Lovely light and airy villas off a pretty courtyard and just across the street from the beach

The villas were lovely and spacious, airy and clean. The courtyard was pretty and I liked that you could just cross the road and be at the sea.

Amazing stay in Amed at Sama Sama!

The rooms were so comfortable and spacious, great place by the beach to lounge and snorkel. The staff was all very kind too

This place is perfect. Location is a minute from beach and restaurants. Quiet lane for peaceful sleeping at night. Impeccable room and bedding. Bathroom súper clean. I loved the outdoor shower, so peaceful. Delicious breakfast served on amazing little balcony surrounded by flowers and trees, from which I could see sunset. Easy scooter hiring. But the best part are the people running the guesthouse, in particular Adil. He helped me when I was staying elsewhere and feeling stressed. He booked my driver, boat ticket, shuttle, everything. He made my trip so stress free and I can’t thank him enough. 🙏

A great stay

Simple but comfortable room with good AC and in a great location right on the beach road. Breakfast was tasty, we loved the omelette filled with fresh veggies! Good value for the area.

The perfect beach stay

Staff super friendly, great location in the middle of the two sides of Amed so you can walk to everything and right in the centre, gorgeous gardens and huge rooms. You can order a simple breakfast every morning that comes with fresh fruit and a drink and hire snorkelling gear for the day because the snorkelling right in front of the honestly is incredibleeee. Thanks for a great stay when I’m in Amed again I won’t be staying anywhere else.

Great location next to the beach

The location is awesome, right next to the beach. You can immediately jump in the sea and there’s already nice corals right in front of the accommodation. Beach beds are included, super nice.

Great location

Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Sama Sama restaurant is beachfront and the rooms are just across a small road from the restaurant. There is snorkeling from the beach directly in front of the restaurant, (so you don’t need to hire a boat to go snorkeling unless you want to). All of the staff are friendly and helpful and the cleanliness in the rooms is very good. Two hand towels are provided (in addition to the bath towels), which some places don’t provide. We will stay here again.

Very clean, comfy, quiet, friendly and nice stay in great location

Excellent location in Jemeluk bay. In particular, the rooms are in a pretty garden on the opposite side of the road from the restaurant, which makes them quiet! Also the room is pretty light, which I like. The bed is very big and comfy, with duvet for a good sleep with the AC. Mosquito net on the bed and mosquito curtain. Everything very clean, hot shower, shampoo and shower gel provided. Staff is overall super nice, breakfast is good, and there are loungers on the beach for the guests to enjoy!

Cheap & cheerful in a stunning area. Perfect for diving & snorkeling every day.

Accommodation Set back from the road in a lovely garden. Able to eat breakfast right on the beach each morning. Snorkel hire - the snorkelling is amazing right off the beach ! Seemed liked one of the nicer warungs in this area to eat in the evenings.

Only a blind between the two verandahs & our neighbour decided to sleep out on her verandah so we felt like we couldn’t really sit out there. Linen needs a refresh. Bathroom a little smelly & outdated- but understandable as very reasonably priced. Too far to walk to the main area so need a scooter- there are a few taxis around.

Garden haven right in Jemeluk

It is like a little Haven just off the main road. I enjoyed coming back and entering the garden every time! The view from the 2nd floor rooms is incredibly beautiful. I had a very blissful 4 days here. Perfect for a solo traveller 😍

The WiFi can be a bit patchy. The 2nd floor rooms can be quite noisy from bars/traffic but it’s worth it for the view. Room would be small for a couple.

5 Peaceful Days in Amed

I truly enjoyed my stay here, despite it being located in small fishing town Amed, the cleanliness of the hotel is tip top! Really impressed by it. The room is pretty standard layout, no fancy outdoor shower (but that makes it bug-free) but I liked it that it has balcony where you can chill with the view of the bay. The restaurant is just across the hotel where you'll get your breakfast by the beach, very serene in the morning. Location is perfect as it's not too far from the busy area of Amed but still gives you peaceful sleep at night. Staffs were really friendly and always greet me with a warm smile.

Best time in Bali!

