Location
Bed was too narrow. Nothing to drink water from eg to clean teeth or take pills. Long way to a place to make a hot drink.

Iffley house has 8 rooms and we were in number 7 at the top. Access is via key pads - one for the house and another for the room so it's easy to come and go without having to worry about keys.
The communal spaces were clean and tidy. The fridge had plenty of space for the food and wine we bought at the nearby co-op, the oven worked well and the crockery and cutlery was clean and plentiful. There was no corkscrew, so be careful which wine you buy! In the conservatory was a comfy sofa and a handful of books and a dining table and 6 chairs. The house was warm without being hot. We heard very little noise from the road or other residents and felt very comfortable.
Our room wasn't large, but neither was it cramped. A chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables and a bucket chair were provided, but no tea making facilities. We brought our own, but there is tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the kitchen. There are also 4 double electrical sockets which is excellent. There are 2 windows with blinds which allow light to come in around the edges, so if that's a problem I would suggest an eye mask. The double bed had a firm mattress, 4 pillows and 2 cushions which made it comfortable to curl up and watch the wall mounted TV.
There is a coat hanger and shelf next to the radiator which is perfect for drying off coats after a rainy February day!
The en-suite had a shower, toilet and tiny hand basin with a mirror and shelf above it. 4 towels, a bathmat and plenty of loo paper were provided.
We were lucky enough to get our car onto the front yard parking space which was very handy and it only took half an hour to walk into the city centre - out the door, turn right and keep on going! This property is in an excellent location, easy to find, access and explore from with local shops next door.

The room size was good and clean. Easy to get into the property
We were in room 7. The bathroom was very small and we kept banging into the door and shower. It was difficult to use the sink which was tiny, and hard to get cold water. No water glasses.
The bathroom also needs looking at. There were clear black spots on the walls and ceiling. Likely condensation marks as there is no window and the extractor fan was not powerful enough to removethe steam. We had to open the window in the bedroom..
The bed was not comfortable. The mattress and pillows were too hard so neither of us slept well.

Some cosmetic features should be updated

Location- close to coffee shop, coop, fish and chip shop, bus stop.
Availability of kitchen. Prompt entry instructions.
Not having kettle in room ( as room on 2nd floor….).
Damp patch kitchen wall ( no effect on functionality).

Location relative to our needs. Warm and well decorated. Managed to get one of two parking places at the front. Despite overlooking the main Iffley Road associated noise was not intrusive.
Limited room facilities, such as cups/glasses in the room. A kettle and tea/coffee in the room would have been nice even though the kitchen had such facilities. Stairs were narrow and a bit steep but OK. Happily we arrived just before 4pm so managed to get 1 of 2 parking places at the front.

Bed very comfortable.
Nice spacious room, and very clean.
Good WiFi.
Really good to have the kitchen facilities so we could make our own breakfast.
The shower was on the small side and it's very tricky to get the water temperature working between too hot and too cold! But we managed.

I am currently pursuing this matter through booking.com and reserve the right to take further legal action if the outstanding refund is not settled promptly.
I stayed at Iffley Town House for a long-term booking and regret the decision. The property was consistently poorly managed, unsafe, and not as advertised, with multiple unresolved issues throughout my stay.
From the beginning, there were serious facility problems, including unreliable and frequently non-functional Wi-Fi (which I had to pay out of pocket to replace), unstable shower temperature, mould issues, and a room condition that did not match the listing. These problems were repeatedly raised but never properly resolved.
More concerning were the safety and conduct issues. During the weekend of 14–15 December, another guest was severely intoxicated and aggressive, shouting, screaming, kicking doors and furniture, and stomping through the property late into the night. Police were involved. I was unable to sleep and did not feel safe. This is entirely unacceptable for a paid accommodation and indicates a lack of proper guest management. I have recordings and records of these incidents.
The most serious issue occurred when the front door access code was changed without any prior notice, resulting in me being locked out of a property I had fully paid for, late in the evening, with my belongings still inside. The new code was only provided after I explicitly requested it. Changing access codes without notifying a paying guest is a serious breach of trust and basic accommodation standards.
Despite assurances, I was not refunded for unused nights after moving out early, even though the host indicated a refund would be provided. The explanation that the booking was “blocked” is not valid, as booking dates can be modified by hosts or through the platform. This issue was dragged out for weeks without resolution.
Overall, this property demonstrated poor communication, inadequate safety standards, and a lack of accountability. I would strongly caution future guests against staying here. The experience was stressful, disruptive, and far below what should be expected.

Proximity to Oxford city centre whilst being sufficiently distant as to avoid some road-noise and weekend revellers noise.
There’s nothing I don’t like about it - this was my third or fourth stay.

It was clean and tidy, modern decor. Comfortable and off street parking available.

Good location as I was attending a gig at O2. Room was clean and warm, bed and pillows were comfortable also shower was excellent.
Just a minor gripe but I could hear some traffic noise during the night.

