The staff throughout the entire property were exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and helpful at all times. Everyone greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel truly cared for during our stay. Another great convenience was the possibility to rent two scooters directly at the hotel. The scooters were ready on-site and could easily be returned at the hotel as well, which made exploring the island very simple and stress-free. The rooms are very modern and thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail. The bathroom is outstanding and truly special. We felt very comfortable in the room at all times – it always smelled fresh and pleasant. Bed linen and towels were changed daily, which we really appreciated. The bed was really nice! A special mention goes to the staff member who personally took care of sending back a jacket we forgot during our transfer. She organized a private transfer to return it to us and was always reachable via WhatsApp. She also handled our laundry, which we could drop off at the hotel and received back freshly washed the next day. This level of personal service was exceptional.

We did not fully consider that we had booked a bungalow without a private pool, which we would not recommend. Due to the high temperatures on Koh Yao Yai and the strong tides on the island, we were quite dependent on the tide schedule to be able to cool off in the sea. This limited our flexibility and slightly reduced our overall comfort. This was not the hotel’s fault, but it did have a noticeable impact on our stay.

Pleasant stay for a couple of nights

Amazing friendly staff who were very accommodating in every way. There is an amazing restaurant with beautiful views across the road where we ate.

The hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool unless you book a room with a private pool. There is a tiny beach across the road but you can’t swim in it as it full of big rocks. The hotel is quite isolated. You need to hire a scooter if you want to go anywhere!

Staff was extremely accommodating and made our stay perfect. Booked transport from Phuket to the island including taxi to the ferry and taxi from ferry to our rooms. Amazing. They also recommended local beaches based that were better than the ones recommended on travel sites. Thank you!!!

Amazing

This hotel is amazing — beautiful room, gorgeous view, friendly staff, and a private pool. The breakfast and dinner ladies are sooo friendly, I just loved them! Especially the pregnant lady (as of October 25) who usually works in the morning and goes, “Good morning, hooooney! Good morning, khaaaa!” She really makes your day brighter. :))) It’s perfect for anyone seeking peace. The whole island is like that — just for relaxing. No parties, no noise. You’ll need a motorcycle or a car to get around since there’s no Bolt or Grab. You’ll have to take a taxi from the port (300 baht), and there are usually some waiting when you arrive. Across from the hotel, there’s a small bar with bungalows and a restaurant down on the beach. There are also other restaurants scattered around the island, but you can always eat at the hotel’s restaurant — the food is great and the smoothies are even better! The nearest store is about 1 km away. The island itself is quite hilly.

Absolutely loved it

The property was everything we hoped for and more. We stayed in the family villa and it was super clean and comfortable, plus the pool was even bigger than we expected (and over looking the water just wow)! All of the staff were super lovely and accomodating and made our stay very comfortable. Thank you for having us!

A few restaurants within walking distance but need to taxi/drive to most places on the island - which is super cheap and easy but just worth noting!

Superb views and fantastic service

Location was fantastic and staff were adorable and so helpful in the most part. Mimi in particular could not do enough to make our stay wonderful and reception staff were so happy and willing to order taxis and book transport for us etc. The accommodation was fantastic - clean, spacious, private, anaxing views - what’s not to like?! Evening meals in the restaurant were tasty and plentiful.

Breakfast wasn’t the best we’d had and bed a little hard for me but I’m sure for most it is fine.

This was really nice, relaxing having own pool with a nice view. You are far from shops but if you like the quiet side do highly recommend. Probs only stay for 1-3 nights as not much to do unless you have a scooter.

Hidden Gem

Incredibly peaceful view & location, probably the best you can get for the money. Food was great, cocktails were good (mai Thai was my go to). Scooter/mopeds were clean and well maintained at a good price from the hotel.

Beautiful and peaceful accommodation

We had a deluxe pool villa with sea view, which was very specious, had a separate big bathroom and an own terrace with a pool. Unfortunately the cables on the street were a bit disturbing the view, but not the hotel’s fault. The room was very clean an well equipped and the staff was very friendly. The normal rooms along the main road can get loud, as motor cycles pass by all the time. Overall, we enjoyed our time a lot on the island, and especially in this accommodation.

the room was spacious and really in a good shape, super nice. the view was also great. breakfast was really good in our opinion, as well as the food-related staff

the room was directly on the steet so it was noisy in the morning or in the night when the few cars/bikes went through. the staff (except from the breakfast/food lady and the lady with a different dress color) was a little bit disappointed. lastly i think value for money can be higher in near hotels - but this one includes a good breakfast

Hillside resort is by far the best place i have ever stayed. The view from the villas is amazing and to then have a private pool, spa robes, jacuzzi bath and all the products smelled amazing. Nice touches with welcome drinks, cold towels and fruit. Staff were brilliant and made the stay so relaxing. Hope to return one day

Everything was awesome! From the moment we arrived till the last minute we felt taken care of by the staff. They were very friendly and kind. The room was the best, clean and spacious. The belonging pool was fascinating with a perfect view to the sea, and with an outdoor shower. Sunbeds were also provided. Motorbike rental was available right on property. Their restaurant was also great.

There was none :) You need a bike to get around though.

Good hotel with beautiful views

Nice hotel. Beautiful view to the bay from the private pool villas. Spotless clean and professional service. Food in the restaurant was good, but breakfast rather basic (nothing wrong with the quality, though). You need a scooter to get around, and the hotel has them conveniently located for rent just out front. Worked perfectly.

It was rather windy when I was there, so it was a bit chilly in the outdoor shower (not the hotel’s fault of course:) )

Nice location on the hill with a beautiful view, especially while swimming in the pool. Besides that the staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and had a variety of options.

The curtains behind the bed couldn't be closed fully. If the neighbours walked by, it was possible to look in the room. That's literally the only thing, besides that the stay was perfect.

staff is super nice, room is good.

location, there is nothing around. there is no pool if you arent staying in one with one. noting to do. there was a problem with the booking i made with them to leave koh yao yai. the boat they sold me first was full and had to stay in reception waiting for another solution. which came. i had to pay another 800thb (they wanted 2500) after already paying 1200thb to go to koh lanta. was quite disappointing.
