Cozy & Comfortable

The host provided us with bread, butter, jams and milk for our breakfast, everything was fresh. They had all the essentials to add additional items to your breakfast such as stove, microwave, kettle and toaster. We loved it!

The shower was malfunctioning half way turning off which should be looked after by the host for future travellers to make the stay 10/10.

Lovely room with even lovelier hosts

Marie is absolutely wonderful, the kind of host who makes you feel like an old friend from the moment you arrive. I also met her son, who is just as kind and welcoming. The room itself has everything you could possibly need and more: soft towels, heat, coffee and tea, and even thoughtful extras like milk, bread, eggs, jam, butter, and biscuits. The location is ideal, directly across from the Kerry Cliffs, with the room offering a beautiful view of the mountains and the lake.

The only suggestion I would make is a shower curtain so the water doesn’t get everywhere.

Excellent stay! Wonderful location.

This location was wonderful! First, the host was exceptionally helpful in being flexible with our check-in; my partner and I scheduled a long day of driving, but we couldn't help ourselves from making stops to see sights along the way down the west coast. The host made sure we could check in at any time and also gave us everything we need to also check out early the next morning (we had an event early and were not staying an extra day). The location gave us everything we needed, including a few pieces of bread to make a quick toast breakfast--this was very helpful and appreciated as we had a long early day of hiking scheduled! Everything worked splendidly. For any visitors who specifically are looking to book as part of a planned early morning Skellig Michel tour, I strongly recommend this location as it's very close to the harbor and also secluded enough to avoid tourist traffic and noise if you're trying to get a good night's sleep beforehand. We did a 10-day Ireland tour and this was probably our favorite place to stay!

Great hosts and a lovely stay

The view from the seating area was beautiful. Marie was so sweet and helpful and we were given a pass to the cliffs across the street, which were spectacular. It was quiet and out of the way a bit, but still close to town.

The only suggestion we would have is putting a curtain on the shower stall so water doesn’t get all over the floor.

Only four minutes from the marina. Great place to stay if you’re visiting Skellig Michael.

The host was extremely friendly and she checked in on this often and was very helpful. The two donkeys were a wonderful surprise and very friendly too.

Great location in Portmagee, beautiful little sitting area outside the room. Nice to have a kitchenette!

The room was extremely tight. Not much space to move if you have multiple suitcases. Didn't love that there was no shower curtain and the whole bathroom floor was wet after someone showered.

Excellent location in Portmagee to stay overnight and enjoy local attractions.

Excellent location in Portmagee, the apartment has a closed glass porch, with a cozy armchair that invites to enjoy the open view to the bay. It is located very near to the harbour to take the Michael Skelling islands tour. The host also provided with a free pass to visit the amazing Kerry Cliffs located at a walking distance from the apartment.

Compact, comfortable bedsit, close to Portmagee.

Comfortable bed and lovely morning sunshine with harbour view. Great place to go for Skelligs boat trip, visit spectacular Kerry cliffs and we enjoyed visits to Valentia island, Kell’s beach and bay gardens, and a walk in the hills. Marie was lovely and she has 3 friendly dogs.

No kitchen sink or tap, noisy dogs next door. The weather was good while we were there, so going outside for the tap to wash vegetables and get water was fine, but could be unpleasant if the weather was bad. Using the bathroom sink was the only other option.

Cozy Apartment, Perfect for Couples and Skellig Michael visitors!

Location: Situated in the direction of the Kerry Cliffs, this cozy house, one of several on the property, has a view of Portmagee Harbour, Skellig View and Valentia Island, in the morning you can watch the sun rise while enjoying a cup of tea in a sunroom at the entrance to the house. Inside: The house has a compact style with the kitchen built in and a bathroom. Our host Marie was very welcoming upon arrival and showed us to the house. The kitchen was stocked with eggs, bread and the essential spreads as well as included an all in one oven cooker. It has plenty of utilities and cooking utensils, a kettle with tea and coffee provided as well as milk in the fridge. The shower in the bathroom has walk in access with a door for privacy. The plugs are built into the bed frame allowing for easier access to charge phones while you sleep or sit in bed. Outside: The view from the sunroom over looks the harbour as mentioned, this is perfect for breakfast and tea with a view (which we did!) There is free onsite parking as well as many dogs who greet you as you arrive! These dogs are very friendly and would seem to be interested only in attention and toys! As dog lovers ourselves we enjoyed their company. The house is about 5 minutes walk from the Kerry Cliffs which we had free access to courtesy of Marie! They are absolutely stunning! Definitely worth the walk to see them. Town Activities: The Portmagee Harbour is about 6 minutes drive from the house and perfectly located for those interested in going to Skellig Michael - which we did, there are boat tours and landing tours can be booked online. The town has some very nice cafe’s and a few pubs/restaurants. As recommended by Marie, we went to the Fisherman’s Bar & Skellig Restaurant. I can tell you that their seafood platter and BBQ Ribs are definitely worth the visit! Their staff were very friendly and chatty.

Everything was perfect. We went with our 2 dogs. Excellent place to bring dogs. Marie was fabulous. She was there to meet us when we arrived. She was so kind she had left milk, eggs and bread. Could not rate this place high enough. Thank you Marie.

Cosy retreat in Portmagee

Had a lovely stay in Harbour View for 1 night before an early start to Skellig the next morning. We were met by Marie and the sweet little donkeys, and they could not have been more welcoming! The apartment itself has fantastic views and was so cosy and comfortable, just what we needed after a few days' camping in rough weather. It had everything we needed for our short stay, including a kitchenette with small oven, hob and a microwave, as well as a dishwasher and fridge. The gorgeous sunroom was perfect to enjoy our morning coffee and eggs, which were all provided for us. Really couldn't have asked for more, would definitely recommend!

Superb

Excellent location, very calm and beautiful place with a gorgeous view. Marie welcomed us warmly and showed us around, our room was comfortable with a little kitchenette and a veranda where we could take our breakfast in the morning. The host provided everything to cook a nice breakfast. We were happy to receive two invitations to Kerry Cliffs upon our arrival. We enjoyed our stay very much and we recommend this cozy B&B.

Exceptional

We stayed in the Skellig View Harbour View Sunrise Apartment at the end of February. The host, Marie, was fantastic, we brought our 15 weeks old Labrador puppy with us, and Marie was so welcoming allowing us to bring him on the trip as it is often difficult to get accommodation with a puppy. The apartment was pristine, and given the time of year it was a little chilly out, but the apartment was so welcoming, warm and cosy. Marie also left us little extras such as milk, bread, eggs and jam which was lovely and unexpected. There are excellent facilities in the apartment which allowed us to stay in cook and relax with our pup! The views were spectacular and we were able to sit in the little conservatory area of the apartment to look out at the night sky and watch the sunrise! We will most definitely be visiting these apartments again in the near future!
