Location was quiet and suites.
Breakfast staff kept us waiting for 25 minutes before asking us what we’d like, guests that came in before us were served first and left before we finished.

100% recommend! The location is amazing. The staff could not be more pleasant. The breakfast was 5*. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very old style with a lot of character and the art throughout the hotel was interesting. The food in the restaurant and breakfast room was good, The room was a good size, it was clean and warm and comfy, We loved the Arran shower gels as they are so good
Due to the the compact style of this hotel there are no lifts We had no problem with this.

Just a gorgeous little hotel in a lovely village. Very atmospheric, dog-friendly pub on the location with excellent pub meals.
Would be amazing if there was regular buses to Moulin (it's about a 20 minute walk from Pitlochry) but that just isn't realistic in the rural UK, sadly. It didn't bother us because we enjoyed the walk from Pitlochry Station to Moulin which is very pretty.

Had a great stay in the cottage. It was very spacious for 6 of us but still had a cosy cottage feel. Location was great, out of the main town but still walkable and if we had any questions the main hotel was just across the road.
The kitchen and large cooker were great for us as we cooked a lot, but the kitchen windows didn’t open as they were painted shut. With little ventilation it got really hot in there and we ended up setting the fire alarm off a few times.

Liked the food although very pricey.. The fires in the dining area and bar were cosy. Breakfast was good
Food prices were expensive also drinks. The bedroom was cold. Shower was hopeless barely a trickle.

Extremely cozy, staff could not be more welcoming
The showers aren’t super powerful but still warm after a snowy walk!

Such a cute place to stay. The entrance was so welcoming and the inn was so sweet and cosy. We only stayed one night for NYE but the staff were so friendly - I’d go back just to see them again. The room was bigger than expected and everything worked perfectly!
If you’re a light sleeper I would suggest ear plugs. Absolutely no complaint - it’s a beautiful old building so naturally the internal walls are thin if your not a light sleeper you’ll never notice.

Lovely building on the outside.
Properly needs to be updated, it’s an old building but time to modernise the inside, install heating in the rooms. Corridors were cold, limited parking we had to park over 1/2 mile away, breakfast was passable. Staff were friendly, didn’t use the bar which appeared busy.

I loved the fact that it was an old building and kept a lot of it's original features. The rooms were beautiful, old style 4 poster beds which were very comfy. Staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was beautiful especially the Stornaway black pudding. Will definitely stay again.

Our room had a view out over the local countryside. Staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel food was excellent. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and we also ate dinner in the hotel lounge bar on each of the 4 nights we stayed. A comfortable residents' lounge meant we had somewhere to relax, and because we visited in December, the hotel was beautifully dressed in Christmas decor. A well-lit and inviting dining room made for a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely stay again.
A minor criticism would be that there was no gluten free cereal available for breakfast, but staff provided GF bread when asked. A more varied fruit option at breakfast would also have been good.

Great hotel, loved the comfort, pictures, and aesthetic of the hotel. Restaurant and bar were great as well.
Wifi fairly frequently seemed to drop.

The hotel looked very inviting from the outside - with Christmas lights and a lovely warm wood burning fire in the pub . Service at reception was friendly and efficient and equally so in the pub . Food was v tasty in pub and great selection of cooked breakfasts . Service was quick and staff were v helpful when asking for taxi services
Couldn’t fault anything .

Beautiful building with a lovely lounge in a charming hamlet overlooking Pitlochry. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The adjoining pub is a delight and even has its own brewery. Very good selection of whiskys and gins. Extremely good value with a hearty breakfast.
The fabric of the building is looking a little tired. Probably no more than is to be expected in a reasonably priced period hotel.

Staff were excellent, resolved a bed issue immediately with a room move. The room provided exceeded our expectations, many thanks.
Also the owners are looking to implement a redecoration plan.
A really great, welcoming bar with an excellent selection of drinks.
Could do with more fresh fruit at breakfast, otherwise fantastic cooked options.

Historic property close to Pitlochry
Decent breakfast included in the price
Good value for rate charged, room was quiet
In need of a lot of updating and decorating - paintwork scuffed and tired. Bathroom could do with upgrading
One of 3 rooms booked hadn’t been cleaned - guest was moved quickly to another room. Possibly not enough staff?
No direct access to bar from hotel without going outside
Own beer is terrible - tastes of cleaning fluid.

Had to wait a bit long for breakfast order taking,as there were people after us coming in being served first.
A few more charging points wouldn't go amiss.

This little gem is situated in a charming village up the hill from pilochry itself. Built in the 1600s- it is full of olde world charm.
The bar is old fashioned with wood panelling and fires.
Dining room has a stream running past it.
Food is very good. Service excellent.
The rooms are a bit tired but simehow it didnt matter!

Front of house young man very friendly and helpful. Pub food was tasty.
Breakfast was ok.
Although we knew from the hotel photos the room we had booked would be dated we accepted that however the mattress was done, the bath surround was mouldy and the windows in common with the room were filthy. There was no soundproofing between rooms. On leaving the manager was very short and unfriendly .

Comfortable room and good food and drink.
Could not book a table for our evening meal. Had to wait until it got quieter, which fortunately it did. Would have thought residents would be able to book.

Hotel comfortable but rooms a bit dated.
The Inn was nice and quaint with open fires.
In our room the tv didn’t work, and the electric shower flow was a pretty pathetic. It wouldn’t have been k bad if the shower head connection would lock in place instead of swivelling to face the wall!
The breakfast was really poor. The only things freshly cooked were the poached/fried eggs. The sausages were tasteless and dry, the bacon was fried to a crisp and the mushrooms were like dried leaves, with absolutely no moisture in them. Everything could have been cooked sitting there for an hour before being served.
You can’t book for dinner in the Inn so you have to take the chance you’ll get a table. Nowhere to wait and have a drink when you wai5. Food is good

Cosy hotel in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff l, comfy bed and excellent pub food. We very much enjoyed our stay.
As other reviews have mentioned, some of the interior is outdated, particularly the bathrooms. Unfortunately there is no option for hotel guests to book a table at the Inn for dinner, which I don't think is ideal, but we didn't have to wait for too long.

The location is the best thing about this hotel.
Our room was very dated, the whole hotel does not feel or look clean.
Dishes at breakfast were dirty.
7.0 / 10.0
The hotel was very charming, and the attached restaurant amenities were great. The decor was very considered and it was enjoyable as it does not compare to other, more modern hotels.
Our room was quite old. The bed was relatively hard, and the bathroom was falling into disrepair with warped laminate flooring and some cleanliness issues.

Breakfast delicious and great choice. Location is lovely and very scenic. Hotel is very atmospheric. Staff were great and very friendly. Bar food also excellent. Fireplaces are lovely and belt out a decent heat, very cosy for an autumnal visit.
Halogen spotlights in the bar are very bright and spoil the cosy vibes. Before these were installed it was like a journey back in time going into the bar.

Love the ambiance, quirky decor, and quaintness. Staff made you feel welcome and the sitting room is comfy with cushy chairs and couches. Restaurant next door is convenient and serves comfort food. The bar is full of locals.
The location is a bit far from town especially if you have to walk back up the hill.
