Exceptional value for money

I recently stayed and was genuinely taken aback from the moment we arrived. The welcome from the staff was exceptional – warm, friendly, and completely genuine. It immediately made us feel valued and set the tone for a fantastic stay. The vibe of the hotel is something truly special. It’s relaxed yet elegant, with a unique, modern twist that makes it stand out. The décor is stylish and vibrant while still feeling comfortable and inviting. It has a great atmosphere – lively but never overwhelming. A special thank you to Bertie who checked us in. He was personable, professional, and made everything effortless. It’s always the small interactions that make a difference, and he certainly did that for us. An even bigger thank you to the team who organised our room – it was absolutely fantastic. Everything was beautifully prepared and exceeded our expectations. Overall, an outstanding stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and we will definitely be returning!

Nice stylish budget hotel

Nice new, clean and stylish hotel. The room was a good size, bed very comfy and bathroom / shower excellent. The room includes tea / coffee facilities which I always appreciate.

The location is fine, but not amazing. There’s a lot of derelict space nearby, and no shops or anything in the immediate vicinity. The breakfast was fine, but a bit sad. I’ve stayed at Moxy hotels elsewhere that had much more choice at breakfast. I did notice that the design of the internal lock on the room door didn’t feel like it really did anything, I would prefer something a bit more substantial to feel like my door is secure, especially as a solo traveller.

It had a great communal space. Very welcoming, encouraging meeting people relaxing and get to know people. Interesting design, sets the tone for warm welcoming and socially open space.

The bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable.

Comfy, cosy, and convenient

Overall a wonderful stay! Greeted by friendly staff who were helpful with all requests. Complimentary welcome cocktail is a delightful touch that exudes positive energy. Atmosphere in the lobby is groovy and very festive! Lots of things to do from having delicious drinks or meals from the bar, to playing various games. Rooms are a decent size and ours was very comfortable for a couple. Immediately fell in love with the bed and had a lovely view of the city. Breakfast was very scrumptious each morning. Great location with a lovely walk into the city centre for anything you need. Would stay here again!

TV advertised to have streaming platforms but only had YouTube. Availability to connect phone to TV but you do need to have your own subscriptions for this. Struggled with the climate control in the room using the thermostat but the fan provided was a saving grace that kept us comfortable throughout the night.

I visited for work and was really pleasantly just how comfortable and well appointed this hotel was.

The breakfast was a real bonus, I didn't have any expectation, as usually just happy with a coffee, but the presentation and selection enticed me in and I really enjoyed it. The quality of the bacon and sausages was excellent.

Nothing, I thought it was great and I'm not normally someone compelled to offer a review, but it was spot on and have shared the details with colleagues, who might need somewhere to stay in the future

It had a welcoming feel when I walked in, the room was clean and tidy with all that I required for my stay.

On arrival I was asked for a mandatory £30 holding fee ‘in case I wanted to order something from the bar.’ I was not told prior to arrival that this would be necessary. I was informed it would be given back to me if I didn’t spend it when I checked out. This made me decide not to spend any more money at the hotel on principle. I was told on checking out, that the £30 has been released back to my card. 3 days later, it is still showing as a pending payment to the Moxy in my bank account. This has negatively impacted on my enjoyment of my night away for my son’s graduation, and my review has been written accordingly.

Location good and easy to find. Food acceptable and bar well stocked. Near to Plymouth Pavillions.

Car parking. System installed is abysmal. Quote from staff - it's new and we're having problems with it. Had to download an app just to park as no other method is available. The app had to be restarted 3 times before it would work as it kept telling me the venue was closed. The staff were unable to provide any more help. As I needed over 24 hours parking I had to enter the date and time of departure (Monday 11.59am). The app worked out I needed 1 day and 20 hours to take me up to the departure time. Yet on the Monday I was then texted to say my parking was expiring one hour earlier at 11.00am. We had to cut short our shopping trip and run back to the car to ensure we didn't receive a penalty notice.

Lovely stay

It was a lovely stay and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

Shower floor was dirty with hairs on it, and there was a hair roller from guest before next to the bedroom bin .

Short Plymouth visit with a comfy stay

A greeting with a welcoming cocktail, and vibrant décor, was a lovely greeting. Facilities were everything that you required. We did nit have food or refreshments in the restaurant, but the breakfast did smell good on our departure the following morning

The staff were all excellent - really warm and friendly. Special mention to Bertie who made our puppy feel like a VIP every time we came in.

It was very clean, very aesthetically pleasing, very calm vibe, and a breakfast was excellent.

The breakfast was monotonous. I was there for three nights and it was exactly the same thing I had to eat every day. It was very good breakfast but it gets a bit tiring eating the same thing over and over back to back. Also, the parking situation is less than Ideal because all the car parks next to the hotel are reserved only for disabled parking, which means I had to go far away to park and then drag my boxes all the way to the hotel.

Ok for overnight stay.

Room & bathroom lovely and clean. Beds great. Air con and coffee/tea facilities a bonus.

Room lacked any clothes storage just a rail hanging from ceiling with 4 hangers so ended up living out of suitcase. Ok for overnight but not any longer. Also it is a dog friendly hotel and not once were we asked if allergic to animals (which I am and had my room been used previously for dogs it could have triggered asthma attack) I also complained that dogs had been allowed in restaurant when breakfast was being served and that a member of staff got onto knees to fuss the dogs and went straight into kitchen. Hotel said it shouldn’t happen but it did! New hotel located next to a building site, location not great

Airconditioning worked which is good because sometimes it’s hard to regulate body temperature Shower settings easy to understand and pressure was perfect Supplied towels and washing supplies!

- couldn’t stream services without a hdmi - wish there was more knowledge how room service worked - could have had more decaf coffee in the room - could have had places to sit down outside the accomodation to take important calls or just to cool down especially because we were near the sea - map of local areas that could be toured about and numbers to local taxi firms - water machine for water - coloured lights in bedroom would have been awesome for additional cost

Nice and friendly staff. Modern functional rooms, everything very new. Good breakfast buffet. Location close to the Barbican and the harbor.
