The Royal

So much we enjoyed . The staff were lovely ( especially Brian ) . I think that was his name , we met every breakfast , but all the staff were welcoming . The food was just delicious, we ate there nearly every night . Loved the quirky decor throughout the building. Our room was small but compact with everything you needed , Including items for your dogs . The fact there was no charge either for your pets was welcoming because the saved money went to the car park which was conveniently positioned right opposite . The Royal is in a prime location.

There’s nothing we didn’t like . The only thing I would say and it seems to be a lot of boarding places do it and that is only provide clean cups , glasses , towels etc on request . This is fine but I much preferred how it use to be . When you came back to your room all refreshed . It was given straight away on request but I loved how it use to be , just done , it made it more going away special .

Excellent location and breakfast was exceptional. Superb Sausages, beautiful bacon, choice of eggs and various accompaniments and toast.

There was nothing to criticise.

Liked staying in an old fashion building but with it being modernised. Great shower. Given closest rooms to the stairs which helped my mom who uses a walking stick.

The mattress was a little uncomfortable. Bar stools not appropriate for breakfast for mom who has walking stick.

Great location, right by the train station. Our room was very clean the shower was one on the best ive seen. Fridge in the room. Different teas n coffee and hot chocolate plus biscuits. The bed very comfortable. And the breakfast was spot on. The staff are hard working and very polite n friendly. Id recommend this hotel to everyone ♥️
