Great location, wonderful facilities and rooms, and the nicest proprietors you could ever meet.

Beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast, great location. Easily walkable to the city center without being loud or busy at all at night. Ian and David, the proprietors, were so hospitable, and their kindness, advice, and service were the best parts of the stay. I hope to return and would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful property very clean the breakfast was cooked fresh to order and the ingredients were very tasty nothing was too much trouble

The location was a little out of the centre however there was a very regular bus service every 10 mins with the bus stop just outside or you could walk it in 25 to 30 mins steady walk

Perfect cozy stay

Everything was simply PERFECT. Ian and David were so kind and always available in case of need. The room was large and clean, the position was very good for a short pleasure stay. Breakfast was soooo good!

Ian and David were absolutely brilliant hosts and really made our stay in Edinburgh feel special from the moment we arrived. They were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The facilities themselves were lovely, and the overall atmosphere was calm and comfortable. Our room exceeded all expectations and it was spotless, spacious, and beautifully presented. The cleanliness and comfort were genuinely outstanding, and I should add the breakfast was so lovely, and lot’s of variety to choose from. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend staying here.

Just perfect

Everything was just perfect. The hosts were great and especially the breakfast was absolutely amazing, like in a top hotel. The separate bathroom was fully renovated and also hotel-like. Every detail seemed fully thought-through and contributed to the overall experience. The location is also great for exploring the city (bus stop right in front of the house). I really enjoyed my stay!

Great attention to detail and Fantastic service Fantastic breakfast and friendly conversation lovely rooms and facilities. Hygienic. Location is accessible to both the old town and the new town. Bus and taxi services are closed to the guest house and David and Ian’s friendly service makes you feel home away from home.

As a solo traveler and a young female, I couldn’t ask for a better accommodation than this place.

I loved everything about this place. The hosts Ian and David and this wonderful young lady were all so attentive throughout my stay and they serve complimentary breakfast, Scottish edition, so I didn’t have to go out and pay more money. I especially love the “meat with everything” style breakfast because it was such a nice experience to really be immersed with Scottish tradition. The location was perfect because at one point, I didn’t have internet connection but because the location was so near the city Centre, I managed to find my way back safely.

Wow! This place checked off every box for us. No matter what your main priorities are when booking a hotel, Airbnb, or B&B, Castle Park Guest House has it all covered. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the wonderful owners, Ian and David. David kindly carried our heavy luggage up to the third floor, while Ian sat down with us to go over all the amenities and offer great recommendations for attractions, restaurants, and various ways to get around town. This beautifully renovated Victorian-style home perfectly blends charm with modern comforts. If you’ve traveled in Europe, you know how small the bathrooms can be—definitely not the case here! The spacious shower, comfortable king-size bed, daily room refresh, dedicated workspace, in-room coffee and tea bar, fast Wi-Fi, and a stunning view from our window were just a few of the highlights. And the breakfast each morning was absolutely lovely. Ian and David went above and beyond to accommodate every need. The location is ideal—within easy walking distance to the downtown center, the Royal Mile, and many other attractions. If you prefer not to walk, there’s a bus stop just outside with buses running about every 15 minutes. I can’t recommend this place enough. When we return, there’s no question—we’ll be staying here again. Thank you, Ian and David, for making us feel like part of your extended family.

Breakfast was tasty, sufficient, on time. The owners were able to meet the reguirement: breakfast-package to go. Location is quiet, in walking distance to the city centre. Room was super-clean, equiped with everything needed, fulfilled the expectation.

Enjoyable stay. Recommended.

Newly renovated, nicely furnished, friendly guest house. Ian and David were welcoming, available, and helpful, with excellent tips and pointers on Edinburgh in general and the local area in particular. Breakfast was very good ("Lorne sausage" is an acquired taste, but it was not compulsory). The fresh bread at breakfast (baked in-house by Ian) is a lovely touch! Location is decent for access to the Old Town, with a very pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the Royal Mile. The regular buses cut that time in half.

My only quibbles were that my single room at the top of the house, having sealed windows, was not especially well-ventilated, so it got a little stuffy. And the bathroom being separate from the bedroom was a slight inconvenience (but the bathroom itself was spacious and very well-appointed—the shower in particular). Neither was a serious issue.

I felt like a princess from the moment I arrived until it was time to leave. Delicious, homemade breakfast! Clean and fresh everywhere. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and well equipped. The house is on a quiet street but only with a short walk to “everything”. I definitely recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. Ian and David were great hosts - welcoming, friendly and helpful. The whole place, including the room and bathroom, was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of menu choice, including vegetarian/vegan. We particularly appreciated the attention to details such as providing a variety of teas and snacks in the breakfast room, minimising food waste and providing a recycling bin. Very convenient location for walking to the castle and old town, and an easy bus journey to/from the main train station.

The guest house was immaculate. Super clean and comfortable for my stay. Ian and David were very accommodating with my trip as I landed late and arrived much later than intended. Through my stay made an effort to help me with my days out by giving me a map and directions to attractions. Couldn’t recommend anywhere better to stay. Amazing staff and breakfast!! I was offered a welcome drink upon check in, which was a pleasant surprise in this cold Scottish weather. Ian and David are super warm and considerate, and the breakfast is simply impeccable in terms of both food and service. The room is very clean and comfy.

Great people, great place

The staff were wonderful, really friendly and very flexible. We mentioned that we were vegan and we arrived to vegan snacks in the room and lots of good vegan breakfast options! The room has all you need and the guesthouse is a very easy walk from Haymarket station with plenty nice bars and restaurants within a 10minute walk.

Lovely Guest house with care for every visitor

If I can just start off with describing one feeling: waking up to the smell of newly baked croissants, just imagine that. This is exactly what you will get at Ians and Davids lovely Guest House. A lot of care went in to every corner of this Guest House (comfort in room, service, the 'made on order' breakfast, the interior decoration, the welcome prosecco, all the sustainable choices etc.) which you can clearly see when you overlook their reviews (it's not just me thinking so!). You'll also get a true feeling that they really care about each and every visitor they get, and want to make sure that you will have a lovely stay with them. The beds are super comfy, the bathroom very modern and fresh, the amount of electrical outlets/USB-ports (even USB-C!) was great. The breakfast was so nice, with home made bread and croissants. Location wise this is a good spot to explore Edinburgh from, with a bus stop right outside (we used our legs a lot though!). Highly recommended, and probably the best Guest House I ever stayed in!
