Potentially a nice place but needs to invest a bit more to ensure customers needs are met.

Pleasant surroundings and the location suited us well. Owner/managers were responsive and helpful. The place was very clean.

WiFi was abysmal. We were on a business trip as it is close to Lancaster University and needed proper WiFi access and speeds. We got around 0.5 Mb of speed only and there was no connectivity in the top bedroom at all. This was the worst problem as far as we were concerned and, had I known it would be as bad as it was, I would not have booked there. The beds were rather cheap feeling and not very comfortable. I had asked if there might be a plug for my electric car and had received an answer that there would be no problem and no charge (which rather surprised me). In fact there was no outside socket at all and no where I could place my car within reach of an outlet as it would have blocked other cars. It was therefore not possible and the answer had evidently come from an agent who had no business answering. I managed to find somewhere else to charge the car but had I relied on their response I could have ended up in difficulty.

The towels were very stiff and not soft at all

The wifi was non existent. If you want to have access to any sort of internet connection - here is not the right place. The location is in a black spot to even the phone signal or internet did not work. The wifi was not great and hardly worked.

It was very clean and tidy and the directions given made it very east to find ...it was in a lovely location nice and quiet area..very spacious ...Nice layout of the property we loved every minute of it whilst we were there...would highly recommend this property for anyone

Good value weekend break.

Beautiful location, spacious comfortable living area, outside area for dog. Good value for money - if you don't want the height of luxury, as it could do with some refurbishment. Near a great garden centre for breakfast. Parking for a couple of cars.

Only one shower over bath - en-suite no shower just bath. Some matresses in need of replacement. Main bedroom only had double bed and the kingsize was in another small room - seemed odd! Wifi not the best - although 2 to choose between. No phone signal.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

Lovely spacious cottage in a perfect location for visiting the university and Lancaster centre. Very comfortable and clean with a good range of kitchen equipment. The host was friendly and communicative and responded quickly to my questions. Nice outside area overlooking the fields.

The wifi and mobile signal were very patchy but we managed by going outside where the signal was better. It would have been nice to have some soap in the bathrooms and maybe a small welcome package on arrival - milk, wine, tea and coffee biscuits. I know this is not a necessity but we have got something like that everywhere else we have booked and it leaves a lasting impression.

Excellent location and did the job nicely for our 4 day holiday.

The update emails that I was sent were out of date. Tea towels, an oven glove, and bin bags are provided, so you don't need to take those. Towels and bed linen are also provided. The directions to get to Poppy Cottage are unclear. Poppy Cottage is part of Ashton Hall Cottages. When you get to the turnoff to Ashton Hall Garden Centre (off the A588), go straight ahead down that little road (you will pass the turnoff to the Garden Centre on your right). Go straight ahead until the Ashton Golf Centre building is straight ahead of you, where you turn left. Then take the next left which is a tiny road which is next to Ashton Hall Cottages, where you can park. We had our breakfasts and dinners at the nearby Stork Hotel.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy family time

Beautiful cottage, gorgeous country side for those who want to escape the city life. Perfect for families. Even if it’s out of the city center, there’s a delicious cafe near by and a bus to go to the center.

The wifi is a little weak and we had no cellphone service inside the cottage but those were minor annoyances at most.

Location lovely and close to Lancaster. Loved the feeling of being in the countryside and seeing the ponies in the paddock. Easy parking outside the property. Well furnished throughout. Kitchen facilities good.

Shower not working properly. Would have liked instructions on how to use the oven but understand not available due to COVID. Perhaps they could be made available online?

Really great cottage high quality and lovely surroundings.I would recommend but be aware that access to the old railway/cycle path is difficult steep bank not ideal with dogs
