Penzion Mayer was the perfect place to stay! If I visit Bled again, I will definitely go back. The value was fantastic, location was stellar, and the staff were so helpful and kind. Its a family run B&B and I really felt that; the breakfast was really amazing (they even provided breakfast to go for an early morning departure), they offered free laundry service because of my long stay, and easily provided the local Lake Bled tourist card. 10/10, would go back again-- highly recommend.

I don’t usually stay at bed and breakfast accommodations, but I was very pleased with my experience at this one. The staff were incredibly accommodating and available whenever I needed assistance. My room was just as expected for a B&B—comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was fantastic, and I really appreciated that they offered to cook eggs to order. Overall, my stay was excellent, and I would happily return.

The only downside during my stay was that there was some nearby construction, which made reaching the hotel a bit more challenging—though this was outside the hotel’s control. Also, the bed was actually two beds pushed together to form one, which wasn’t my favorite, but since I was informed about this before booking, I can’t fault them for it. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely book here again.

One of my absolutely favorite stays

Everything. Beautiful room with a balcony & bath. Great staff, it's a family owned business. Spoilt for choice at breakfast. Walking distance to the lake & castle. I'm an avid traveller, have stayed in places across the world, and I'd say this was up there on my list, i extended my stay here & was actually sad leaving this beautiful B&B. Special shout out to Tatiana, Eva, Grandma & the lovely cleaning staff, i don't think I've seen cleaner windows anywhere else.

Our stay was an absolute delight from start to finish.

Already from the outside we were impressed by the well tended garden and pretty alpine appearance of the building. Inside we were greeted by a very friendly member of the family who run this Penzion and we were allowed to leave our luggage as we had arrived early. Then the location - just 5 minutes down the steps to the lakeside and to some good restaurants. Later we discovered our very comfortable room, with its private balcony and superb shower. We slept really well. In the morning further delights awaited - the breakfast was varied, delicious and healthy. We were there for 3 nights and I think the message is clear - we would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Lake Bled.

Amazing comfortable stay!

Lovely little hotel one block back from the lake. Room 203 has an amazing view of the castle and sunset! Rooms have a lovely balcony. Beds extremely comfortable and modern well-equipped bathrooms. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a lift to upper floors. Best breakfast of the holiday and amazing friendly staff! Free parking if you have a rental car.

A great time in Lake Bled

This is excellent accommodation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable with a view of Bled Castle. Location was perfect about a 10 minute walk to Bled centre and the lake. I would have no hesitation in recommending Penzion Mayer.

The neighborhood was beautiful. Walking to restaurants and the lake were easy strolls. The flowers in the garden and the window boxes were lovely.Loved it all!

Great place to stay near Lake Bled

Great position 5 min walk from the lake. Family run penzion, beautifully clean. Outdoor space for sitting and eating or just resting. The breakfast is a vast array of everything you want and more. All served with smiles and conversation. The staff have many recommendations of trips, visits and restaurants in the locality.

A wonderful relaxing stay at Penzion Mayer. It was an absolute pleasure.

A charming Penzion with an easy walk to the lake. The property has very tasteful decor and a beautiful garden. It is very peaceful and lovely to hear the church bells from my room. The breakfast was outstanding with so much choice. The Penzion was spotlessly clean and I would definitely return.

The location is great; it's a short walk from the centre but also quiet and secluded enough that you can relax. The staff were also really friendly and helpful whenever I needed something ☺️

There were limited vegan options at breakfast. That said, this is mainly on me - I didn't raise this with the staff members (I didn't want to cause any hassle 😅) but I did see them provide gluten free options on demand so I probably should have just asked!

Fabulous BnB with lake views and incredible breakfast

One of the nicest guesthouses we have stayed in. The owner on reception was so welcoming and upgraded us to a room with balcony and view of the lake and castle. Whole place was clean and sparkling with a lovely new bathroom and a kettle to make tea and coffee. And the best bit was the following morning - one of the best breakfasts we have ever had on holiday! Fantastic selection of breads, cheeses, pastries and fruits, with eggs cooked to order. And it varied each day slightly. Homemade carrot cake one morning, fresh Kohlrabi from the garden with ricotta the next day, and homegrown rocket and feta salad. And homemade Bircher muesli. 10/10 for an incredible breakfast and a super stay!

Amazing location and homely experience

The location is amazing! It is only a 5 minute walk to the lake and also near a number of restaurants. Free parking is great as parking is rather difficult in Bled. The hosts were amazing and it appears to be a family owned business. Breakfast in the morning was included in the booking. Even the bicycles were free to rent.

The room only had a ceiling fan, but no air conditioning. It was entirely fine for the 2 days I was there, as the weather was not too hot. I can imagine not having AC being a problem if it gets above 80F.

The true care and hospitality we received from this wonderful family is simply exceptional. The entire building and grounds are kept in pristine condition and everyone clearly takes pride in their work. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had - nutritious, varied, locally sourced. Thank you for making our stay in Bled really special.

Cozy pension near Lake Bled

I like the location; one can walk to all the tourist sites. Parking at the lake is expensive, so the free parking provides another bonus. The room is spacious and the bed comfortable. The breakfast is excellent.

Regular (sized) shampoo and soap or body wash in shower would have been nice.

Fantastic family-run place

I loved staying at this family-run pension. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing with so many different options and eggs made to order. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and I loved having my own balcony. I'd definitely want to stay here again.

After a few misguided "took the wrong street" moves, I eventually discovered a much faster way to get to 'town'! Maybe it would have been helpful if more specific directions were provided.

The people working here are absolutely wonderful. Good sized room. Location is unreal - few minutes walk to Lake Bled, walking distance to several restaurants Breakfast is this phenomenal and fresh spread. They really go all out thinking of everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Top tier.

Very clean aside from an incident where the extra duvet had dried blood on it. It got really cold at night (radiator was turned off for the season maybe? but an extra duvet sufficed) Wi-fi would randomly cut out for long periods of time then ages later reconnect on it's own. It was generally always quiet - aside from when the room next door was having a romantic time and I could hear it all lol....

Amazing location, friendly staff in a family owned hotel.

Location is right in the centre of town and really close to the centre. As food can be quite difficult to get (no supermarkets in town and limited convenience stores), the paid breakfast really made this easier - I had oats, fruit, eggs and deli meats every morning with my Americano and it was a great start to the day.
