This place is absolutely unique, amazingly placed, cozy, inspiring and very welcoming. It instantly feels like a second home, warm and calm. If that wasn’t enough it allows for quick travel to Valentia Island, Portmagee, Kerry Cliffs and Caherciveen is amazing on its own as well. Had we known this place is so nice we would’ve planned our stay in Ireland differently so we’d have more time in the Old Monastery.

Old House which is renovated and decorated very nicely. Shared bathroom rooms were nice and always clean. 2 separate toilets outside the bathroom is perfect. Friendly staff which gave us good hiking recommendations.
Even with Google Maps and checkin instructions hard to find the correct entrance gate as there is no single sign or anything near the entrance. Breakfast was only bread, butter, jam, peanut butter, porridge, fruits and tomatoes. Unfortunately no eggs, cheese or ham.

This is a lovely building with lots of character and charm. Location is great. Lucy is a lovely host.
The house and especially the room smelled musty. The shared toilet rooms weren’t checked often enough (ran out of tp, ran out of hand towels). Lock on one toilet room was broken. Breakfast was bread and oatmeal - no protein on offer.
