Overall a very nice stay. We would return but ask for any other floor apart from the top floor.

It was a listed building with some original interesting features which we loved. Great selection at breakfast. We had the Eggs Royale which was delicious. The staff were friendly especially Donna on reception. The hotel itself is in a perfect location a stones throw away from the Hoe. There was a comfortable lounge and bar but we didn’t use these. It was lovely and clean.

Our room was at the top of the property on the fourth floor and was extremely hot even though the heating was not on, and we had the window wide open but there was hardly any air coming in even on a cold evening, hence to say we didn’t sleep much. A fan was provided but this is too noisy.The shower tray was broken in the corner with a jagged edge which could have been dangerous stepping out of the shower if we had not noticed this.

Location was excellent and in walking distance of bars and restaurants and the city centre. The breakfast was lovely with a combination of continental and a delicious cooked breakfast. Was gorgeous! The staff wee extremely welcoming and very happy to help!

The hotel was tired in places. The windows and the bathroom ceiling were mouldy. They both needed attention as did the towel rail.

Was put in a room on the third floor with no lift very small room for the money we paid. TV didn’t work properly asked a member of staff if they could sort it out which didn’t work then could only watch certain channels disappointed as we like our telly Shower very poor as the pressure was awful then woke up in the morning to a massive leak in the hallway outside our door then noticed that it started leaking in the are bathroom through the light luckily got moved rooms. Staff were very helpful though. And 10 pound a day Parking when it should be free when you’re paying guest..

Staff a credit to the hotel with superb breakfast to help start your day

Staff very happy to help and were so nice and seemed genuinely interested in making your stay a happy one The breakfast was incredible with lots of hot or cold choices including a full English (my wife had the salmon and scrambled eggs- very nice). The bed was very comfortable with nice clean sheets.

Firstly this was not the fault of the hotel as it was a last minute booking with only one remaining room left but when we arrived this room was on the fourth floor and not suitable for us pensioners having no lift and was a bit of a struggle to climb all those steps with luggage (need to book earlier for a lower floor room). The room was a little tired in places ie mainly in the bathroom but was clean though.

A tad disappointing tbh

The staff, very helpful and nice people. Plus the breakfast was banging, very tasty, but on the small side (as a big hairy builder may not be filled. Quality over quantity, was enough for myself;-)

That I had to fill the plastic bin liner to flush the toilet, as the was insufficient water supply to flush the waste away. There was also a issue with the heating the room, a simple fix drain the radiator, as the radiator only was warm at the very bottom about 2, inches of warmth. The ironic thing I was given an upgrade for the double bed. Not the staff's fault, as I've said very friendly .

Only one thing car park is very small we parked on the end bay paid for that space. When we returned someone had parked there, they said their car was too big to park anywhere else. So was ours that’s why we chose that space, really they should have been asked to move. Did get sorted in the end as we were given another spot in the hotel just down the rd.

A comfortable and relaxed weekend made all the more so by the location and welcoming staff.

From beginning to end the staff were friendly , professional and attentive. Our room was comfortable and clean, ideal for a short stay. Breakfast had a varied selection and well cooked and presented. Location ideal for The Hoe, Barbican and City Centre. Quiet location .

No chair in the room but this did not spoil overall experience.

We had a lovely stay where the staff were very friendly, very clean and super comfortable. Breakfast was great and the location was ideal.

The hotel is advertised to have free parking however on arrival I was informed there was a £10 charge per night. Car park was also very small and difficult to get in and out of when full.

Brilliant location for access to everything, the Hoe, town, walks etc. Delicious breakfast. Amazing staff. Even allowed us to bring a takeaway in to have at the restaurant with the bar right there!!!!

Shower not working

The staff were lovely, helpful, and very nice in the reception and during breakfast. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order, and the Wi-Fi was decent.

The main issue was the shower. There was almost no water pressure, just a drip. You turn on the tap, there is no water to start with, then you wait 15 seconds, and still barely get enough water to wash your face. When I reported it to the staff, they told me they were aware of the water pressure problems in that room, but they still sell it. That’s unacceptable, having a working shower is a basic need. The room I stayed hasn’t seen any real care in years and feels tired and neglected.

Room was comfortable and staff pleasant.

No lift. Was on 5th floor and requested a lower room as one person had problems with stairs but was told no other room available. No food available through day apart from breakfast.

Wonderful stay!

All of the staff were lovely and welcoming. We were upgraded to a King room due to it being a quieter night in the hotel which was a lovely first welcome. The room was perfect, very comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was great, I was surprised by all of the options for the cooked breakfast along with the continental selection. The hotel had a relaxed feel whilst also upholding good standards. I would definitely like to come back and next time stay longer!

The room was really quite small and it was noisy - both from the street outside and some noise from other rooms. There was no remote for the TV so I had to figure out how to turn it on. At breakfast I also found the tables a bit close together - you felt like you were eating with all the other guests, whether you liked to or not! Overall it was ok but not sure I would stay again.

The hotel was located in a good location very near to everything we wanted to visit in Plymouth. The breakfasts were very good and well presented. Our room was very clean and maintained well during our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

A few things in the room needed attention. But were very minor, which we reported.

Excellent hotel for a girls night out

Check in was quick and easy, staff where friendly, the hotel was clean and tidy, a fan was in the room as it was a hot weekend so that was a nice surprise and the breakfast was lovely. Location is perfect.
