House on the beach

You can't imagine how close you are to the sea! snorkeling with turtles, tropical fish & a beautiful coral reef straight out the front. The homestay has everything you need, I found it very comfortable & well run. There are numerous excellent Warungs & a supermarket close by & a 10 min walk to Jemeluk Bay for more snorkeling.

It's a bit tricky to get the hot & cold water in the shower to mix. Really needs more shade out the front - there used to be blinds? ....

Simple cost stay at the beachfront.

Very cosy and quiet place. Perfect beachfront location , big and clean room, sitting area indoor and outdoor on a small terrace. Bathroom is in nature concept design- love it. Quiet part of the beachfront - no loud beachfront warungs or action around. Sound of splashing waves - all you can hear at night

It would be nice to have simple fleece blanket for extra warmth at night if sleep with AC. . The air inside the room can be stuffy with is hot and humid, if AC is off. But if to run AC at night, you will be cold just under thing sheet. Bring your pyjama with - if prefer to sleep in a cool room.

Perfect location, perfect stay, perfect people

I stayed in one of the rooms directly in front of the sea. It's SO close! :) Your private patio has a BED so you can just lie there and watch and listen all day with a cool breeze :) The room itself had EXCELLENT airconditioning and was large and comfortable. Fridge in the room. Every day they leave you a large thermos of hot water to make tea and coffee throughout the day for yourself. There is also a shared patio if you wish to engage with the family or the other guests, and two loungers outside Breakfast was huge: and delicious, I usually had to save the fruit platter for later! omelet and toast, fruit platter, and a perfectly cooked banana pancake! The family is full of smiles and greetings, the nicest family I have stayed with. So much, I came back after my other homestay was over. This part of Amed is really well situated; the water is clean and clear and you can snorkel and swim right in front of the homestay. There is also a bar two minute walk away with nightly live music, and lots of warungs steps from the property. I also arranged a snorkeling trip with the family, they charge fair prices for everything! Trust in them and everything they suggest. You get a lot for your money here. One small issue, which was not a problem for me at all; much like a lot of this part of Bali, they are currently (March 12 2025) doing construction only during the day next door. I actually liked it, it gave me a feeling that I was in the real Bali, and that is what I want from a homestay. I am only saying this because if you know it will bother you, I would rather you stay somewhere else and check and not give my sweet family a bad review for something that is not their fault. :)

The shower is too hot or no pressure. Needs adjusting perhaps. It’s not a place to sleep in with roosters on one side and loud noise of machines pulling fisher boats in early morning! I loved that it’s in the local scene tho and wake up early anyway!

We had a great stay in Amed and really enjoy Alur homestay. Room was directly on the beach, Made and his family were really nice and helpful during ou stay. The location is perfect to discover the different snorkeling spot in Amed but also to discover the different the land, drive in the rice fields… We also went fishing with Made family and we’re able to taste fresh fish in the homestay! Great memories in that place.

Exceptional

Everything was perfect at Alur Homestay. Our host Wayan was a real sunshine and welcomed us warmly with a refreshing banana juice. The location is on the beach therefore you cannot dream of a better sea view in the morning. Breakfast is served at the time that suits you and is simple and delicious. The room is brand new and super clean. With Aircon, towels, soap and hot water shower. You don’t need anything else in paradise. Hopefully we’ll be back soon.

The property is new, everything is super clean! No mould, smells, damp or dirt anywhere, the place is spotless and one of the cleanest places we’ve stayed on Bali. Didn’t even see one ant or bug inside the room 😅 Location is great, right on the beachfront with the sound of waves all day and night and the best cafes/warungs are all within 5/10 minute drive via scooter. The breakfast is great! (toast, eggs, fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee). Owners are a lovely family, communication was great, room is cleaned daily if you like and anything we needed/asked was given or answered. 100% recommend this place if coming to Amed or surrounding areas, we will be back for sure!
