Very nice room and comfortable bed.
It was a strange design of the bathroom. It had a sliding door but then open to the wardrobe area. The toilet was separated and had a glass window to the room. Fortunately there was a pull down blind

Everything. Bed was very comfortable, the breakfast is incredible, the pool, the view. Amazing!
The family room was quite far away from the pool/beach area.

Very nice hotel decoration, the main pool was stunning with the bar in the middle , in front of the beach , the staff were amazing and helpful, the hotel is clean.
The food wasn’t tasty, highly rated price .
There were a lot of kids around felt like in kindergarten!
The location is far from everything ( restaurants, markets, spa..)
The style of the hotel is not Thai at all , so we didn’t felt in Thailand at all .
All facilities were with a highly rated extra charge like yoga!!

Location was ideal. Hotel beach beautiful. Staff very helpful.
Food service at dinner was slow.

the stuff was very nice and welcoming, the location and the view is amazing
Kids room was full of fungus , bed smell and not place for kids. I told stuff few times, seems they know about the problem but not doing anything about it - This room must be closed. second issue is over price of all food & beverage. I understand we go to 5 star hotel but charging for cola 4 euro and scoop of ice cream 6 euro, babysitter 18 euro - just as example. but all prices there are way way to high for hotels and for Thailand especially.

We traveled as a couple and spent five nights in a Beach Villa — an upgrade we accepted a few days before arrival and one that completely transformed our experience. The privacy, space and direct beach access created exactly the serene, adults-oriented atmosphere we were looking for.
Hospitality stands out from the very first moment. The Anantara transfer from Phuket was seamless, and on arrival we were welcomed by August, our butler, who was exceptional throughout the stay — attentive, discreet and genuinely invested in making everything feel effortless and special.
The villa is beautifully designed, immaculate, and extremely comfortable. The resort is new, lush, and impressively well maintained — the landscaping is truly gorgeous.
Breakfast is varied and high quality, served at The Beach or Pakarang (our favorite). Pakarang’s Thai cuisine is aromatic and consistently excellent — congratulations to Chef Ton, and thank you to Yamrol, Pear, Bryan and Jenys for warm, thoughtful service at lunch and dinner.
The spa is outstanding — special thanks to Salma for truly memorable massages.
The gym also deserves a special mention: exceptional facilities with state-of-the-art equipment, and a team that is genuinely friendly, attentive and always happy to help.
A few opportunities for improvement, shared constructively: some bathroom finishes (such as the countertop) may not age as beautifully over time; the bathroom would benefit from additional towel hooks and better lighting; and the irrigation system above the grass-covered villa roof occasionally sprays directly over the structure, which could, over time, affect the building.
One note to keep in mind: during our stay, many guests were families with young children. Thanks to the Beach Villa, we still enjoyed a very quiet, adults-friendly experience; without it, the beach/pool and restaurant areas did feel busier.

Gorgeous property with a beautiful grand entrance. The view is spectacular, beaches are perfectly maintained. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff were all genuinely kind. Having the butler on WhatsApp was helpful too.
There are a lot of babies.

Very modern luxury rooms, great food
Bad value for money, sun-beds are worse than in a 3 star hotel. Nothing is complimentary - free bicycles don’t have breaks and the hotel forces guests to pay extra, no drinking water at the adult pool. The facilities are very minimal - 2 pools and a small gym, the beach is not nice and it’s impossible to swim as it’s very shallow for 200m+. The picture of the long beach is NOT from the hotel - you can pay extra $50 to driver to that beach with hotel service.

loved the property, the location is stunning, beach stretch is generous, staff were very friendly and the room is spacious and very comfortable.
it's not a negative per say, but I feel it's important to know that it does not feel like a "honeymoon" friendly environment, as it's very much family oriented. The guests are primarily families with children, so naturally it is very loud and busy at the restaurants and during breakfast. It's still a beautiful property, but it's not oriented towards couples.

Great Assortment and nice enviorment . The Sous chef needs special comments since he was taking care of all our needs. He was exceptional and contributed a lot to our visit being great
Difficult to converse in English with the staff

The atmosphere and the food, were amazing
It is a bit odd that you give water bottles free to the room, but charges for water on the restaurants

Beautiful. Clean. Spacious. Staff were fantastic and the fam rooms just superb. Like really superb.
Beach is very tidal. Great for walking on and having a splash but a bit limited if you really want to swim. Still, the pool made up for it.