I was looking for an area with an easy access to snorkel in Bali. I didn't want to go on snorkeling trips. Read about Jemeluk Beach and a friend mentioned Sama Sama Amed area has the best house reel and beautiful marine life to explore, and she's right! Slept in family room which could easily host 4 to 5 people. Clean! That's important. Comes with breakfast - simple but nice. I had an amazing time there and will definitely come back!

Good location close to freediving activities and best part of the bay, although only a few minutes away from most things in Amed by scooter. Nice big room with all the things you need. Big bed. Storage. Outside area to put wet things etc.

Bed very hard - not comfortable. Pillows not great - had to ask for some different ones, which they kindly supplied. Little better. No view from our particular room and no windows except the door - but there are other rooms with views of the garden on the property. Restaurant really not great. Very basic and bland breakfast and food in general. Shame, because it’s a great spot on the beach. It could be a really great location for a nice restaurant. Maybe something rather could consider developing. I didn’t even take the included breakfast.

What a lovely place to stay!

Great Location, Cafe on beachfront with loungers and umbrellas and couple of small shade trees. You can order food drinks and they bring down to you. Snorkling equip for 50k per day, good snorkeling right out the front and on other side of bay. Food and juices very good. Accomodation across the road, we had delux room with fridge. Lovely well cared for garden. Beautiful four poster bed with mosquito nets on bed as well as door curtains but didn’t see any mossies while we were there. Bed comfortable. timber armoire that fitted my whole suitcase. Large verandah with day bed and chairs, drying rack. Staff exceptional. 900meter walk to Rimba Cafe where you can get espresso etc.

Not my most relaxing or comfortable stay

Restaurant had nice food and it being right on the beach was very nice. Good place to work. Good wifi. Breakfast was nice but small portions. Staff was very friendly

Right on the main road with my room being right next to it, I could hear the traffic very loudly. Walls are thin so I could hear kids yelling in the rooms next to me. The light was white and unpleasant in my room. No privacy as it looks right out on the main entrance. Bathroom outdated and a tad dirty. Kids and others begging while you’re eating in the restaurant, constantly.

Good for short stay

The location of the accommodation was good. Also the bed was comfortable. The breakfast that was offered was simple but nice to have.

We didn’t like the bathroom. It had a weird smell, also the shower was only hot for 1 minute and the shower head was broken. The rooms also didn’t get cleaned, only if you asked for it. The accommodation didn’t have a water tank to fill your water bottle. You had to buy a bottle at the reception.

It was really clean and pretty. The staff were were really nice and discreet at the same time. Always cleaning and watering the garden. The beach was just accros the little road. There was 3 snorkeling spots, one just in front with status in meditation poses. One on the right side , like 2 minutes walk until the end of the bay where is the underwater old Post Office. The other one on the left side just after the point. I actually connected the snorkeling points but that is a lot, only for experienced divers and swimmers. The food at their restaurant was great too.

Well, since I booked the cheapest room, it was by the road, so I could hear the cars and motos passing by during the day and not at night. Also couldn't see the sky from my room, but nice sitting open room and on top mini temples for the gods. So I m really not complaining. Only mentioning it for those who need an open space. It was truly pretty.

Wonderful and relaxed time in Amed, great location and atmosphere.

Solo female, 35. I recommend at least three nights, maybe more for better balance of relaxing and adventuring. I found Sama Sama to be a good location and I loved Amed (this was my first time to Bali and found the area chill and genuine). I liked walking up the hill to a different restaurant each night for sunset and views. And enjoyed coming home to my room after adventures. It’s quiet. A few other solo travellers around and you can use apps to make friends! Sama Sama’s restaurant and lounges are on the beach side and across the road is the accommodation. As a guest, you get access to the lounges. I had a nice day chilling on the beach lounges, eating food and snorkelling directly on the beach in front. There’s more snorkelling too if you swim right, to the other side of the beach. You do get people trying to sell you stuff. It’s a little difficult to get around if you don’t know how to scooter. There are plenty of food establishments in walking distance but it gets a bit tiring after a while. Amed is a good place to scooter as it is not busy compared to the cities and the ocean views are amazing if you want to get out and just go for a ride and take in the sights. If you can get a scooter that is best but you can also pick up lifts if you want (walk and look interested in the passing traffic). The food is good at Sama Sama, and if you go out I recommend going to Rimba and Blue Earth. Thanks for a great stay!
