I recently stayed at a hotel that boasted a contemporary decoration style and a lovely view of a backyard lined with charming houses. However, my experience was marred by several significant issues.
The self-check-in terminal was quite tricky to navigate. It required a booking number that was not the Agoda number I had, which added unnecessary frustration upon arrival.
The most concerning aspect was the security of the room. While it had plenty of windows, some could not be locked and were accessible from the outside. As my room was on the first floor, directly above a flat roof, it was alarmingly easy for someone to climb up and enter through the window. When I reported this to the staff, they were dismissive, insisting that everything would be fine without even checking the windows themselves. The manager's attitude was particularly disappointing; when I inquired about holding the hotel accountable for any potential security breaches, I was met with rudeness.
To add to the chaos, on the last day of my stay, the smoke detector blared loudly throughout the building due to someone on the ground floor burning toast. This was disruptive and highlighted a lack of effective management.
Overall, while the hotel had beautiful aesthetics and a pleasant location, the lack of attention to security and poor customer service left a sour impression. It’s unfortunate, as this hotel has great potential, but serious improvements are needed in both security measures and staff training.
