The bed was large and comfy and the shower worked. The continental breakfast was good.
It was very tired and shabby with broken lamps. Tatty, dirty carpet that was curled up. A health and safety issue.
I waited 45 mins after the check in time (4pm) as it wasn’t ready. The key lock was empty
Shame I can’t show you the breakfast. That was nice.
The maid tried her best to hurry up, she was lovely.

Great contact before our stay and instructions for collecting key & checking in. Great room facilities comfortable bed, great to have complimentary water & nice tea & coffee facilities. Lovely room
The noise from traffic was loud as our room was close to the road old windows failed to keep cold and noise out. On arrival we found the room was very cold but it was January. Car parking spaces were predominently water swamped on the grass following heavy rain. Car park was poorly lit and no hard standing spaces left. We struggled for a long time to get the car out.

Well equipped with clear instructions.
You are all a bit on top of each other (but the room itself is private) and the toilet hadn’t been cleaned.

Nice old home, good location near airport and beds were comfy and large with lots of towels! Had a desk to do some work and good coffee
Doors are thin and old wooden style, so can hear other people in other rooms
Weird setup in the room that the shower is in the room but it didn't really make a difference

Our quadruple room was lovely clean and cosy with continental breakfast in the fridge. We booked at the airport at 9pm and arrived at 9.45pm and all was ready for us.

We received a friendly welcome from our hosts and found the room had everything in it we needed . There was a coffee maker, a toaster, a tea tray with biscuits, ordinary and oat milk and a corkscrew if needed. There was soap, shampoo and showergel in the dispensers. The bed was like a marshmellow and the pillows so comfortable. There was an additional heater just in case. All in all a lovely experience and a scenic, 9 minute drive to the airport.

Self checkin was easy thanks to clear instructions with owners easy to reach as we had not stayed in a self checkin before. Cozy and convenient. Good breakfast at our disposable with all we needed.
We arrived late at night so had a bit of a problem finding the house in the dark. Thanks to the owners who were easy to reach by phone, we had more accurate instructions as the exact address wasn’t on booking.com

Very convenient for an overnight stay prior to an early Gatwick flight. Huge and quirky room.

I had an exceptional stay in the Blue Room! Being able to check in two hours early made my one-night visit incredibly smooth. The room was spotless, charming, and included a private bathroom. I absolutely loved the freestanding bathtub—it made my bath an amazing experience. I can highly recommend this room to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

We landed at midnight, and after a few minutes, we were in our room getting ready for bed. All instructions on how to access the room were so clear.
The private bathroom was in the corridor.

Lovely old farmhouse set back far enough from a busy road to not be at all noisy. The house and gardens are a lovely setting with some huge veteran trees and lovely old apple trees.
The hosts have thought of everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. The huge bed and bedding in particular was fabulous. You can't beat 100% cotton - an important detail that so many hosts get wrong.
The old farmhouse has been designed and decorated sympathetically for rental use, for example by using reclaimed pine for the woodwork.

The host/cleaning lady was responsive to the guests' requests to change the breakfast offering a little and brought a heater when they said they felt cold.
The property is not as it appears on its Booking.com web page. The house is dilapidated on the outside - not at all like the photos. The extensive lawns and paved areas are covered in parked cars. We had trouble turning and driving in and out of the property.
While the host has renovated the bathrooms in each room, my guests' room was shabbily furnished with nothing matching and all the furniture was well worn. Despite an attractive new bathroom suite, the shower tray had not been changed in the guests' shower room and was shabby. The toiletry caddy had come off the wall and was lying in the shower tray.
The carpet needed a deep clean and was worn in places. The house smelled damp and the guests had to leave the property after a few nights, having complained that, after a wet day, their beds were damp and they had felt cold through the night. We appreciate the property is old, but it shouldn't be damp.
There were several appliances loaded onto one of the extension leads in the room (fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee machine) and this was a cause of concern for the guests. We didn't spot a smoke detector in the room.
The lovely lawns that surround the property in the photos are now covered with parked cars - presumably airport users, as is every conceivable space in the grounds. We had trouble driving in and out of the driveway and couldn't use the guest parking area.
The property is shabby and not as described in the photos. I cannot imagine how it ever got an AA four-star rating, as on the certificate displayed on the first floor.

The room was well decorated and plenty of tea, coffee, milk and sugar.
We hadn’t ordered a breakfast so we were pleasantly surprised to find some cereal as well as bottled water. The hosts had thought of everything!

