Excellent hotel

The location was very good. The hotel rooms were a good size and very clean with plenty of space for clothes. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. We liked the overall ambience of the hotel. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. One evening we ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Very good value for money. Would highly recommend. Lots of parking space.

Certainly not as high end as they think they are. Room is nice though

The room was nicely designed and modern. Had a luxury feel Deposit was refunded very quickly They offered to prepare me breakfast to take with me in the morning as I was checking out early Nice toiletries, dressing gown and slippers

On arrival you will be asked to pay £50 deposit in case you stain carpet, which is really not an upclass hotel thing to do. They will also ask you for a copy of your ID. I asked how this private information is being stored and at what point it is destroyed and they had no idea. No information was volunteered about breakfast, I had to ask about everything There are lots of doors at the front but none of them are marked as entrance so you have to keep wondering about to find the right one There is no lift and no one to help to take your suitcase up Carpet on the stairs very dirty and needs deep clean which makes it laughable that they ask for a deposit in case you stain something Mattress had no mattress protector and one of the dressing gowns had a hole in the sleeve The cushions were very flat and need to be replaced The lights above the bath were all dusty and need a serious clean There were no tissues in the bathroom. I expect that in most hotels that consider themselves higher end

Fantastic night away

It was warm clean welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Jodi and her team are all fantastic will def return. Breakfast was fantastic

Staff were all really friendly. Check in girl Fiona was extremely helpful, friendly & professional and assisted us with a more convenient check in time. Male staff also helpful too holding doors to help with our luggage extra. Room was really clean, quiet & comfortable and beautifully decorated. Very nice art & the rain shower is amazing. Very happy. We’ve been staying for over 30 years now and it’s always our go to place when we need a trip to the city

Incredible stay at The Balmoral

My Husband and I had a fantastic evening being entertained by the Brillient Brian Kennedy, Highway 56 & John Garrity with an overnight stay at The Balmoral Hotel. Food was Incredible (compliments to the Chef), All of the Staff were Implicible, the Service that we received from everyone was Excellent.

The main bedroom could be a little more modern. Bathroom door is really old looking and the room was really warm so a bit stuffy. Had to open the window to cool down at night

Food in the restaurant was lovely for dinner.

I stayed in Room 21 and there was an extractor fan or vent outside my window which was running all night ,I didn't get any sleep .I tried ringing reception but there was no answer. The noise stopped at 5.29am and I had to get up at 6.00am. I said it to the lady at reception the following morning.

BedRoom was over their event room and because it was Saturday night the party below did not end until 12.45 the room vibrated with the noise of the music and DJ Rang and asked to be moved but was not entertained at all only offered a reduction when we booked again 😡 that won’t be happening 👎

The Food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful

The standard of the twin rooms was very poor. Dated and very dusty. Very strong smell of air freshener to cover up the poor quality tiling in the bathrooms with a strong urine smell. We had been given a room initially and the mell of sewage from the bathroom was intoxicating. We were lived to another room and despite it being better it was just passable.

Fantastic breakfast that set you up for the day. Warm welcome, accommodating, attentive and prompt service.

Not ideal if you’re on a business trip and you want to actually have a rest.

Decent location. Plenty of parking spaces. Good internet signal in the room.

The walls of the room are made of cardboard. I could hear perfectly the neighbour on the left chatting with his mrs on the phone, and I could hear what tv shows the neighbour on the right side was watching. To make it worse, they had a disco or karaoke downstairs, with music blasting out the speakers till after 23:00. Rang the reception about what’s all that racket about and I’ve been told that it was a pre-booked event. Needless to say I didn’t sleep much that night.

I had a pleasant stay with everything I wanted and staff were so friendly.

What I liked was that there were staff on site during the night. I had a bad experience in a B&B where there was no staff on site, and the landlord could not be reached at 1 am in the morning to sort out a problem. So having a night porter made me feel safe. The staff on duty were friendly and helpful.

breakfast was very good. All wait staff were very nice and quick service. Dinner restaurant was good as well. Decor was nice.

No elevator. Room was not very clean. Visible mold in bathroom on ceiling and around shower. One bed made with mattress still showing(partly uncovered ) had to remake bed. Hotel was very loud. Property was nice but room needed updating and cleaning
