The room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful.
A little noise from above but nothing to upset our stay

Location is great.
We had a superior double on the top floor. We stayed on a wet weekend and one wall in the room was very damp with water running down the walls. We asked for a new room on check in but the receptionist was not the least bit interested in our issue and said there were no other rooms available. We also had an issue with the shower door not closing so water leaked all over the floor every time you used the shower. The receptionist on check out said the property was old and what did we expect. The property is old which is part of its charm but some serious money needs to be spent on it to bring it up to a hotel standard that you would be happy spending money on. We will not be staying here again unfortunately.

Only the convenience
Very dated, layout of the room in the basement which was dark and dingy. Having to pay for an overcrowded car park.

The room was well presented and well equipped with towels, kettle, and tea and coffee. Also had a hair dryer, which was very much needed.
The bathroom was very clean and so was the room.
The room only had a venetian blind at the window, and although this gave privacy, it didn't block out any light...
Would be more of an issue in the summer months.
The bed wasn't comfortable, although the pillows were of good quality.
The duvet was very thin, and we were both quite cold. We did have the radiator on a bit, and due to the street noise, we weren't prepared to open the window as it was noisy with it closed. Hence, the reason for not turning it up more.
Breakfast is also an extra £10 pp.
Also, the room was up a very narrow staircase at the top of the building. I'm glad we only had an overnight holdall!
We booked it with 4 friends to meet others for the evening.

Clean, everything you needed.
Breakfast was plentiful and quick.
Powerful shower.
Pay for parkimg on their site £10. De ided to park on street cheaper.
Told the twin rooms was on ground floor so easy disabled access, but reality was you had to go up or down steps to get to any rooms, no ramps.
Breakfast was a bit cold as if prepared earlier and then brought. Was like a buffet without the biffet option for the English Breakfast which dosappointed. Nothing wrong with it exactly, but not good either which it could easily have been.
Shower never got warm.

My second stay. I chose to return to the same hotel as it’s a lovely property, close to everything we needed to do. Warm and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. I feel safe at this hotel.
Both times I’ve stayed downstairs (double previously and twin this time). Lots of room, nice bathroom.
Haven’t attempted the parking as Drakes circus isn’t far and doesn’t cost much more for the same amount of time but with more spaces.
Nothing to dislike!

Very spacious, comfortable and clean room and hotel was ideal location
Limited parking but we managed to secure a space and breakfast was very dry & overcooked where it is left on hot plates for self service

Good location, clean and good size rooms for 3 adults .
Basic kitchen utensils available .
The lighting was very harsh, didn’t have a side light in the small room.

Clean, not a chain hotel. Rooms were small but that was no issue. Very clean, warm and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was disappointing. Hash browns was chewy and generally a bit bland and could tell it had been sat a while.

We arrived and got the last parking spot out the front.
We expected a smallish room, but as we had a dog we were taken out the back of the hotel to a larger room, with separate entrance, larger room, new bathroom.
All was very good, we paid £93 including parking and the dog.
Which included breakfast.
Breakfast we were able to bring our dog into the the buffet room away from the other guests. Which suited us just fine
We would definitely return here again. The staff were very friendly and everything was very good indeed!
To be exceptionally picky, I could say that the room we had was suffering from some.very minor damp and could do with lick of paint..which will most likely happen in the winter when it's quiet because everywhere else was a decent standard and it's difficult to keep up with these bug buildings

Allocation of the property is very good
When taken to our room, I noticed straight away. There was a strong smell of damp. The property was cold just one radiator in the corner and the bed was very hard making very very bad night sleep.

A classic building
In need of some renovation - a bit scruffy round the edges, and there needs to be more attention to detail.

Big room, not expensive
The cleaning could be improved, and the lack of lifts would make it difficult for people with luggages

The staff were very pleasant and helpfu
The first room was a poor state and not suitable to stay in but they moved us very quickly and we were very happy
They are going under some renovations at present . But I believe it will be of a very high standard soon and we would return .

Location. Room size . Secure. Good heating .
Macerator toilet was noisy and sometimes caused a smell of sewage. Cold shower on the first day which the hotel said was caused by the amount of guest using the facilities, however this did get rectified for the duration of the stay House Keeping staff were politely requested to replace tea bags in the room which they didn’t do and left the rubbish bag that they obviously were going to empty on the desk.

The room was large, spacious and clean. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful and the staff were lovely.
Our room although clean did need a bit of a revamp. Evidence of water damage , hole in the net curtain and the shower wasn’t the best. I though this next bit isn’t the hotels fault but on the first night the couple next door were having rampant sex until 2 am in the morning which was impossible to sleep through. Thankfully they either checked out or were exhaustion because we didn’t have a repeat performance 😂

Conveniently located, this hotel was the ideal stay for a family gathering before my daughter’s graduation at the Theatre Royal. The room choice worked for us as we required single rooms as well as double. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful, and they allowed us to leave cars at the hotel while attending the ceremony which saved having to move them.
The rooms were clean, beds comfy and a super breakfast - great value for money. No road or street noise, very quiet location.
There was nothing to dislike.

Great location, spotlessly clean, friendly staff. Best shower ever.
Best visited without a big suitcase, especially if in a top floor room. Stairs steep and narrow to the top floor.

Friendly staff. Near to the Hoe. Comfortable bed. Close to bus routes.
Floor coverings in my room were worn and the wallpaper was coming away. The sink plug wouldn’t seal. On Tuesday the croissants were in wrappings labelled ‘Today is Thursday. Discard first thing on Sunday’. When I pointed this out, they were replaced by ‘Tuesday discard Friday’. The same appeared on Wednesday. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday a diminishing number appeared with no plastic wrapping or label.

I liked the staff I met, they were all helpful. The hotel has great potential and is undergoing renovations at the moment so the foyer etc are in a chaotic state
The pillows were lumpy

It was a great location close to the Hoe/Barbican & the city centre. Bed was comfy.
Staff were welcoming.
Very run down old building , expensive for the level of facility provided. We were in the attic and it was boiling. Didn’t have the cleanest appearance , shower head filthy .
Parking was also odd if you blocked people in hotel asked to keep key.
