charming and tasteful place to visit Metz at its best.

Service, room quality and design with the atmosphere of the 18 - 19th century, quiet location in the very centre of Metz, easy parking nearby, breakfast with Italian espresso were all excellent and recommendable for a very reasonable price.

Room was a bit chilly at arrival, but then quickly warmed up, and there was no fridge in the room. These were the only points I was able to find.

A quaint French hotel.

A quaint hotel decorated in the French style close to the Metz cathedral and easy walking to restaurants and bars.

Parking is away from the hotel but it is in a underground public parking garage

Highly recommend for location and value.

Location is excellent. Beautiful view of the Cathedral from the breakfast room. The breakfast included far more than we could eat. Breads, pastries, boiled eggs, cheese, meats and a large variety of fruit. Choice of coffee - lattes were excellent. Old old hotel but the bathrooms have been updated.

For those with limited mobility, the lack of elevator might be problematic. It was quite a hike to to top floor!

Very enjoyable stay, totally recommended for the historical centre of Metz.

The welcoming staff, including how they welcomed our dog. The city-centre location directly across from the cathedral. Beautiful large room with many historic features and superb view of the cathedral. Exceedingly comfortable bed. Delicious, fresh breakfast with a massive selection of different fresh fruits. Lovely lunch in the hotel restaurant. Very fast WiFi connection.

Very pleasant stay in the wonderful town of Metz

Central location near many restaurants and the market, beautiful view of the cathedral, air conditioned rooms and a small and pleasant common terrace for all to use. Room windows have excellent soundproofing.

The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, which might be a disadvantage for some, though everything is clean and well-maintained. There is no lift; you need to be able to carry your bags upstairs. I appreciated the exercise!

Beautiful old property with lovely furnishings. Extremely comfy bed! Perfect location opposite the cathedral and near to lovely bars and restaurants. Close to the river too for an evening stroll. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast delicious and plentiful and parking within a stone’s throw and secure. Very highly recommended ⭐️

The location was excellent, right outside cathedral and by so any restaurants. Hotel was lovely-clean, spacious, lots of old historic details but updated bathroom, comfortable beds. It is a family run hotel with such nice staff. Loved my room 105

Perfect spot for our quick overnight in Metz.

The location of the hotel was perfect - right across from the Cathedral. We could see the market setting up in the morning and walked over for fresh pastries.

Excellent location, comfortable clean room, and friendly staff.

The hotel is in an excellent location close to many historical sites, cathedrals, restaurants, stores, parks, and the covered market. The train station and multiple launderettes are within 20 minutes walking distance as well. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and was historical like the rest of the hotel. The shower was very good and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The location was good. The building was furnished in a cozy elegant, albeit not too functinal way.

I stayed at the third floor of this ancient building. I didn't know it hadn't any elevator. The old wooden stairs were incredibly steep and it took quite an effort to reach this floor with and without the luggage. I do not have any physical impairment and I am not particularly old (nor young: I am in my sixties) so I accepted the room but if I knew the stairs were these steep and the third floor so high I would not have accepted. The owners should definitely highlight this failure.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic location, warm and friendly atmosphere

Staying the Hotel de la Cathedrale was such an amazing experience that I can only wholeheartedly recommend. We were greeted with a warm and friendly smile upon arrival and then personally escorted to our magical room on the top floor under the wooden beams of the ancient roof with the most perfect view of the stunning 14th century Cathedral. We had requested a view of the Cathedral and a view we got. The breakfast buffet was nice and varied, the service impeccable, and the fruit display a veritable piece of art. There was a bit of noise from the street in the evening, but that's to be expected when one stays in the heart of a lively city. There's an impressive choice of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and then of course all the amazing historical sites in and around Metz. I fell in love with Metz and will definitely stay at the Hotel de la Cathedrale next time :-)

The history, location and uniqueness of the hotel makes it a superb choice.

The staff was great. The view of the church was lovely. The location could not have been better for walking around the city.

Having to hall my very large luggage up 4 sets of stairs. Maybe it was stated there was no elevator, but I would have brought less to the room if I know I would be hauling it up 4 flights.

Very good location. Old fashioned hotel but in a good way! Character but with all the mod cons. If we would have had a better room my rating would have been better.

We had a tiny room adjacent to the smoking terrace. All our windows opened to this smoking terrace. We could not even open the curtains without having people looking right into our room and the smell of smoke.
