Breakfast was the best ever. Very high quality in a great environment.

The curtains were not light proof and as there were many lights outside in the courtyard/garden it was a bit bright at night in the room.

Nice hotel - but not suitable for a work related visit.

Staff was kind and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious.

Breakfast was served from 08.00 (by request this could extraordinarily be extended to 7.45). Neither was relevant due to ordinary work hours (7.00 would have been possible). Reception not open after 18.00 or before 08.00.

Two bedroom apartment is located on the second floor. There is no elevator in the hotel, so it was very inconvenient to get to the room. Please note if you are traveling with children and suitcases or struggle with climbing the stairs. The playground was closed. Restaurant Ludwig's was also closed and Café Tausendschön is only open until 3pm. The breakfast was ordinary.

We had a late arrival, almost midnight. All the instructions was in German lanquage. I don’t understand / speak german lanquage. So after some phonecalls we managed to get our room. After that, what an excellent experince. Superior breakfast!

Charming country stay with quality

Charming, comfortable, great quality, beautiful surrounding, clean. Wonderful breakfast in a lovely space.

The only little negative is that we arrived past 10pm, which they knew so they kindly sent us instructions on where to find the key and instructions to our room. As it was dark, no lights came on so parking in between the buildings was interesting.. Also as we found the envelope with the detailed, good instructions- they were in German! Thankfully Google translate could help us.. We then went looking for our room again outside in the dark, without any yard lights on. For next late check in guests, we recommend that the hotel checks their language and sees that they have lights on when they arrive. For the rest, all was extremely pleasant and great quality.

Peaceful hotel with excellent customer service

The Scheune Suite was beautiful. Very spacious and comfortable! Breakfast was beautiful! It’s a great location if you’re looking for peace and quite but easy access to the Baltic Sea (less than 10 mins drive by car). Also I’ve never experienced a more friendly and polite reception!

Very nice country hotel in quiet village with peaceful surroundings. Nice big rooms, good linen, great breakfast. In 200m there is steakhouse which was open in Sunday afternoon which is lucky chance to eat nearby. Recommended!

We had a great, quiet room and stay, would return anytime

We had a huge suite (Scheunensuite) on the top floor of the outbuilding. It was very cozy, comfy, clean and spacious, including a fully equipped kitchen. Very quiet, central heated. Breakfast is.... a bit dull. No healthy options, but a good variety of breads, cold meats, salmon, boiled eggs etc. Nevertheless it is alright. The atmosphere is very stiff though (the guests in general), the staff is accommodating.

The ca 20 sqm gym is very poorly equipped. Cardio equipment is old and simple home equipment, no weights, no exercise ball, nothing but cardio rubbish and wall bars.

A bit of a disappointment to be honest....

- Beautiful garden - Cosy, pine-wood-panelled room with a comfortable seating area - Very quiet and peaceful place - A hotel with a soul and a history - Excellent breakfast buffet - Very tastefully decorated hotel; everything is of high quality

- The photos on the Booking website mainly show (the rooms in) their gorgeous new building with the thatched roof where the suites and expensive rooms are. If you book a cheap(er) room, you end up in another, much older building (like The Art House). - The internet connection in the Art House was very patchy. - The restaurant and its wine cellar were closed ("for personal reasons"). The nearby coffee house as well ("only open from Wednesday to Sunday"). The only restaurant in the immediate vicinity was a steakhouse, not a happy place for a foodie who was looking forward to a great meal without having to drive :-((( Big disappointment. - The sauna was closed too ("because of the current situation", i.e. corona I assume, but all the hotel spas in the region are currently open... ) - another disappointment. When I enquired about an alternative in the area (The region is well known for its spas), I was told there was a male masseur I could call to come to the hotel and given a phone number. Not really what you expect from a 4-star hotel and not something you're particularly keen to try as a female solo traveller! Even more so as I don't speak much German and hate the idea of having to making a phone call in a language I hardly master. - The bathroom was spotless and well-equipped (kaldewei shower, toiletries from The White Company, tissues, hairdryer ....), even if a bit outdated. - There was no info in the room (Internet password? Location of the fitness?) and the reception is closed as of 6pm so there's no one to ask. - The staff was friendly and polite but I didn't really feel welcome or cared about (e.g. no one asked me anything, not even on check-out), which is a bit surprising for a family-run hotel.

Absolutely beautiful location and guest house, really nice room. Big breakfast buffet, excellently tasteful. Extremely helpful staff, accommodating with my very late arrival request. Very polite and helpful in general also in the restaurant. Would recommend and return!

No real complaints! The only somewhat slightly annoying thing would be the check-in desk only being open in such a short window. But even that the hotel saw happy to work around with me, so all in all, nothing bad!

Super schöne Lage und Umfeld. Ein sehr schönes Anwesen. Unserer Hund war mehr als willkommen und fühlte sich sehr wohl. Das Frühstück ist absolut hervorragend und lässt keinen Wunsch offen. Sehr schön ist auch der Fitnessraum und die Sauna. Wir hatten ein Zimmer Upgrade mit Terrasse was sehr schön war. Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Die Öffnungszeiten der Rezeption, die war ab späterem Nachmittag geschlossen. Da wäre es schön, wenn man eine Telefonnummer hätte zum Anrufen, wenn man ein Anliegen hat.