The accommodation was booked for my elderly sister and husband, and the White House could not have been more helpful in making sure they arrived safely and had everything they needed. They even messaged me to let me know everything was fine.
I haven’t had a full report on their stay, but I hear it was very comfortable and a beautiful old house. Thank you.

The bed was comfortable. If driving everywhere decent location. Close to a120 and m11.
Old, run down, and in need of total refurbishment.
Location. Nothing really in the village. Pub, fish and chip shop and little convenience story within walking distance. Otherwise, anything else you have to drive to.
Parking. Awful. This place is used as off site parking for Stansted Airport. Chocablock with cars. Tetras! Comes to mind.
Conkers falling out of trees and hitting all the cars beneath. This sounds a bit random but it was windy yesterday evening and OMG .. loads of them were falling onto the cars.
Staffing. No reception or staff at location.
Room. Old and falling apart. Ceiling around shower head looks like it's about to fall down. Cracks in ceilings and walls.
Shower cubicle in the room and visible to anyone else staying with you.
Carpet soaking wet in front of shower, and other parts of carpet quite badly stained.
Random light row above the bed. One light bulb missing.
Dreadfull condensation on windows.
Two pillows had marks / stains on them.
Breakfast. Awful. Four slices of bread and two ropey croissants in a condensated sandwich bag in fridge.
Dirty cereal bowl. Dry food present. There was fresh milk, small cereal packs and a ropey looking plate of fruit. Couple of yoghurts.
This was £90 odd quid for the night. I think that was with a discount I'd been awarded from booking.com.
I've stayed in tons of guest rooms, bandbs and hotels over the last few years, and price for price this is the worst one I've stayed at.

Nothing!
On arrival at the Whitehouse in Takely, we thought we'd got the wrong place! It looked derelict!! From the outside it looked unkempt in fact dilapidated! We let ourselves into the property via a key safe. The carpet on the stairs was worn badly quite threadbare. The room had a damp fusty smell, the bedding felt damp, the shower head on the ceiling looked as if it would fall off at any time and the shower tray was stained badly! We decided we couldn't stay there definitely not to sleep! We were flying from Stansted early in the morning and only needed a bed for a few hours, but couldn't face it! We checked in at the Novotel which is even closer to the airport, this was only £20 more than we paid for a night at the "award winning " Whitehouse! If ever we fly from Stansted again, we will book the Novotel. We paid £89 for the Whitehouse which is not expensive for a hotel room normally, but the worst £89 we have ever spent!! The property is badly in need of a refurbishment, even the grounds! We wouldn't even want to leave our car there!. Needless to say, we won't be staying there ever again or recommending it to anyone! Disappointed is an understatement! What worries me, is that on booking.com, most of the reviews are positive? That's why I booked it. We aren't fussy people with high standards and not normally critical. If there had been any staff present, we would have complained and asked for a refund!!!

The location is good, even without a car. You can take the bus, and it's only a 5-minute walk.
It was very well organized.
There was breakfast in the fridge and many special touches. They offered a lot, and put a lot of thought into it.
I liked it a lot

An easy taxi ride away. We were arriving late so the hosts sent us instructions for entering the property which was straighforward.
The room was spacious, comfortable with two twin beds and a single bed. The shower room was separate from the bathroom and both fully tiled and new-looking with soft waffle-style towels. The room itself, as with the rest of the house, is old but quaint and clean. We were very comfortable and slept well. Breakfast, had we opted for it, would have been left in the fridge, even so there was a coffee machine, a kettle, tea and biscuits.
Nothing.

Great facility for travel from Stansted airport - really cosy room, lovely and clean and lovely prepared breakfast x very homely and welcoming feel - very good communication with the owner about parking - also great facility for parking
The cups were too small for a cup of tea!

Spacious room, really comfy beds, very smart ensuite bathroom.
Tea, coffee, and milk provided, along with toaster and kettle.
Games and books available on landing, and TV in room.
Comfy armchair, table and extra seat useful for eating meals.
Delicious fresh fruit, yoghurt and croissants left in fridge for breakfast .
The only thing wrong was the shower. First of all it was completely cold, even after running for a long time. I was about to give up when it suddenly sprang into life with warm water, then after a while it suddenly went absolutely scorching, and wouldn't cool down, even on the lowest temperature setting.
Beware with children.

B&b was in a great location, only 10 mins from Stansted Airport. We stayed there for one night after our holiday before driving back and the room was very spacious and had a good range of breakfast options in the fridge.

It’s an old house, but overall it was clean and okay to stay in.
The Eircode didn’t match the actual location, and some grapes at breakfast had mold.
