and the sitting room, which had a table- a handy space for all our suitcases. Kitchen equipment was adequate. Good to have the washing machine and dryer, although instructions for both would have been handy.

There are some areas that still need attention, like the garden, front and back, as well as the side of the house, Also the wiring to the TV needs boxing in- it looks very untidy, as does the cupboard with the ironing board and the area to access the back garden. As the house was recently re-done, it is a pity the bathroom sink did not have a mixer tap, specially as the hot water tap has a mind of its own and can be turned either way to open it. Lastly, the parking. It would be useful if guests are made aware that the parking is the free common parking square behind the house- to drive to it, pass the house, take 2nd right and then first right and the car park is in front of you. It can be accessed from the back door of the property, but that involves 2 separate set of stairs, which may be difficult, if guests have a lot of luggage. Things that could improve the experience for the guests are tissue boxes and wastepaper bins in both bedrooms and sitting room, and shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. We have stayed in many self catering accommodations, and most now do provide this.

À ce prix là , Thurso et sa région ne valent pas le détour.

L’emplacement au centre de Thurso et le long de la plage. Malheureusement, Thurso en septembre était un peu sinistre. Le sèche linge est un plus.Le quartier est très calme.

La décoration est simple et manque de chaleur et de personnalité en comparaison à ce que nous avons loué ailleurs en Ecosse (bouquins, tableaux ..). Le prix est excessif même si l’offre est peu abondante dans la région. Ce fut la location la plus chère en dehors d’Edinburgh.
