What a Gem!

What a gem! Absolutely spotless, lovely decor, great quality bedding, plenty of parking, friendly host who really made us feel comfortable and yummy breakfast.

That we only stayed one night. If we had known how lovely this place was we would have made this our base for our Highlands break rather than move around

Location is good with Parking. It’s a house converted into a guest house.

The owner (as it is a guest house) switches off the heater in the room at 11pm and reopens 6-8am. This is very uncomfortable as it’s freezing cold in Inverness. He says this is energy saving. My wife got sick and cold due to this and our forward trip to london was filled with medicines.

Lovely!!

Had a comfortable stay here and highly recommend it. Everything was exceptional, I wanted for nothing my whole stay! Well-appointed room, cozy and decorated common areas, delicious and full breakfast, and the location is perfect for getting around. Run by very lovely folks and I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Inverness :)

Friendly and cozy stay in Inverness

Wonderful full Scottish breakfast - lots of options. The morning porridge was delicious and we are still talking about the little splash of scotch that John added to each bowl! Lovely time.

A lovely stay with wonderful hosts.

Breakfast was delicious, plentiful with different choices. John and his team were very welcoming hosts, chatty and extremely helpful. It was only a short walk into the city centre so location was excellent. Would definitely recommend to others.

An excellent stay in a very central location!

I was met with parking instructions which helped as it's quite tight. The staff were excellent and the room was too. Plenty of space and a nice bathroom. The breakfast was superb with lots of variety and the quality of the cooked produce was fantastic. Moyness House is only a short hop from the centre so no need to take the car into town.

Quality comfortable and friendly place to stay

John the host gave me a free upgrade from a single to a double as the double was free and would be more comfortable. Room was very good and warm. Breakfast cooked to order and easy to make a selection of the options. It's less than 10 minute walk to Inverness centre and John gave good suggestions o where to eat. Plenty parking at the house. Moyness was the one time home of author Neil Gunn and the rooms are named after his books - nice touch!

I wish I could have stayed longer!

The house is beautiful, exterior and interior. Of course very clean and well maintained, with elegant and cosy decor . The property is centrally located, has private parking. But most importantly everyone was so nice and welcoming. Really nice breakfast was included, with lots of different options.

Lovely stay in charming B&B

Great location close to downtown Inverness but in a quiet neighborhood with easy parking. The hosts were lovely, very kind and eager to give local recommendations. There was hot water in the shower, a pretty comfortable bed, and everything else I needed in the room. Breakfast was made to order and very tasty.

I liked everything and knew what I was getting when I booked, but the room is quite small, with the toilet in a stall next to the single bed and the sink/shower on the wall across from the bed, so it might not be something that everyone would like.

Amazing with John's hospitality and incredible haggis

We had an amazing stay at The Moyness! John gave us an incredibly warm Scottish welcome that made us feel right at home. The breakfast was fabulous (the haggis was a highlight!) and the hospitality throughout our stay was outstanding. We couldn’t have wished for a better experience – highly recommended!

I had a single room, which was expensive (£90) for what I got. I should probably have researched the facilities more, but as I was paying less, for double rooms elsewhere, so I expected a very comfortable single room and bed. The bed, toilet (with only a saloon-type door to separate you from the toilet) and shower were all in the room. I'm sure the double rooms had a more traditional layout. Bed was a small single and I didn't sleep well.

Charming, cozy Victorian B and B a quick walk to town

Moyness house is a lovely Bed and Breakfast in a very convenient location. I had the smallest room, a single, and it was cute as a button. The house is an old Victorian, and the architectural details and colors are charming and put me at ease. The staff was very good, breakfast was tasty, the coffee good. I really liked Inverness more than Edinburgh because the town and the people were more friendly and cozy. It was a really good value.

Very welcoming vibe in this family friendly house.

Staff were friendly. Owner, Johnstone, was very engaging and took time to show my wife and daughters the chickens. Bedroom was very clean and tidy. En suite bathroom was excellent. The breakfast was exceptional. Didn't need fed for most of the day after that feast.

Host does not allow access after the stated check in times.

The property is serious about the check in times. I had advised the host that we would be further delayed due to a 1 1/2 hour construction stop on the A 9, the house was locked up and no one answered the door or phone. My party slept in the car outside the house. I met the host John the next morning at 6 am and was greeted with what was I thinking showing up at midnight and stated that they had a life and were gone when my message was sent and so it wasn’t received. I was told there was no way it could have taken as long as it did to get from the Scabster ferry to his house and he “knows we went somewhere else “. I apologized and asked if we could have access to the room that we paid for to shower and sleep for a few hours and was told no. John did say we could join them for breakfast at 8:30, but would have to wait in the car for the 2 hours. We chose to go elsewhere. The house looked lovely from the outside, but if you are unable to check in between the stated time, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Comfortable room at a nice location with helpful owners.

Beautiful sitting room and dining room and John kindly made me some lunch to take with me as I had a train to catch and couldn’t stay for a full breakfast. Nice quiet location 15 minutes walk from the city centre.

The outlook from my room was nothing special. There was no bedside lamp. I was late being checked in due to the early arrival of other guests which meant John was out shopping when I arrived.
