Nice stay

We had a lovely one night stay, room was 412, great view of Oban harbour.

The breakfast buffet is basic, the hot food was buffet style and not hot. The coffee was from a hot urn.

Not the first hotel I would pick in Oban but would consider staying again if the shower worked

Rooms were ok, could have done with more cleaning.

Shower was blocked and overflowed into bathroom floor, so couldn’t get a shower. When reported didn’t think staff were too bothered.

Delightful !! Look forward to staying again

Fab location overlooking the bay towards Kerrera, Art Deco style , old Scottish Hotel sympathetically renovated. Tina and all Reception Staff are very friendly and helpful as as staff in Dining Room, Breakfast was delicious ( vegetarian). Comfortable bed, Bottled water in room and generous amount of tea/ coffee sachets. Shower pressure is excellent !! (Don’t be put off by the facade which needs a little attention aesthetically )

Too many negatives that should never have been an issue

Decor was nice, staff members nice also

No parking, quite a lot of stair up to the property, room we booked into smelled of sewage so we went back to reception and the staff members nice on was lovely swapped room right away, bathroom wasn’t as nice and where the room was you o my have partial view of the bay so I feel like we never really got what we paid for, also the bathroom had a blob of chewing gum on the floor. Was woken up at 7am with music blaring up from the restaurant, eventually got fed up and went to reception again and they quickly rectified this, couldn’t get back to sleep after that so went down to breakfast but it was so greasy we couldn’t eat it so didn’t bother going for breakfast the next morning, the night we got there although there was still issues with new room I was so tired (had just drove 4 hours) I didn’t have the energy to complain then move room again, all the negatives completely ruined the break for us, I’m a full time carer and rarely get time so this was quite disappointing

Overall it was a great stay over New Years Eve and was everything we needed it to be. Value for money was good given the

Great location in middle of town with seafront views and everything worth doing in Oban within short walking distance. Confusing parking, very little on site, however public car park directly across street made it very easy (though had to pay for this). Dining room area is fantastic with great views out over the sea. Breakfast was good, full Scottish Breakfast as well as continental options available, as much as you like. Staff friendly and attentive.

Que to check-in, the staff were friendly, polite and attentive though were clearly understaffed and rushed off their feet at times with reception staff juggling manning the bar and the reception desk at times. The room was clean though clearly needs a bit of a revamp. Gaps in the wooden floor tiles catching your skin as you walk over them and bathroom fittings poorly installed/ maintained. All seemed a bit worn. The wait for the lift to get up and down from the higher floors was excruciating at times especially as we were on the top floor and at meal/ check out rush hour this took a long time with stairs not really being an option with suitcases in tow.

Great Hotel to stay.

Loved the comfortable room, Great facilities, Right in the heart of Oban, sonar all shops and ferry.

Didn't like the tv, although one of the staff returned it pixelated again. Quite a nuisance in the early dark nights. Really wasnt happy with the fried breakfast overcooked egg, mushroom cold and half Cooked. The scrambled egg tasted like powdered egg not nice at all. So we stuck to continental.

Slippery steps to get to foyer - I was told there would be a lift up but I had to climb steps to ask first it which was nit any use once I was in the foyer. It was available for me to exit building. I asked about having something to eat and was told the restaurant was closed. The room was particularly small. There was no room for a chair, no desk area, only where kettle etc was placed. The bed was a hazard as it slid along the floor while I sat in it or moved.

This was my 2nd time staying here and I will be back. The best thing about the place is the staff - they are all super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. I even got a free upgrade to a double room :) the beds are so comfy and another great thing about this hotel is that the heating in the rooms is really effective - I am someone who feels the cold but the rooms are lovely and warm - and you can adjust the settings so no need to keep heating on if you are not someone who feels the cold!

Location is perfect. Room was nice, quite small but ok. We paid for sea view which we got.

It wasn’t too clean, I walked in my socks across the room once and they were covered in dirt. It’s an old building and there is huge condensation on the windows, especially in the bathroom, it even started leaking down and wall and made a puddle on the floor. There was only one towel when we arrived so we had to ask at reception. Bathroom is pretty old, with mould growing around the seals, but I guess that’s everywhere in humid Scotland.

We booked a room with views however faced onto a wall overlooking the bin alley so disappointed and bins got emptied so was woken at 6.45am. The window did not open and room became very hot during the night. The drinks were expensive in bar for example we were charged £21 for 2 glasses of the house red wine and the other round was also over £20 for two drinks (standard spirits with mixer). Given the location and its a 3 star hotel drinks too high and we were the only 2 people in the bar so lacked atmosphere.

Lovely location but the hotel itself is basically a 2 - 3 star establishment, which is not clear from the website.

Location is excellent, the rooms are very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

On arrival, I wasn’t assigned a sea view room as requested (and confirmed by the hotel) and couldn’t change until the following day. The bathroom had an ill-fitting window and, with only a heated towel rail, was very cold even in October. The shower didn’t drain properly and risked flooding the room; I reported it but it wasn’t fixed.

Booking .com only had a twin room available which we booked but were kindly upgraded at reception . The building itself is an amazing art deco outside and carefully saved or recreated inside , but showing its age .

Very good location, and a modern en-suite bathroom.

Very small room. Very noisy at nighttime with noise from the high street and main road through Oban. Also the main drain appeared to run through our room so every time a chain was flushed by a room above us, we could hear it travelling through our room.
