Beautiful character hotel in a stunning location

A character and setting of this beautiful hotel in the historic quarter was a real surprise. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even gave us a dog bed and dog treats for our pooch.

To carry heavy luggage down some stairs upon entry without a lift was annoying. Although parking was secure outside the hotel, I thought it was expensive. The directions and access to drive into the parking area need improving.

This hotel was a lucky find.

The hotel is a luxuriously converted city fort, 20 min walk (some of it through a park) from the city centre pedestrian zone. Our room was very generous, with a roomy bathroom. The hotel also has a fine restaurant and parking outside the front entrance.

In the entrance is a large sign RECEPTION with an arrow pointing down a set of stairs but, once down there, no reception is apparent - no sign, just a couple of cocktail tables with cards on top. (It turned out that check-in is done on laptops that the receptionists bring with them from behind the curtain once they notice new arrivals.)

Very nice and comfortable business hotel with very large rooms. Bed was super comfy.

Very nice business hotel. Situated in a history building. Very large room, lots of privacy. Easy walk to the city center and the river. Quiet, also at night, we were able to sleep with open windows although this is in the center of the city. Parking is not cheap at 18 EUR per night, but that was as advertised and therefore known. This is a higher end hotel with a lot of comfort, which has its price. I would definitively stay here again.

A good hotel spoilt by a couple of things.

Nice room, very clean room and comfy bed. Great food at the restaurant, . Very helpful staff, very pleasant . Quality safe, large enough for laptop. Excellent position to walk into town. Car parking on site Would stay here again, quality is good.

The shower was next to useless which was a great disappointment to me. Good for a wife to wash her hair whilst sat in the bath but for a man who showers twice a day forget it, it's a sprinkle. The room was very dark even with every available light on. Took a far larger deposit for my stay than was necessary on check in and then credited my card with the balance on exit . That's a first for me, and no I didn't like it .

A superior McHotel

Nicely appointed modern 4 star hotel in historic building. Feels, and probably is, fresh and new. Large room with excellent bathroom. For its category, it was ok if sparsely furnished, which had the positive side-effect of making it feel even bigger. Good if somewhat impersonal restaurant (in a town crammed with options) and friendly staff. The hotel is well situated for motorway access yet a few short minutes walk from the bustling town centre and a beautiful park. There is no reception in the conventional sense but the actual reception staff (who do it all on mobile phones) were good and friendly.

Not much other than a general lack of any specific character, especially so in the (otherwise pretty good) restaurant.

Spacious Room and comfortable beds.

I asked the receptionist if we could still have breakfast, because we were a bit late. He told me to go ask the staff myself and was reluctant to assist me. However, there was no staff at the restaurant, so we left without having any breakfast.

Fabulous place to stay as your first stop from UK through France and Europe

Brilliant location in Metz as a first stop on our journey through France to Switzerland The staff were extremely welcoming, interactive and embarrassingly all spoke good English, something we brits need to return better Restaurant was excellent and provided a gastronomic meal for day 1 of or 13 day experience Room was fantastic and shower brilliant followed by a lovely breakfast to set us on our way We accidentally left something in the room which they posted onto us

a high quality hotel not entirely performing

a very sleek new property. a good breakfast and a very good dinner. helpful restaurant staff

the room was very dusty - not exactly dirty, but not entirely clean either. the reception staff were a bit hit and miss: we arrived a couple of hours early and they tried to charge for early check in (they had plenty of empty rooms).
