A fantastic stay in a beautiful location!

YHA Keswick is in an excellent location. It is just a short walk into the centre of Keswick or into the hills and mountains. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The hostel itself is clean, tidy and modern. The cafe/ bar is cozy and good value for money. The accommodation is simple but clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced.

Clean Well positioned Good facilities However I think that if a black person is staying in your facilities that they should be treated equally like every one else maybe a little unfair to say this as this comment relates to only one member of staff most of the staff were excellent

A great place to stay with a group of friends.

Exceptional value for money on a Sunday night. The property is great, rooms clean, all shared facilities (toilets and showers) nice and clean, with lots of hot water. Nice breakfast in the morning too.

Only minor niggle - no car park or parking facilities. Restricted on street car parking, unrestricted a 2 minute walk away. Not an issue really (in the nice weather)

Fantastic!

Breakfast was good, but the bacon could have been cooked for a bit longer. Great staff - really friendly & helpful. Nice bar & self catering kitchen was well equipped. Beds very comfortable - great view over the river from our balcony!

Fabulous and fun.

We had not stayed in a YH before (and hardly, it must be said, in the first flush of youth either….). The place was friendly, staff welcoming, warm, clean and always had a lovely ‘buzz’ of people enjoying themselves and their glorious Keswick surroundings. The communal kitchen was clean and well organised. This is not luxury accommodation- it couldn’t be for the price - but was a great experience and good fun.

Good food and location, a little cramped.

The chef’s were excellent as all the meals I had I loved. The full breakfast in the morning was a great thing to have before hiking. The lounge area was quite nice with plugs for charging devices. The location was perfect for exploring the region.

The rooms were a little tight with luggage, but not a major issue.

Survived and enjoyed hike around Derwentwater

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Superb location. All clean and functioning. Good food. Excellent value for money. Well equipped kitchen. Good common areas.

We had some confusion with the WIFI, but could be our fault or maybe not. We should have probably enquired further.

The staff are all brilliant and kind, they all want to help and also helped me have a better time in keswick by recommending different hikes. Food is good

didn’t spend a lot of time there at the hostel but it was a good stay - one of the best hostels we have stayed in for sure. clean bathroom and bedroom. good shower, good location and its restaurant does a decent fish n chips n mushy peas. and the self-catering kitchen s clean - good kettle for our pot noodles! they provide print out walking maps - totally good idea.

the room didnt have any hooks to hang up the coats and towels.

I found my happy place 10/10

Amazing property right on the river!! We could open our window and listen to the river all night! The room was comfortable and clean. The location is amazing other than being on the river, you are right in town east walk to everything! The comunal facilities were fantastic and the bar and kitchen were fabulous. This place is a gem 10/10 would highly recommend.

Excellent totally recommend

Lovely area view of the river and mountains were stunning. Very relaxing stay. Good value for money 60 pound for two bunk beds shared bathroom but never had to wait. Sat in the cafe on the evening tea and cake played the games which are available. Lovely breakfast with heaps for good price. Really helpful staff. Didn’t use the kitchen but looked clean with everything you would need I would use it if I stayed again. Lovely old building with heaps of character.

Slight old smell in room but what do you expect with such value and an old building. Parking could be an issue as only on surrounding streets access is down stairs and pathway. I booked some private parking prior to going.

Be aware there are no lifts. However the stairs are wide and easy to negotiate.

Was good I love the river next to it that I could have go and soak my feet

Funny I love the kitchen it was clean. The only thing was this location didn’t had the lower double bunk I had to put 2 mattress in the floor for myself and little one to sleep. The place was generally good just a little hot. Food was good. Staff was good.

Great hostel, perfect location!

The location is perfect - because central, close to the bus stop, and right by the river and Fitz Park so great view and can go for an evening walk in the park. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The kitchen was clean, well equipped and I appreciate how “on it” the staff was about keeping things tidy and labelled (which I find to be an issue in other hostels sometimes). The showers and toilets were clean.

The room was quite small, which is not a big issue in itself but meant that due to the heat it got really warm and stuffy overnight making it very uncomfortable. There are only three lockers for a six bed dormitory which means that by the time I arrived, they were all locked by somebody else. They could be smaller and have six of them so everyone can lock some of their stuff (although I must say that the system of card to enter the room and even corridor means it felt safe, safer than in most other hostels I stayed at where it’s a physical key and you rely on other travellers locking when they leave).

Great value, friendly vibe, perfect home base for hikes!

The people at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. Given how many people on a floor were sharing the showers and toilets, they were very clean and I appreciated that they were separate and individual. The drying room was very helpful too! The breakfast options were of good value. As others mention, the river sounds outside the window were lovely to fall asleep to.

Can’t think of anything, it was very efficiently run.
