The building, the approach and its location

It was the bed linen it seemed threadbare and old and had an old or used smell. The pillows flat and hard. The towels were a good size and good quality. Needs updating - not in a modern way but a style that suits the building.

Perfect mini break in the Cotswolds

Beautiful hotel, with a very welcoming atmosphere. We arrived early evening after a very long tiring drive, had no issue parking as they have ample parking available. We were greeted by very cheerful and attentive staff. We enjoyed an evening meal and breakfasts, not a big breakfast menu, but what we had was lovely and filling. Our room was spacious, very cosy and clean, with a very spacious bathroom too. Enjoyed our stay so much, very sad to leave.

Really quaint and memorable stay

Location was excellent for exploring Stow on the Wold and nearby Cotswolds picturesque town and villages. The Lodge itself was full of history and old ambiance with good town and garden views from the bedroom windows.

Our room was a little hard to get to from the lobby, many stairs and no lift.

Lovely short break

Fabulous location in the centre of Stow and close to shops and restaurants. Lovely and well maintained. Gardens are lovely but as it was raining and damp we couldn’t take advantage. Bedroom was in the coach house and was clean and comfortable and quiet at night. Staff were welcoming on arrival and took us to our room which was a nice touch. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant both nights and there was an excellent choice on the menu and all reasonably priced along with a good choice of wines which were not overly expensive. Breakfast was excellent. We would recommend the hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

Perfect stay!

The property is so cute! As soon as I arrived it was evident that the staff were friendly/kind. Check in was quick and the bed was sooooo comfortable!! Staying here I had my first full nights sleep since arriving in the UK (5 days earlier). There was a radiator in the room, that could be adjusted. Breakfast was delicious! I loved every minute of my (short) stay here. I would definitely return and I would definitely stay longer in the future!!

Great stay!

Great hotel, staff very friendly. Location is amazing, all very close to it. Parking has enough size for a lot of cars. Will come back to this hotel. Breakfast is full english breakfast and you can choose different options within it. There is a big supermarket less than 5 minutes walking from the hotel.

The room was a bit cold during the night time, I unable to manage the heater by your own (at least in our room), it may be central. Some rooms are in a different building (just few steps from the main hotel building)

Beautiful hotel with excellent service right in the centre of Stow!

Fantastic service from all the staff. We were staying for a wedding and a huge thank you to Nikki for letting us access our room early so we could get changed into our wedding outfits! Our room was lovely - typically Cotswold style and the bed extremely comfortable. Lovely white large fluffy towels in our bedroom. The breakfast room was full of character too and we had wonderful service from Anthony and Laslo. Lastly, the garden outside was beautiful to sit and relax all within a stone throw of the centre of the village. Perfect!

For us, we know there are better value places a short drive away and will be returning to one of those in the future.

Central location within easy walking distance of pubs and restaurants.

Personally we found it old-fashioned, and not to our taste, however the hotel was busy and obviously liked by other guests. We felt the breakfast lacked quality with stewed mushrooms and beans, sausages burnt on one side and poached eggs cooked in overly vinegary water. Best part of breakfast was the pot of tea.
