Direen is a traditional 2 storey stone built cottage, renovated to modern day standards by extending the back for extra accommodation. The original style of the cottage has been maintained, with 2 open fires to add comfort, alongside the oil-fired central heating. This is a cosy cottage for winter rental. Timber and tiles have been used throughout for the flooring which both retain the character of the cottage as well as provide for a clean house. The cottage sleeps 7, with the ground floor adapted for wheelchair access. There is free WIFI internet access installed in the cottage with excellent reception.There is a shed alongside, with chest freezer and ample space for outdoor gear. Situated on 1 acre, a small stream, field and trees make this a very peaceful property.
Direct Flights: Kerry Airport is situated 50 mins drive from Direen Cottage. Ryanair has direct flights from here to London Luton, London Stansted and Frankfurt Hahn. Aer Lingus flights to Dublin

This really is beautiful hideaway, full of atmosphere . Janet provides a bowl of free range eggs on arrival and a fruit cake , which is a great start. It feels like the light of a Vermeer, sitting on the kitchen table soaked on cottage sunlight. It was a great place for us , a couple, to rest and recuperate after the year that's in it. a babbling brook and stone walls and sylvan cosiness. This would be an amazing place for children also. There is a sense of adventure and exploration that comes with a property with a bit of history I suppose. and children would love to explore here. we met Eamon too, who is as sound as you can get. We will be back if the gods of the virus let us.
