Bike storage, comfortable, I’d stay again

We loved Arromanches and its history, and this was a great place to stay

Perfect location for D-Day sites, very clean and comfortable, friendly and helpful receptionist. Good to be able to park so easily and close to EV charging facilities.

Friendly staff, great location, price was a little high

The staff were friendly and supportive. When we felt hot, a fan was given to us to make us more comfortable. They were very nice. There was a convenient fridge in the room.

There were no insect screens on the windows. Every evening we were bitten by mosquitos. Also, water at the bottom of the shower door would bounce out onto the floor. The floor at the base of the shower would end up wet and you have to wipe the floor, wring the shower mat and hang to dry. The shower door needs a deflector at the bottom to avoid the water from bouncing out. Also, at night, someone was smoking downstairs so the smoke drifted into our room and we would have to close the window.

Great location, fantastic hotel.

This hotel was ideal for us, family 4 - 2 adults 13 year old and 9 year old. The hotel was great, location is amazing 5 mins walk from the beach and centre. 1 min to a local shop. The room had a mini fridge which with 2 children and a heat wave it was amazing. No air con but large fan that worked good for us. The staff were great, breakfast was a little disappointing but it we only added it for the first day so grabbed a pastry from the local bakery and ate on the beach. The room was big for four people. The location was great for exploring the local ww2 sights. We had a car my husband went off to explained and I felt more than safe with the children on the beach and getting food and drink for them. We would definitely stay here again.

The parking was tight but that’s just us first time driving in France with a big hire car. Would do breakfast again. Oh and a brush for a sandy floor would be great

Superb value for money!

Clean rooms w comfortable beds. Slept very well. Helpful and serviceminded host, which we communicated well with decpite the language barrier.

Tight parking for our big SUV. But we arrived very late and left quite early, so we could make use of the free parking just across the street (which is only 1.5 h during the day, but ok park over night).

Lovely staff (family?) run hotel - very accommodating hosts.

Ideal location, easy walking into town for restaurants, bars and beach. Clean and comfortable room. Arrived very early but we were given a parking space. Returned an hour before room available to find note on car telling us which room we were in and were able to access even though reception was closed. On checkout we had missed breakfast but were offered the option to choose from what remained available before they cleared - there was plenty left.

Would we want to stay here again… Yes definitely!

Location, easy to find and just a few minutes walk from centre of Arromanches and the sea. Private, off road parking. A friendly greeting from the owner Damien who explained the facilities then showed us our room. The room itself was on the first floor. It was spacious, clean, fully functional with a most comfortable bed. There is good storage space, including a built in safe. It has a tea & coffee hospitality tray and it has a fridge. A good sized en-suite shower room with powerful shower. The full continental breakfast was quite amazing, such a selection. We enjoyed every bit of it. Damien was there every morning to ensure nothing ran out. Parking and breakfasts were an additional cost but well worth it. Overall we highly recommend Le Hôtel l’idéal and our host Damien.

In summary, this was a nice, small hotel (9 rooms), clean and comfortable, and in a good location.

Staff was helpful. Rooms were modern and clean, beds were comfortable and made up each day. Breakfast was very good, but priced a little higher than we had experienced elsewhere on our trip. Hotel was only a couple of hundred meters from the main street of Arromanches-les-bains, its restaurants, museum, and Gold Beach. Staff was very helpful and friendly. This was our third visit to Arromanches-les-bains but our first stay in the Mountbatten. We would definitely stay there again.

Our rooms were on the first floor (second level) which can only be reached by a relatively steep external staircase. Carting our suitcases up and down that staircase was not an easy task.

Perfect location for visiting the d day beaches

Really liked staying here, even though we checked in late due to the traffic at Caen. Damien the host met us and was very welcoming. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the bathroom and room in general a very good size. I cannot say I disliked this property but just my observation, I would have liked a light in the little area where the shelves for clothes are, this would have made it lighter, especially when using the safe. Also would have liked a few more English speaking channels even if it was just the news. Maybe investing in sky or something similar.

A convenient and comfortable stay in a good location.

The location--2 minutes to the beach and centre shops and bars. The quality of the room--far exceeded our expectation given the exteriors resemblance to a motel. Would be happy to stay again--just remember to pre book the parking space! Best attraction?-sitting on the terrace of the Marine hotel with a few drinks watching the sun going down!

A reduced breakfast charge is needed for children--11 euros per person whatever age. We strolled into town instead.

Superb

The hotel is very well located, short walk to all venues. Opposite is also a convenience store if you need to buy something. In front of the hotel is main town parking but there wasn´t much noise coming from it. The room itself was great, very very spacious, with amenities and everything you may need. We even got a table and chairs in the garden. We did not get the breakfast, it felt a bit overpriced.
