Apartamento Hiedra mid term mercado central

We stayed here as a group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Javier welcomed us at 10:30 p.m., showed us the apartment, and gave us some useful information about Valencia. The location is excellent, right in the city center. The apartment was clean, the beds were comfortable, the Wi-Fi and hot water worked well, we needed the AC only for few hours the afternoon and we appreciated the late check-out (12:00) and being able to leave our luggage until 4:00 p.m.

We received only 4 towels for 5 guests. The towels were old and worn, the bed linen was mismatched, and the windows and terraces were dusty. The apartment does not look as nice as it does in the Booking photos. The restaurant next door is excellent but noisy until around 1:00 a.m., and the sofa bed is not comfortable. Unfortunately, we had two unpleasant experiences. On our first night, at 12:15 a.m., we spent about 30 minutes locked outside because we had not been shown how to unlock the entrance door, and Javier’s phone was switched off. On the day of departure, Javier accused us of not taking out the rubbish (mainly water bottles) although no instructions had been given at check-in. He also sent us messages saying, “You had to ask me where to throw the garbage” and “I told you it’s not good to turn on the AC at night,” even though we never left the AC on overnight, not even on the whole day. He also complained that we had used the duvets. His messages felt unfair and accusatory, despite the apartment being left clean and tidy. This left us feeling uncomfortable and ended an otherwise enjoyable stay in Valencia on a disappointing note.

The apartment was very spacious, and had everything I needed to enjoy my stay, the washing machine was very helpful as I was there for a sporting event.

The cot for the baby was not clean, however, the owner brought the new cot within hours. He even accommodate us for few extra hours as our flight was later in the evening.He provided us with all the products needed for cleaning as well. I would recommend him again always. Gracias Javier.

Javier was a good host and very responsive.

Apartment needs a good deep cleaning and some maintenance work. Showers leak on the floor and the tiles are stained and dirty. Most of the dishes we pulled out from the kitchen cabinets were dirty. Apartment needs some overall maintenance. There was also an issue of some noise at night, pounding through the walls. To Javier's credit, he did try to find the source of the noise, but wasn't able to.
