Great stay with friends in a great location. Walking, beer, curry and live music, top weekend!

Great setup, very accommodating and well organised. Warm comfortable rooms and really good facilities. Short walk into town. Kitchen and communal areas had everything we needed to cook a full English for 12 people.

I had a very peaceful night at Denton. The proximity to the town and the condition of hostel where very good plus’s. I would recommend this place to everyone of my friends.

No negatives. I couldn’t get in at first because I never read the message I received properly. This was sorted straight away with one call . Staff where more than understanding.

Just what i needed

Booked this last minute due to being rained out camping It is very convenient and easy to check in with the night porter Comfy beds Booked mixed dorm, but it was actually female only 😊

The shower cubicle was tiny. Couldn't have the curtain closed as it kept touching me 🤮, also not all that powerful A distinct lack of plug sockets. Only 4 for a room of 10

Nice, cleand and well located hostel

The hostel is close to the city center. Everything looks very well maintained and clean.

Water pressure in the female showers was not very good. For the size of the room -and the price per night- there were too many guests, witjh all that this implies (not enough sockets, no individual lights, people entering and leaving the.room at so manu different times)

Was always going to be a late arrival and knew access codes would be sent on the day… would have helped and been less stressful to have these sent out earlier vs. 10 mins before reception closed

I liked how quiet it was even when a team of football boys stayed overnight. There are plenty of clean toilets and showers. The lounge with TV was a great space to relax and catch up with other travelers. Socks & T’s dried quickly in the spacious drying room. There is a lovely private back area for outdoor sitting. The staff were all exceptional. I really like Denton, do would you.

Smokers in the front outside table area was the only detrimental thing during my 4 nite stay.

Avoid unless you're desperate

It was relatively clean

Website clearly advertises a food menu so I expected to be able to get breakfast at least. Woman on reception was adamant food was for groups of 10 or more but this isn't indicated on the website whatsoever. Also, looks like they cobbled the bunk house together in 5 minutes on a £500 budget. Toilet doors don't even shut properly. Showers don't lock properly. Bed frames are higher than the mattresses so you can't sit on the edge of the bed without it digging into the backs of thighs - not nice when you've done 8 hours on the mountain. No lights be the beds as you would expect in a hostel so everyone has to switch on the main light to see anything, regardless of what time it is in the night. Inside, the layout makes no sense with the cooker being opposite end of the building to the dining room. No bin or sink in dining room despite a kettle and microwave. Just generally rubbish. I've been hostelling for over 20 years, and this is probably the worst.

It’s a shame lovely place but heating puts me off staying again !

I thought it was a very relaxed clean welcoming space. Were you can chill 😎 and cook watch to mix. As a single woman on my own I felt security was very good door code is changed very frequently.

The main thing I didn’t like was lack of heat in the pm. I had a cold to start and am asthmatic so I need to be in a certain temperature. I had to ring a member of staff as heating didn’t go on. Then heating in the bedrooms and the lounge didn’t come on till 9 pm. Now I’m quite ill with my chest.

Good location, many facilities

The location was nice, it wasn't a super far walk from the bus stations/town, and it was a quiet area. The room was a nice size for the number of beds, although it might feel pretty crowded when full (room for 12, but only 2 full for the night I was there). There were also sinks in the room, hangers on the ends of the beds, and storage lockers for your stuff (need your own lock. There were also a lot of common spaces and kitchen areas

I wish there were outlets in the room for each bed--there were only a couple near the door which would not be ideal with a full room. There also weren't lockers that could actually lock for every bed. The bottom bunks just had drawers that slid under the bed.

Burnt Toast!!

Good parking.

Unable to access my alotted room with keycode I was given AND Being woke up at 7am with fire alarm after a guest was unable to operate the toaster filling the kitchen and hallway with smoke. How hard is it to make toast. However this was NOT the fault of Denton House or management.

SNORER RUINS NIGHTS SLEEP AND I HAVE WEEKEND

Having stayed there before I knew what to expect. Good parking cheapish and cheerfulish. Staff reasonable

The ongoing problem of sleeping in rooms with others and getting a "snorer" I dud NOT get any sleep the whole of the night ruining my full weekend as tired all the time. No single rooms available for second night so moved on.

OK just but.....

Other 'guests' were staff of a school where students were out doing DofE. They were very pleasant. Given full bunk room with strangers, but wife only one in her room so able to go in there.

No staff at all, just an envelope on the pin board even though we arrived at 4.30pm and left at 10am. Very scattered rooms, kitchens, washing up area, lounge etc More like camping

The facilities that were available! Location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dorm rooms were as expected and what you need for an overnight stay.

Only about how busy the carpark is. It's big but, still had cars parking outside the gates. Not a criticism, just proves how an ideal location this is for a lot of walkers, scramblers etc.
