The location of the hotel is excellent and the area is extremely beautiful. The hotel itself was awesome, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Their restaurant has an amazing breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel.

The history of the hotel, the location, and the staff made it a wonderful experience.

The location was right in the heart of the village; everything we wanted to see was within comfortable walking distance. There was free parking at the hotel. The wi-fi was great.

Cute and traditional

Really cute, traditional style hotel. Really interesting to stay there and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. bed was comfy and they had a fridge full of goodies that was completely free! We seriously enjoyed the sodas. The receptionist was absolutely lovely!

The fact they had dedicated parking was great but the parking garage was an absolute death trap - we had a volkswagen hatch back as our rental (which is a slightly longer car) and it was so hard to park in there. One night we tried about 8 different ways to get the car in and there was just no way. Staff member we asked for help was basically like "oh well, that sucks, good luck". Some lovely local lady took pity on us and let us park it in front of her house. The one night we did manage to get it in there, another car hit ours and didn't leave a note. Lucky we paid for the full coverage rental car insurance. FYI they don't have cameras in the garage or surrounding area so if anything gets stolen or damaged you have no recourse. Our room was second floor with the window/balcony over the back car park. Staff would come out and smoke right below it, so it would waft up into the room. So you basically get a smoking room unless you keep the windows shut the entire time. Noise in the evenings/mornings as the building has no soundproofing so you could hear everything,

Nice stay in the center of a beautiful town.

Great location in the center of town. Nice breakfast. Comfortable bed. Check in lady was super friendly.

The main floor of the hotel has a big restaurant. Check in is at the entrance of the restaurant so it’s a bit congested. Room was up two flights of stairs carrying luggage. Not a problem for us but maybe for others. Parking is not ideal and a bit hard to find. “Parking garage” is a barn.

A cute, authentic gasthaus, shame we didn’t sleep much!

Amazing location, great atmosphere, very authentic. Staff were friendly, gave us recommendations etc. Had free parking which was useful.

Our room was sweltering and the windows only opened a crack. The local church bells rang every 15 mins all night long, which made it hard to sleep! All looked quite well used. Charged for breakfast even though we didn’t have any.

Beautiful location to spend a night or two while travelling. Highly recommend !!!

Breakfast was great. Mix of hot and cold foods with coffee and juice. Only charge $5 euro. Most of the staff were able to speak English which helped use as we were travelling from Australia.

Parking was limited but the hotel manager sorted a spot very quickly.

Cute place but probably will not rebook.

The hotel was an easy walk from the train station and was very pretty and in the center of plenty of shopping and dining. The room was clean and well stocked with towels and a mini bar.

The room lacked ventilation except for windows being open. The room faced the street and with windows open it was noisy well until about 3am with people talking and/or smoking outside. With the windows closed the noise level was better but the room because very warm and stuffy quickly. The bell tower rang throughout the night. The pillows were lumpy and not very comfortable which combined with the noise and the temperature made for a long night with little sleep.

A truly dog friendly place, fantastic location and amazing breakfast

They really are pet friendly. They prepared blanket and bowl for our dog and what’s more even booked a table for us for breakfast so that we can come with our dog and he was comfy. Amazing! The staff is helpful and location is top notch. The breakfast was truly spectacular and good price.

A Great Stay That Will Show You The True Bavarian Life.

The location was great. It’s quiet because cars are not allowed down the street in front of hotel. Our view of the Alps was spectacular. It’s a guesthouse is historic and it’s just so incredibly cozy. The food was delicious. The Staff we’re helpful, out going, friendly and welcoming. Will stay here again.

It’s our third visit to town and every stay has been in this hotel over the past 13 - 14 years.

The hotel is in the heart of town and has an authentic Bavarian feel. The breakfast is traditional and it was a good bargain. You can begin a variety of great walks from the front door and return to have a beer on a window into southern Germany.

As I get older I like the option of Air Con and while I may not use it. I like the option when needed.

Beautiful friendly hotel in a lovely part of Bavaria

Perfectly positioned hotel in a lovely quiet village in Bavaria. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, dinner was lovely. The village is peaceful and quaint and very easy to get to places by train. The room was cosy and the bed was lovely big and comfortable. Our only downside of our stay in Mittenwald was the Gorge and the cablecar were closed but that’s not the fault of the hotel, more our lack of research. But we instead went to Garmisch and had the most amazing time going on the cable car to Zugspitz which was beautiful. We will definitely be back and recommend.

Great stay in the center of a cute mountain town

Very cute alpine hotel located right in the walking area of Mittenwald. The restaurant was full both nights we stayed there and the food there was very good. Free parking is available. It could be a little tight during busy times I think, but it was fine while we were there and we had a compact car. We would definitely stay here again.

It was a little tricky to find by car the first time. It would be very helpful if there were driving directions in the listing or on their web site.

We loved our stay here - simply charming!

We had several meals here, and all were delicious! Breakfast is a varied buffet, including meats, cheeses and breads, and served in the sunny breakfast room. We had dinner both outside, on the patio, and inside listening to live music. Both meals featured German specialties and beers, and were great.