The resort is new and wonderful. Beautiful and natural beach, all very spacious, the staff are super nice and welcoming. Spa massage was amazing. Ask for the Dr. that's how they call him.
could have a little bit more atmosphere things like a pace to hang after dinner with music and a drink.
8.0 / 10.0
The resort felt truly unique, almost like being on a remote island. Our room was very spacious with a beautiful view of the sea, and the pools were great as well. But the real highlight of the hotel is its people. When we arrived, we encountered a few issues with our room, and the reception connected us with Joe, the head service manager. He accompanied us throughout our stay and genuinely transformed our experience into the unforgettable visit we were hoping for. He addressed every concern quickly and thoughtfully, and even arranged a full lunch for us at an amazing restaurant on the island—one of the most thoughtful gestures of our entire trip. Thanks to Joe and the rest of the staff, our stay at Anantara became truly memorable. We also used the transfer service at the end of the trip, which worked flawlessly, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we reached our next destination safely—something that was not obvious or easy.
The biggest downside of our stay was the dining experience. The restaurant options were very limited and extremely overpriced—by far the most expensive places we encountered in our entire trip across Asia (including Japan and Singapore). Unfortunately, the quality did not match the prices at all. Apart from breakfast, which was okay, the food simply wasn’t good in our opinion, and it often felt like tourists were being taken advantage of with inflated pricing.
We had booked the half-board program in advance, and only after arriving did we learn that it did not include any drinks whatsoever—not even a basic bottle of water. We ended up paying around $10 USD per bottle at dinner, even though we had at least six identical bottles provided for free in our room and during breakfast. This felt unreasonable and misleading.
On our second night, the resort offered a special buffet dinner, which required an additional—and very significant—extra payment, even for guests on half-board. Because of this, most people did not join the buffet, which caused the remaining restaurants to become fully booked. Since the buffet was too expensive, and the à la carte restaurants were already full, we had no choice but to dine at the most basic restaurant on the property. It was frustrating to pay for a half-board plan yet still struggle to find a place to eat without paying even more.
Throughout the stay, any time we wanted a snack or a simple drink, the prices were unbelievably high. We understand that the hotel is new, but everything felt ridiculously overpriced—especially the spa, which cost more than spa treatments in New York City.
Overall, the extreme overpricing really damaged the experience for us. Despite the beautiful resort and wonderful staff, the value for money was simply not there, and unfortunately we would not return because of this.

The whole team behind Koh Yao Yai Anantara Hotel was just amazing, we instantly felt like a part of Thai Family. Hotel is amazing with all you could wish for on your vacation. We truly enjoined delisious beachfront dinner which we booked for birthday celebration. We are definietely coming back as this is a must-have visit when it comes to Thailand.

The location is great.
I stayed at Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas for three nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what you would expect from a five-star resort.
From the very beginning, communication with the hotel was frustrating and unprofessional. Their Booking.com page clearly states that they provide a free transfer from the airport and from the pier to the resort. However, after I paid over $1,500 (non-refundable) for three nights, the staff informed me in a rude and dismissive manner that they do not provide any airport transfer. When I sent them a screenshot of their own statement, they pretended not to understand and even ended the message with a laughing emoji. This was shocking and completely unprofessional for a supposedly luxury property.
When I asked about the boat schedule, I discovered that the last transfer boat to the resort leaves the pier at 6 PM, something that is not mentioned anywhere on their website or Booking.com. I realized that due to this hidden detail, there was a serious risk of missing the last boat and losing one of my prepaid nights. To avoid that, I asked the hotel to reschedule my check-in and allow me to arrive one day later while keeping the same number of nights. My request was rejected three times, simply because the staff could not understand English and completely failed to comprehend what was required. This level of communication and support is absolutely unacceptable for a property of this class.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, but everything related to service and communication completely ruins the experience. After speaking with other guests, I realized that almost everyone was dissatisfied with how poorly trained and unhelpful the staff were. They barely speak English, and although they keep saying “sorry ma’am” and “sorry sir,” nothing ever gets resolved.
At 10 PM, while I was watching TV in my room, I received a phone call from reception asking me to lower the volume because the neighbors could hear it.

Everything! Amazing room, pool, view, food. The best hotel we have been in!

