Nice and cozy place for an alp experience. Friendly staff and majestic surroundings.

The alp cottage vibe. It was close to restaurants and the village center. The surroundings were astounding and the views were extraordinary. We really enjoyed breakfast fruit salad.

The room door was extremely hard to lock and unlock. We almost got ourselves locked in.

Never more !!!

In the hallway of the house there is a breakfast room on the right, then a kitchen for preparing breakfast on the right. WC and bathroom in the middle and the room on the left are separated from the hallway by a curtain, which means zero privacy for the guests. Decoration: a plastic frog and a duckling cannot disguise a dirty toilet and a moldy shower. The owner drives a new red Jaguar and unfortunately has no more money left to fix the shower door and the lock on the bedroom door. The protruding door moldings were attached with adhesive tape... If I wasn't so tired, I would rather continue driving. It wasn't a breakfast for 2 adults and one child, but rather a diet. Coffee from the Frenchpress tasted miserable. Espresso from machine was not much better. But what can you expect from a person who comes from Scotland? Better to stay overnight anywhere in Alto Adige on the way from the sea, because the quality of accommodation and gastronomy in Italy is incomparable. Never more!!!

Lovely stay in a lovely and calm town!

Lovely location with mountains right outside, just around the corner from a nice walk with a waterfall as well. Big and nice room, room was cool enough despite higher temperatures outside. We arrived late which wasn't a problem at all since we could just retrieve the key outside. Our dog was welcome as well without any issue. Great stay and Mittenwald is lovely! Also just a 15 minute walk to the start of the walking route to the Geisterklamm. Good breakfast as well!

Our room was basically next to the breakfast area etc so you can hear this in the morning. So sleeping in wouldn't be super easy unless you're a deep sleeper or have ear plugs. However, we didn't think this was a big problem, since if you have a dog to walk, want lots of time to explore or have to check out you won't be sleeping in super long anyway :).

Value Not worth the money

Owner was very friendly and welcoming.. the location was also very nice .. but 10 minutes walk from the train station..

After I booked the hotel, have tried to call the hotel to allocate a room with balcony or mountain view (to get confirmed as mentioned in the website) but unfortunately didn't receive any response. I paid 146€ for a room which is not worth at all because of its service and facilities.. in booking. Com it was mentioned that it has a private bathroom but unfortunately the bathroom was outside our living room... Another misinformation in the website is that it has mountain view which is also not true! e

Great value and lovely mountain views

We love Mittenwald and knew the area where Pension Karner was situated as being nice and quiet. We loved the view of the mountains. David our host was very friendly and helpful and our rooms was clean, comfortable and warm (very cold days when we visited) and was great value. We'd liked to have stayed another night. Breakfast good and well presented.

We arrived by train and the Pension was a little further from the station that we thought and we had some difficulty in dragging our bags through snow covered streets. Not really the fault of the hotel but maybe best to get taxi next time if we could. Might have been nice to have a kettle for tea/coffee in the room.

The breakfast, every day, was superb. A delicious mix of fruit, ham and cheeses with bread rolls, a good quality boiled egg, and really tasty coffee! Nice music playing in the background, just a great atmosphere and perfect way to start the day.

Bare bones warm place to stay with decent breakfast

no soap in the bathroom, extremely bare bones. The host and hostess greeted us through a Ring doorbell and left us on our own to find a pillowcase and duvet cover. No attempt to help us make reservations, call cabs, etc. even though our phone didn’t work there. The ad says tea and coffee making facilities. yep, there’s a pot that heats up. Bring your own tea.

Lovely stay

Our host David was very nice and friendly! The room was very clean and beautifully decorated in country style and it was so cosy and pretty! The breakfast was delicious! With a varied cheese and ham platter, and fresh eggs, served in a cute chicken bowl. They have an amazing view right outside the house. And location is great, just a short walk to Mittenwald Town. They even have a very friendly dog Bella!

Could provide hairdryer. Keys were rather difficult to use but no big issue.

Beautiful Pension in prime location with welcoming host

David was a brilliant host with an eye for detail (a honesty pot for glasses of wine/beer to enjoy the evening sun on your balcony with for example). Breakfast was fresh, appetising and filling, set in a quiet breakfast room with no sense of rush. Bedroom was an amazing size and comfortable and the Pension was nestled in a beautiful spot at the base of the mountains. David was on hand to offer local walking and other tourist tips without being overbearing.

We missed having hand soap provided in the bathroom but that was all and an inconvenience rather than a complaint

Beautiful place to stay in an absolutely beautiful village

If you want to see a traditional German house then you must book this place! The furniture is full of history and the facilities are excellent. We stayed as a group of 5 friends and absolutely loved it.