The room was quite big and spacious, the bed was large with adequate pillows/cushions and there was lots of storage in the way of bedside table/drawers and hanging space. All the mod cons, good temperature and well ventilated. Very clean both in the bedroom and the bathroom. Love the kitchen/conservatory and outside patio garden set-up. So much space, I think I must've had it all to myself! Very convenient location.
Couldn't work out how to change the shower from the small to the big shower head. The right tap on shower fixture seemed loose, perhaps that was to do with it? Anyway It wasn't the end of the world!
The place could do with a decor refresh (paintwork in the bathroom in particular), the WiFi was very very slow.. For the price tho, I wasn't complaining as it was a very reasonable last-minute deal.

Cleanliness and size of the room
Booking.com message never got answered so we never got the twin room specified, they did correct this and gave us two separate rooms.

Good contact with the host, flexible hours of check in, easy access. Safe neighbourhood, nice walk distance from the city atractions. Bus stops near the place. A good price in comparison with hotels and B&B's in the center. A big kitchen with a good equipment.
Unfortunately the bathroom was not clean with old mold in the shower cabin and not pleasant smell - both in the bathroom and the room. We had to keep the window open despite the cold, autumn weather. The place would be really nice but now it needs some refresh.

We were very comfortable here. It was easy to locate and enter. The room was clean and warm. Well equipped. Great value for money. Easy walk from central Oxford and close to good pubs and restaurants.
Nothing really. Wi-Fi was a bit wobbly but otherwise all great

For a single room facing the main road, it was spacious and quiet. All clean and comfortable, no frills or extras in the room but it was what I needed and good value. Very large kitchen/dining space. Fabulous bakery and Coop nearby.
I might have needed a hairdryer which I would expect in a hotel. Maybe I just didn’t spot it.

Stayed in room 4 with king bed - very nice, enough space to move around. Kitchen was well supplied, we made our breakfasts there each morning
One week previously, we stayed in room 2 - a double bed. This room was too small for us.

I booked this properly while in a queue at a petrol station about an hour from Oxford. 1 hour later I was in and having a shower, I love it when the booking and check in process is as smooth as that. It's a big house on Ifley Road in Oxford. A great location with parking for 1 or 2 cars on the driveway out front. I think I was the only person in the house and had access to the downstairs front bedroom with ensuite. The road noise wasn't too bad but was noticable at times. Everything was immaculate. The shower was great, well equipped shared kitchen and conservatory sitting room. All in all, everything I needed at short notice. There's a corner shop about 2 mins away and great pub 2 mins in the other direction.
Having to supply my driving license number during check in was a bit of a faff and not something I expect when booking via Booking.com (which I do every week without fail).

Was my first time staying in a house converted into rooms like a hotel, but without anyone on site. Felt a little weird to just let yourself in, but the place was lovely. The room was surprisingly spacious for half the price of a hotel, was spotlessly clean and had a good sized shower in the en-suite bathroom. Very quiet and warm that I slept with the window open despite being on a main road in Oxford. Had a quick explore in the morning of the shared kitchen and enclosed garden room and they too were spotless and the kitchen was huge.
Nothing, it was lovely.

Size of the room, comfort of the bed, cleanlinesss of the room and en suite. Simple check-in and check out. Good location.
The price was not exceptionally convenient.

The bed was comfortable, the communal dining room light and spacious
The single room was tiny, you can only just walk between the bed and wall. It has an ensuite like a cupboard, you can barely turn around in it. There are no staff on site. No attention to detail, there were holes in the wall of the bathroom where presumably a towel rail had been. It is more like a hostel - but with rooms ensuite and a communal kitchen and dining room, which were well equipped and clean. It was £95 for this room and it was poor value. A travel lodge/premier inn would be in the same price range and give a real service. The images and layout suggest that double rooms are good but avoid single rooms and be aware you enter with a front door and room code that you need to carry and remember at all times and that the kitchen is the only place for water and tea making and there are no staff. It is clean and functional but not an experience and single rooms seem poor value.

The staff didn't even acknowledge me as a human being. I greeted them several times and they didn't respond at all. I guess that they were just irritated with me being in the common space busy with a work virtual meeting (?). Though no other guests were there...

Location was excellent with lots of pubs, cafes, and restaurants close by
The locking mechanism on the front door gave me considerable issues and I struggled to enter the property at times. Someone also left the window open with the light on which attracted many small flies into the room. The price for a single room was eccessive although that seems to be England prices.
9.0 / 10.0
A clean, simple, stylishly furnished guest house which is great value for money. Room 4 (king size) was spacious with a huge, comfortable bed and pretty views over gardens. Nice and quiet too.
Duvet could have been bigger!
8.0 / 10.0
Comfortable and clean room and communal areas, nicely presented. We were glad to be at the back of the house, as Iffley Road is busy.
In the room 7 bathroom,
the loo roll holder is hanging off the wall, the shower fitment to the wall is loose and the overhead shower badly needs de-scaling - it is almost unusable (we used the hand held alternative).
There was no bath mat. A bath mat is not strictly essential - although usually provided - but it is essential in room 7, where there is a very small basin with a glass shelf immediately above it; the effect is that you cannot use the basin for anything except hand washing without flooding the bathroom floor and risking smacking your face against the shelf. Washing your face and cleaning your teeth is very difficult.
7.0 / 10.0
A bit far from the center, but a correct and a typical English house. A big kitchen you can use and a also a big patio to relax. The value is not bad.
Quite a small room and a bit outdated. Also it could be a bit more comfortable.