All staff were so friendly especially Ms. Louis who took great care of us. We also want to mention Mr. Kob, Mr. Bamboo (Restaurants) and Ms. Salma (SPA) whom were truly outstanding throughout our entire stay.
The Lounge at the Pier when you arrive is very comfy whilst you wait for the next boat to the island.
The room is spacious and comfortable and the WiFi is the fastest I have ever seen in any hotel (220mbit/s) and was appreciated a lot! The beds are very comfortable and the balcony provides an additional area to relax and enjoy some fresh air.
The SPA treatments were amazing and the food quality overall is very good.
The location of the hotel is brilliant with a stunning beach that is populated by ghost crabs.
We already booked our return to the Anantara Koh Yao Yai as it is really a serene place with a fantastic team.
- cleanliness of the room upon arrival
- noise insulation of the rooms could be better
- power circuit tripped twice during our stay resulting in all lights in the room being turned to maximum at 6am which woke us up

Everything was perfect: from check in at lounge to check out it was incredible! Staff were always happy and smiling.
High point if you have kids is the kids club and kids pool! My kids would ask to go back to kids club all day and baby sitter was fantastic!
It’s not really negative but I would love to see more food options for room service but I appreciate that every single food was cooked to perfection!

Please take care they lied to you both the hotel & booking
1.They forced us to pay 800$ just to go from the Reception building to the Rooms island
Make sure they cover this for you
2. Every time you want to go to the city will pay alot of money for the boat
And the time very restricted if u missed it pay 800$ to reach your room

Location was great, villa with lagoon pool was amazing. Staff was very helpful and super nice and we got even a dedicated staff member named Grace that we could personally contact on any topic or request we had. Awesome breakfast with a wide range of options including gluten free food.
TV screens we large but weren't connected to the internet which was disappointing. We had to cast movies from our smartphone instead of using the smart TV capabilities which were blocked intentionally.

Absolutely amazing! Room was super large size. Gym SPEECHLESS! Kids club really cool. And the beach is just WOW! We will be back for sure.
I think restaurants should improve with meals. Usually Anantara hotel has at least 1 really with fine dining or really good restaurant. Here unfortunately all 3 was ok.. but I still think place is worth to stay.

The property is absolutely stunning. The location on the beach overlooking the Andaman sea, the well kept, immaculately manicured lawns and facilities is paradoxical to the laid back, relaxed, family-friendly vibe of the place. The feel is of luxury, but not in a pretentious way.
We stayed in the Grand family suite and it was huge and had beautiful sea views. The little one had her own loft bed complete with a slide which she thoroughly enjoyed. It overlooked a great family pool with slides for all ages.
The staff are amazing, always greeting and going above and beyond to ensure your stay is above expectations.
The food at breakfast and dinners were excellent with a myriad of options. We had an unforgettable dinner on the beach to celebrate my partner’s birthday and by her account, the most special she’s ever experienced. I am ever so grateful. The staff planned it and executed to perfection even weeks prior to our arrival.
We’re hoping to return again one day bringing other friends and family with us to experience such a great show place to stay and enjoy life.
The property had everything we required.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings with lush, well kept tropical gardens, villas embedded in the greenery. Not too big, lovely to walk around (but you can get a buggy anytime). Super friendly and attentive staff that made our experience truly personal. Special shoutout to Touch and Non. Beachfront villas are stunning, beyond compare, highly comfortable with great layout and a lovely private pool (perfect spot to spend rainy days). Beach is tidal with shallow water, ideal for kids, with breathtaking views. Great kids facilities (though some activities are additional charge).

Pool bar was poor service, only seemed like 1 or 2 people were actually working..food was wrong multiple times. However upon raising this issue to management it was improved. House keeping could improve

The hotel staff and facilities were exceptional. They ensured we had a wonderful experience with everything offered. From the transfer to the hotel, the rooms, breakfast, pools for both kids and adults, the kids' club, to the bicycles – everything was fantastic. We wholeheartedly recommend Anantara Yao Yai to our friends and family.
The bicycles could benefit from a bit more maintenance. Some had flat tires, and one had loose handlebars, making them unavailable. However, this was a minor issue, as we were able to easily find other bikes to use on the premises.
10.0 / 10.0
1. Anantara Koh Yao Yai is a stunning escape that blends luxury with the natural beauty of the island.
2. The Lagoon Villa was beautifully designed, offering privacy, comfort, and serene views right from our terrace.
3. The staff were exceptional — especially Joe, whose warmth and attention to detail made our stay truly unforgettable.
While the hotel offers a wide range of services, it’s worth noting that tours, massages, and similar experiences can be found at a fraction of the price outside the resort.
