Fantastic stay.

Just excellent from start to finish, being met at door on arrival and being shown to room was a lovely touch, the decor and artwork, the open fire and the fantastic staff and the food.

The evening meal a La carte was good.

The room and bathroom were cold And remained cold overnight. The staff did nothing to remedy the situation. It was the worse place I have ever stayed at in Ireland. Very disappointing. The staff did nothing to listen and pass information between them about the sub standard room.

I was surprised by this property. The impressions from the photographs were very different to the reality.

The room was cold the bedroom was cold the bathroom was freezing. Reception did not seem to care. There inaction led us to leave as soon as we were able. How can they let out a stone cold room even trying to turning the radiators up one was cold the other tepid. I asked for two single duvets but they couldn’t accommodate my request until the following day. This was the worse place I have stayed in Ireland. It was very disappointing. It makes a mockery of Ireland’s Blue Book. The quality was shocking.

Incredible stay, would highly recommend.

The girl we met at the door and Karoline were lovely from the second we came in contact with them. Everyone we came in contact with during our stay was lovely. The food was 10/10, the room was fantastic, clean, big and very comfortable bed.

A big thank you for a comfortable stay.

The joint owners were extremely welcoming, professional and helpful. The restaurant staff were also great. We had a glitch with our car, they couldn't help us enough. The bed was very comfortable. The food was fabulous, breakfast was generous. The drawing rooms and outside space are great for relaxing.

My hsband would say the room door sticking to the frame. No tea and coffee available or served in the room.

Unexpected joy!

This was an unexpected joy to find. 300 year old manor with huge rooms. Dinner and breakfast are amazing in the dining room. Also a must try is their strawberry gin and tonic drink in the drawing room before dinner!

Fantastic relaxing stay

The location is great, out in the country beside the river with lovely garden. We relaxed in the garden with our drinks before dinner. Dinner was perfect, my mum had seatrout and I had sirloin steak which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Beds were so comfy and really quiet room. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Will definitely be back

Pleasant stay but disappointed at not being allocated the room we had booked/paid for.

Breakfast - table service rather than buffet, but the number of courses more than enough and very high quality cooking and presentation. Dinner was excellent with a good choice. Probably overpriced.

We had booked/paid for a 'superior' double but were allocated a very obviously 'standard' double which didn't match the list of facilities. We pointed this out and were reallocated a 'superior' twin. This was good but not as advertised picture for the double, or as we expected.

Wonderful stay

Stayed here last night for a friend's birthday party. Room was very spacious with a superking bed. Bathroom was beautifully renovated. Didn't make it down for breakfast. Staff were all lovely and helpful tbe whole stay

A real luxurious treat! Staff were highly professional and made us feel exceptionally well looked after. Great to see such a graceful property not selling out and maintaining as originally classical look as possible whilst still operating as a hotel and restaurant. Rooms make you feel appropriately spoiled and the setting is a real break from the normal pace of life. The walk to the river is not to be missed - I haven’t experienced calmness like that for long time.

Nothing we didn’t like at all. We wish the owners well in their clearly hard efforts to get all the property and grounds up to the same high standards we saw in the rooms and restaurant.

The food was very below standard, the dinner was over priced and lacking in everything you would expect. Breakfast was also very poor. The hotel did take this onboard and not charge for the food, but disappointing nevertheless.
