Brendan's Cottage

Everything was great.The cottage as great, it had very well equipped kitchen, it was clean and very nicely decorated and well furnished with a lovely garden with beautiful views. Our host was fantastic, Kate was a very friendly, helpful and welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble. She even provided some tea, coffee, biscuits and a pint of milk as well as a few bottles of lager to welcome and start off our stay which was brilliant!! This set the tone for our holiday and was gratefully appreciated especially after a six hour drive from Rosslare and a four hour ferry delay prior to this in extremely hot weather. Before we left, Kate made sure that everything was all good for us and also bought a bar of chocolate for our daughter as well which we thought was a lovely gesture. The location was great, amenities were not to far away, Valentia car ferry was nice, short drive from the cottage and a short trip to and from the mainland, definitely recommend getting the multi ticket option if making several trips as this works out cheaper, the location was perfect for touring the Ring of Kerry and surrounding sights, the island is very beautiful too, it helped being blessed with beautiful weather, we didn’t want to leave! I totally recommend staying here if visiting County Kerry and I would have no hesitation in doing so again if and when visiting again.

Paying extra for electricity which wasn’t a major issue and wasn’t that much. No wifi in the cottage, but we got around this having unlimited data, we were out most of the time so didn’t really miss it. Some of the roads and standards of driving in the area as well as County Kerry in general by some of the locals and tourists alike need some improvement.

De locatie is geweldig. De plek was uniek, op een ongerept eiland. Door de goede ferryverbinding niet geïsoleerd. Prachtige uitzichten op t eiland zelf al. Huisje voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt. Zelfs een vaatwasser en wasdroger. Leuke tuin. Fijne eigenaar.

Door de ligging was het huis tijdens regendagen erg vochtig.

The cottage is so cozy, with a beautiful garden and pretty much across from the water. The accommodation is great for traveling with friends, with a small sink in each bedroom and a toilet that’s separate from the bathroom. The location is perfect on Valentia Island to visits all places of interest in County Kerry. Mr Cahill is a wonderful host.
