Loved this place.

Genuine, helpful staff at a quaint inn with a very cosy feel. Our room was well appointed with lovely furnishings. We could walk to everything in the village and the restaurant on site was amazing. The bar was a nice place to relax in after a day out exploring.

A beautiful boutique hotel

The decor was wonderful and it’s very central. It was my son’s 21st and he had a lovely little fudge brownie with happy birthday on it in his room.

The room No4 I was in was extremely noisy from people upstairs, the market starting early in the morning midweek and the cleaners outside the room. The reception was empty when we arrived and we waited a while until we went calling behind the bar to find someone. We were taken to one room and the receptionist wasn’t aware of a 2nd room, fortunately she found the 2nd booking. Although the staff were polite they always seemed very short staffed, every staff member we spoke to made us feel like we were in the way and a burden. We felt very unwelcome. We’ve stayed in a lot more basic places but they made us feel so welcome that we felt at home. As homely looking The Stocks was the staff did not make us feel at all at home.

Would fully recommend the hotel to friends and family and would return sometime in the future.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was just perfect, fantastic service from the staff. My husband requested a pudding that wasn't on the menu and his request was granted. This made his experience complete. The breakfast in the morning was amazing with lots of good choices and the waiter and waitress gave excellent customer service. The heating wasn't working in our room but we were provided with temporary heaters which were efficient enough for all our needs. This was fully acknowledged by the hotel management and we we given complimentary drinks at dinner and also breakfast was given as a gesture of goodwill. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

We arrived after our wedding ceremony to spend the evening and following day in The Cotswolds to celebrate with our witnesses but the event wasn't acknowledged even though we had written in the booking notes that it would be for a celebration.

Great location. Beautiful and romantic place to stay in the Cotswolds!

Our room was so cute and cozy. Lots of space in both the room and bathroom, which had a large claw-foot bathtub. The bed was so comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel location was perfect! The rest of the hotel was beautiful and the bar downstairs was awesome.

We had dinner one night at the restaurant and we weren't really impressed for the price of the food.

Great location, great food!

The location of the hotel is perfect. We stayed in a garden room which was located off the courtyard which we liked. The room itself was quite small however this did not bother us as we were only staying two nights. We ate in the hotel restaurant our first night of the stay and the food is absolutely amazing. If you stay at this hotel it’s definitely worth booking into their restaurant!

I think the breakfast should be included in the room rate. We also had quite poor sleep both nights of our stay due to us finding the bed uncomfortable.

Lovely historic inn for Cotswolds stay.

The garden room was lovely. Plenty of room for all of our things. The bed/bedding gave us the best night sleep after an exhaustive day of touring. The bath products, hot water pressure and sumptuous towels were transformative. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The only hiccup to the garden room is if you have a noisy dinner crowd. You can hear them outside your door while they are dining.

Loved the look of the Old stocks Inn. Truely beautiful appointments and linen and finishing touches. The location is excellent in the square. Central to all activities and the bus to other locations for day trips. Loved it all totally fell in love with it.

A pleasant and enjoyable stay was spoiled by the lack of adequate parking, safety light and noise.

Hotel was welcoming, friendly and well situated for those wanting to stay in the centre.

The entrance to the car park is badly in need to attention as it is virtually impassable in anything other than an SUV and not enough spaces for all the guests. The full English breakfast to my taste, especially the bacon, overcooked. While the bed was very comfortable, issues with a safety light, noise from other rooms and woodworm kept us awake.

We liked the courtyard room. The breakfast was exceptional.

We managed to park, but tight. Not helped by lack of line marking. The carpark is gravel and difficult to wheel cases. We carried our cases up the steps to reception only to have to carry them back down.

Great stay in the heart of Stow On The Wold!

Comfortable and clean room with lots of amenities. The location was excellent - right in the heart of the town and Stow is an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds. The Old Stocks had a great restaurant and bar with helpful staff. Extra points for providing a real milk for the tea and coffee facilities in the room :) Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous, well located hotel.

Set on the square in the heart of Stow, the building still maintains some historic features. The indoor and outdoor areas for guests to enjoy are comfortable and relaxing. The bar and staff were enjoyed in the evening. We had a quirky attic room with lovely views. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quite spacious and well designed with contemporary decor. A bath in the bedroom was fun! Amazing towels.. very thick and fluffy. I loved the fan which definitely cooled us down on a summer evening. There was a small amount of storage for clothes and a fridge with complimentary milk. Great. I loved that the toilet roll was in the perfect position. Thank you. 😊 Breakfast was a continental buffet or cooked. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was excellent.The attic room has a few stairs and limited headroom. Great for us as we are both vertically challenged. Beware tall people.. avoid Room 12. 😂 There is a restaurant on site which was busy though we didn’t try it.

The TV was difficult to see. Set low on the table. Maybe moving it up to the beautiful beams would see it out of the way and easy to view. There is no shower in Room 12. Not sure about other rooms. I found it tricky to get out of the bath with a problematic knee.

Nice hotel but needs a few tweaks

Great comfy bed, room nice and clean, great bar staff

The evening meal we had was not very nice and the lady serving us was poor, she didn't speak to us, ask/tell us about the food etc. At £190 including wine we think it was over priced. There was a wardrobe in the room but no draws, so we had leave underwear etc. in our suitcase. Don't understand why as there is enough space in the room. Also, in the bathroom there is no where to put cosmetics, again enough room for an extra shelf or cabinet.
