A pleasant overnight stop with a lovely evening meal

Evening meal was lovely, staff were friendly, nice beer at the bar, beautiful & peaceful setting.

Unfortunately fire alarm woke us up at 4am which probably can't be helped but I was a bit disappointed that nobody even apologised. Breakfast was disappointing, especially for the cost, Not much selection and they had run out of yoghurts and eggs. They also charged adult price for a child but we didn't notice until too late!

A meal on the outside terrace was magical

The location on the river was superb. We were fortunate enough to have a lovely summer evening to have our meal outside. The food was excellent. Sharon had the prawns to start and I had the courgette soup. Both were yummy. However - the beef skewers (sorry - I can’t remember the French name for the dish) were absolutely fab! Really tasty and loads of meat. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Independent hotel on the river

Nice little independent hotel, right on the river.

Soirée musicale when we were staying there, not really what we had hoped for. Restaurant food was too expensive for the quality of the dishes. We were assaulted by mosquitos since right next to the river, we had not brought anti-mosquito product and nothing was available at the hotel.

The food is exceptional. Haven’t stayed here for a few years as haven’t been doing long distance driving holidays. Good as ever. Very memorable!!

Lovely quiet spot for an overnight stay on the way south from Calais

Nice old building right next to the river, quite traditional and sympathetically modernised. Lovely terrace restaurant, also just for a drink. Old world elegance!

Although the coffee was good, breakfast, though in very elegant surroundings, was a ridiculous price for quite a limited offering- very little (restricted) bread and croissants, boring fruit salad and too many wrapped cakes etc. Cheese, ham and hard boiled eggs were fine - but €13!!

I will be back, often.

The food was superb if the choice a little limited. For 2/3 nights it's OK. For longer one would run out of options. Location on the Olivet Canal is wonderful. The Local authority has made a big effort to cater for walking, cycling and for families. Many interesting old mills. Unfortunately none are in working order. Lots of really helpful plaques explaining the history. Beautiful outdoor swimming pool, very busy with families. Really great area with lots to do.

Breakfast somewhat limited. The addition of muesli, for instance would help.
