View is beautiful from the main terrace/bar & first line bungalows. People/ ladies are nice. Bathrobes provided

We have chosen the place for couple days asking for the first level bungalow, but for the staff is impossible to plan in advance. Simple hygienic standards are missed: - Sunbeds leaver cover - are very old, not welcoming at all to lay down. - in the bathroom there is no electra sources for hairdryer, etc. None. - Wifi is terrible. In orher words - there is no wifi in the rooms. Let say it so. - trash collecting place - is right in the beginning of the bungalow territory and we could not relax smelling it.

Beautiful property facing the sea amidst an amazing tropical garden

The rooms are very spacious, so confortable and beautiful, little bungalows facing the sea. Very private in the middle of a rich and amazing garden. There is a little and cute beach down ( it's not obvious but it is there, so go have a look). The food is delicious, and the staff ( 100% women, women power ! ) has done amazing efforts to accommodate all our needs, at every point, really big round for them. They can provide a bike ( essential to cover the island, no public transports, but they gave plenty for 300bht per day), tours, if you leave early morning they provided a lunch box. And they have a huge family of white super friendly cats living on the property, that they take care of like real family. One tip: in your trip, do cover the north of the island, especially north west, it's more wild than the south.

Facilities are in some places showing a little bit of run down, the dining area could be more appealing, and some staffs, although very friendly, are sometimes a bit overwhelmed as they don't always understand English well or are not enough. To be reminded for the dinner, come early and not too hungry, we went once when there were 4 tables in one go and it took a long time to be served. But the food was worth it :)

Very calm and relaxing experience by the water but the hotel disappointed in a few aspects.

Absolutely beautiful bungalow and views of the ocean. Beautifully placed by the water. The staff, especially Pond, were very kind and helpful. They helped make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was versatile and very tasty, lots of options.

Very limited private beach which was a big disappointment for us. The small beach was very rocky inside and outside of the water. People should also be aware that closest restaurant is a 20 minute walk on a road that I would not recommend walking on. We also had issues with our wifi, electric outlets in room, and the AC in our room.

Excellent little trip

The location was very beautiful, such stunning views. The host was so friendly and welcoming- she couldn’t do enough for us which was greatly appreciated. The food offerings at breakfast and dinner were very good.

A beautiful location made better by great staff and service.

View from the bungalow was idyllic. Rooms were large, large comfortable beds and bathrooms were also huge, with a bath with ocean view if you wanted it. AC worked well. Really quiet and peaceful setting to switch off. What really makes this place is the Hostess/Manager ‘Pond’ and her team of staff. They could not do enough for you and Pond was more than happy to arrange boat trips at local prices (they also provided a great packed lunch free of charge to take with us), taxis, laundry service was reasonable price and quick turnaround. Breakfast was also provided and was HUGE. She was happy to keep a running total for any extras during our stay and we could pay by card at the end (a lot of the ATM’s on the island do not work). Honestly she was wonderful and has been the highlight of our holiday so far.

Very minor issue and didn’t really bother us, but given that you are staying in the rural areas you do sometimes have ‘guests’ which can make it inside the room. Maybe just need to seal some gaps.

An oasis of peace and perfect hospitality

My friend and I stayed here for two nights, and it was an amazing experience! The place is entirely run by an incredible team of women: super kind, well-organized, and always ready to help you with anything. They speak excellent English, so everything was super easy. They offer tons of organized tours that you can book directly with them, so no hassle! And the restaurant? One of the best we’ve tried in all of Thailand – absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotless, cozy, and so peaceful that you feel completely refreshed. If you’re looking for a place to feel pampered, this is the spot!

Totally secluded, very thoughtfully grown gardens, extremely helpful staff and the most beautiful see island views. NoNo and Boarn (amazing staff) provided us with so much info about the island/day trips/travel. Whilst at Esmeralda we went on a private 5 hour snorkelling tour of the Krabi islands organised by the staff - it was incredible - the boat picked up/dropped off from the little beach front at the bottom of the properties garden & we were given a picnic hamper of fruit & water to take. Nono presents an authentic breakfast & makes great eggs to order each morning. We walked (20 mins) to a local restaurant each night called ‘our home kitchen’. The food was delicious and they drove us home both times in a tuktuk free of charge (Nono would cook dinner if we’d asked). Our bungalow was clean, beds made & fresh towels (displayed as amazing shapes (jellyfish/stingray/shells) each day. Air con works quickly. We also borrowed umbrellas, large beach bags, beach mats & life jackets very easily. Overall, a wonderful stay & a highlight of our month long trip in Thailand.

