Fairly good location. Clean and tidy. Easy checking in procedure.
We felt that breakfast finished a little too early for our liking, being 9:00. We came away for a restful break but did not make breakfast on any of the three mornings of our stay. It would have been more convenient if it had been a 10:00 am finish.

Easy check in.
Great breakfast with vegan and vegetarian options which made us very happy.
All was good.
Definitely stay again next time I'm in Aberystwyth.

In the heart of Abberyswyth. Close to everything. Breakfast was lovely. Cooked fresh and how we liked it. Staff were very nice.
Dust all over sliding door to bathroom. Which didn't shut fully. There is a gap so you can see into toilet and smell it from bedroom.

I was making my way to Aberystwyth to deliver a tutoring session for the university. This has been my fourth visit to The GwesTY . Carwyn was brilliant as always, the breakfast is all locally sourced, and more than sets you up for the day. The staff were all spot on and made the two night stay more enjoyable. Location wise, a short walk to the beach. Five minute walk into the town centre. I will be back again for certain. Highly Recommended!!!.....

The staff were helpful in organising an additional room for us. The guest house is near the sea and had free street parking. The triple room with a Seaview on the top level was nice and had a new bathroom. The included breakfast was lovely.
The triple room on the lower level only had a bath and not a shower in the ensuite. There were a lot of stairs a you’d expect so pack light!

Location was great. Facilities were fine, if basic. But nice and clean. Breakfast was good. And staff were super friendly.
Nothing. It was great.

The Welsh breakfast was excellent. South road is very easy to find and the self-booking in system was easyTne staff were very friendly and efficient
We think that the room “Padarn” was good for the price but could with a chest of drawers for clothes in addition to the 4 hangers in the wardrobe and 2 glasses would be an improvement (or paper cups)

It was good value, clean and tidy. A little dated but ok.
There was only street parking of which was difficult to find a space. On booking it said there was parking.

Great location, literally next to the beach and the breakfast was lovely

The breakfast was the highlight! The room was very comfortable and clean. I would have preferred an ensuite, but that was down to availability. Check in/out was easy.
Parking was fine on the street, but a little more clarity on that in advance would have been reassuring. The stairs were a little steep, and the carpet old, but the room was fine.

The room was small but clean. The bed was comfy (which is more than I can say for some far more expensive hotels I have stayed in). We thought it was very good value. We just had the one night to visit our daughter at the Uni over the weekend and it served its purpose, I would use the hotel again for a quick stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Not a complaint at all but just a note: it would be good to have a long mirror near to the wall sockets so that guests can use it for hair drying etc. The only odd thing was having a sliding door with frosted glass between the bedroom and shower room. I think a solid door would be more appropriate. As much as I love my other half, I don't wish to see his blurred form sat on the loo 😂.
There's nothing I would say that I didn't like. It was perfectly good for the money we paid - they do not over charge; you get what you pay for. Do not go expecting 5* luxury. But it is clean and comfy.

Showed times of meals, password for wiifi and extra tea, coffee, milk for room was on offer if we needed
Goid supply of toilet rolls around the guest house.
Staff, only spoke to you, asking you for your order, did not ask if you had a goid night sleep or if your accommodation was OK. Not enough handrails, to go upstairs. Parking was a problem, my son was going around and round, I am disabled and was a worry that I couldn't find a place for our car, we contacted number on a card at reception but, no one came to assist us,after travelling a long way. Could have had more variety for breakfast.cereal, One day we had 1 rasher of bacon and one sausage, the following day we had 2 sausages and 2 rashers of bacon and my son didn't have a tomato on the second day.

Breakfast was excellent. Hotel was clean and welcoming. Overall very good and we will use the location again.
We were on the top of the hotel which with lots of stairs going in all directions made it a bit hard on my knees. No big issue. Same vein the shared toilet near us was down two sets of stairs then up two more flights, they were very clean but a bit of a trek at 3am!!

Very good place to stay. Excellent breakfast. Good Value
A minor problem that can be resolved, was in room Consti, the outside street light was a problem with the non blackout curtains at night.

The breakfast was good, typical of the breakfast foods we experienced during this trip. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was good for sightseeing, with the castle ruins and waterfront very close.
It was a bit of a walk from the train station. The building was unstaffed most of the time. We did not encounter any issues with security while there, but the security doors were not always closed when we came or went. There were also lots of stairs with which to contend.

There are larger hotels in Aber that are similarly priced known for messing people around and scamming people (check the reviews, hasn't happened to me but others have been very unlucky), whereas Gwesty is definitely putting in the effort and they do a great job.
They do an absolutely amazing cooked breakfast for free with other optioms available too- don't miss it. You get a TV in your room and staff are really nice.

Location, room and breakfast
Whilst the self check in worked satisfactorily , it is not as good as a welcome from a real person with knowledge of the local area. For balance, no, I would not want to pay more to cover the cost of a real person!

The room was basic as expected, had what I needed in it and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and quick.
The property had a shared bathroom which had no hot water in the shower. And as I was heading out to an event there was no time to contact the owner. I was disappointed in this as I had to go elsewhere to get ready and the purpose of the stay was to have somewhere to get ready which I couldn’t do. There was also no parking on the streets outside after driving around for 20mins. So had to pay £7 for overnight parking which was a 15 min walk away. Not the properties fault as they don’t offer parking but something to keep in mind.

The location was great. Near the sea front. Ideal for walking by the shore. The price was very reasonable.
Not quite as clean as we expected. Unfortunately we had difficulty contacting the staff who were not on site, of which we were informed previously.

We stayed in Castell. A beautiful attic ensuite room with partial but lovely sea views and enough room for a small family. We were allowed to drop off some luggage so we could spend the day in aber with less to carry. When we returned to check in we were delighted to see it was a self -check in. Keys and room info were waiting to be collected and our room was super easy to find thanks to good signs (my young kid loved the idea of getting lost in all the corridors, but it was simple enough to navigate). Our room was super clean and inviting. Our little one loved it and we had a great breakfast too!
The single bed was super squeaky overnight and we found a stain on the quilt but hopefully it was washed. There was a kettle and cups but no glasses or spoons, and the complementary tea and coffee etc was missing non decaf and milk so we couldn’t make a drink, and it seemed silly to contact the emergency number just for that. The hotel appears to be unmanned but I’m not 100% on that.

The location of this guesthouse is superb, literally right next to the seafront. Self check-in was a very easy process. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was good, a powerful shower although I found trying to get the right temperature tricky! Breakfast was very nice.
There wasn't really anything that I didn't like.

Great stay! Lovely staff, clean room, and handy location. Shared bathroom was no problem, and I liked having the extra toilet upstairs. Breakfast had lots of choice. I stuck to cereal and toast but the cooked options looked great. Really enjoyed it!
Parking isn’t guaranteed outside, but I used St Michael’s Church car park (3-minute walk, £7/24h). It was convenient, and given how reasonably priced the accommodation is, I was more than happy to pay a little extra.

Great location right on the waterside. Check in is easy and the room is comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing. A full made to order breakfast, the veggie option was delicious and plentiful.
The heat wasn’t on so it was a bit cold and the view from our room sucks but still a great place to stay.

Nothing really. The only issue is finding a parking space can be tricky.