A little gem

The staff were friendly and informative about local area and attractions. They also booked our trips. The rooms were spacious and clean. We upgraded and would recommend you do. The view was amazing to wake up to every morning. We stayed an extra night as such a lovely place. The garden was beautiful and staff would tell you what things were. There was lots of beautiful butterflies, birds and hermit crabs.The breakfast was cooked fresh for us every morning and there was lot's of choice. If you want peace and tranquility this place ticks all the boxes.

the surrounding in nature, as well as the beach which was not far, was fantastic. I have to also point out the amazing service of Nono the cook, who has been much more than a cook to us this whole time. He was available for any questions as well as was of great service to us! His cooking is immaculate and we were able to order breakfast and dinner with him.

Koh Yao Yai is a very quiet island, there was not much around the hotel which meant it was our best bet to order breakfast and dinner at the property. It was delicious though and in the end, I am happy it's been so quiet as we could truly relax here.

The place was so nice. We where upgraded to a better room. Just because it was free. We had an amazing view from our bungalows. Nono was just and original. He gave us super advices for the island and for our next stops. He cooked us two times an amazing sea food dinner. I can only recommend this place. If you wanna make a stop between Phuket and Krabi. The best resort in Koh Yao Yai!

Staff went above and beyond. An idyllic location. Incredible views and a tranquil private beach. The food is fantastic. I didn't feel the need to leave the resort most days as you have everything you could want at the resort. Breakfast is a varied and generous buffet. Beach towels and accessories available to borrow. Scooters available to rent. Pay extra for the sea view, it's worth it.

Beach needed raking, but that is very minor. It did not take away from my enjoyment of the location.

Perfect scenery with the seaview.

It is a very cute bungalow with seaview. The staff, especially Nono was great and helped us with everything we needed. It is a quiet location next to the see and the bungalows are hidden in nature. If you rent a scooter it’s the perfect location. Breakfast is not very special, but definitely okay.

The bathroom is outdated and should be renovated.

Lovely, quiet stay.

Beautiful little island perfect for some quiet enjoyment and interactions with locals. Esmeralda View was a cute and comfortable little resort. The bungalows (at least the one I stayed in) had wifi and beautiful views. There is a little beach access, though as others have pointed out it is rocky. The staff were the best part of the stay (and Nono's food!). Pond at reception was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, but all staff members were friendly and accomodating. The island is beautiful and easy to navigate. Lots of amazing local restaurants -- you really can't go wrong. I didn't have a bad meal once!

The bungalows are more rustic, so some lizards were in and out of my place, leaving behind their droppings and chirping through the majority of the night. Please note that the island is not the most walkable, so a scooter is highly advised. Traffic is low and the roads are cleared of debris and loose gravel, so it is an easy island to learn to drive the scooter. In my experience, places that rent scooters actually rent out scooters that are owned by individuals rather than a business, so your experience will vary depending on the state of the scooter (take photos, test brakes and lights, etc.).

Very pleasant, might come back

Surprisingly secluded and pleasant resort. Amazing views from almost everywhere. Long beach beneath the property where you can go for walks early or late in the day, at least during low tide. Barely any people. Very nice room, comfortably designed not just for sleeping but also for staying there during daytime. Very good food. Friendly staff.

Breakfast could have some more healthy options, everything was either very sweet or made of white flour. Porridge or some veggies would have been nice, for example.

A bit of real Thailand hospitalIty, great for a three-night stay.

First impressions count, and the first impression is the view - stunning karst scenery from the chill out area, no one could get bored with that view! We were given a choice of rooms and opted for a smaller bedroom but with an outside shower, which I loved! Lovely room - a big comfy bed with mosquito net, veranda with loungers, and plenty of space. Amazing food in the restaurant, with beer and wine available - thank you NuNu. Kayaking is available (extra fee), which provides a different set of stunning views. Sufficient bars and restaurants are within walking distance, those that we sampled were all good.

The staff at Esmeralda are so incredibly nice and helpful. As others have said, the view from the deck is absolutely beautiful. We felt very much at home , relaxed and met some really nice people. I would definitely recommend Esmeralda View Resort

The service is slow only because there is a lot of demand and not many people to serve everyone. But, it is worth the wait. The beds were not the most comfortable but we accepted that.

Very good

The place is very quiet and peaceful, located far from other buildings. The staff is extremely kind, especially the lady manager and the chef (the food was really good). The view from our bungalow was beautiful. The only unpleasant surprise was the presence of a cockroach in our room. The staff quickly helped and the bungalow was disinfected, but the bad experience remained.

I wish the place was refreshed and cleaner.
