Nice Foyer shame about the rooms - would not recommend

Room size was good

After a disturbed night's sleep on our first night due to noisy people next door, after numerous calls to reception, the police eventually evicted the occupants of the next door room at around 1:40 am, when we complained the next morning, the hotel offered us a drink as recompense - absolutely derisory, as we'd booked through booking.com we were told to contact them for a partial refund for the affected night - booking.com eventually offered us £19. The room was rated as Superior but the shower and bathroom curtains had black mould, the windows were covered in dead insects and the corridor to the room was definitely due a renovation.

The worst hotel and leisure Centre that I’ve been to

It was awful I will not be returning We noticed in the way to our room first day 2 empty glasses outside rooms they were there for 2 days . The pool area was discussing either rusty seating around rge oool , management walking around pool to fix the jacuzzi in shoes and then workmen coming in with shoes on no covers over their shoes. It was disgusting. No one for the whole three days cleaned the pool area that we see no one was checking on anything there was no alarm called in the steam room, the list could go on and on.

The layout of the reception was the bar area as well, which did not work at all

The other guest were very friendly. Steam room was great All areas was very clean. Rooms were very nice, plenty of hot water and heating Enjoyed a hot bath

The jacuzzi could have been better, it works but wasn't that great. The first day breakfast was okay, but next day breakfast was very good.

TV did not work, was moved to another Room. The radiator did not work properly was cold in the new room also was making a lot of gurgling noise, the bathroom was lovely and warm with that radiator worked 😃

Not as pleasant as the first one .

The location

The room we were given was at the back of the hotel, for the Money that we paid for the 2 nights at the end of January and the room that we got was not great value , we have stayed here before we stayed in a 4 poster with sofa , I was recovering from a knee replacement surgery so it was a supposed to be a relaxing break . The second night there was no hot water in the bath or the shower , we called the reception the manager came up and could only offer to move us to a downgrade room or to use of another bathroom in a room nearby, we chose the other room as we were leaving the following morning. Good job be brought our robes when we checked out I went to pay my room service bill , I was told by the receptionist we had nothing to pay and the £50 deposit would be refunded . After 2 weeks we still have not got it . To pay £376 for a room in January, to have a room with barely any views of the beautiful gardens and a view of the industry bins and broken furniture is bad and not appealing I’m so disappointed

Most romantic Setting

We had the best room in the manor house, so comfortable and cosy beautiful bed and even with the extras paid for they went the extra mile to present it all perfectly

No hot water in the shower but gave us a complimentary breakfast to make up for it as stated we had the best room already so couldnt move to anywhere near as regal.

Room I booked was nothing like room I got! Hotel room & stairways dated and rundown. Breakfast poor, warm yogurt, they ran out of eggs, not fruit salad left, no fresh fruit, cheap bread.

The bed was comfortable

The restaurant was a strange set up behind a wall in reception. The bar was part of reception. The breakfast was limited and tasty bad. Very poor quality. The swimming pool wasn’t attractive. A woman was cleaning the gents changing rooms and so I couldn’t shower or change. This would never be allowed if it were a man cleaning the ladies. There was a man sat down doing nothing and not friendly at the gym reception who could have clean the gents. I’m livid about there being a women in there!!! There were also a group/gang of teenagers in the changing room who were looking like stealing or up to something. What I dislike the most was the price of £96 for what is less than a three star hotel. I would have preferred staying at home and I wish I had, I could have spent the £96 on my weeks shopping.

Wouldn’t stay again

Lighting v poor in reception couldn’t even see to sign the check in form to sign it, it was so dark. Quilt wasn’t big enough. Buffet Breakfast was warm. I’ve stayed here 30+ times before Covid and was always impressed but sadly would never return again as the place is not as good.

Didn’t deliver as expected. Disappointing stay….unlikely to visit again.

The hotel itself was very picturesque. The weather was quite poor but the grounds looked incredible and would be best experienced in warmer weather. The manor room was a good size with table and a couple of chairs and a decent size tv.. The bath was very small but bathroom was clean.

The large double bed in the room were 2 beds put together which is common in hotels I have been to but this one was not secured properly so keep separating. I Had to keep pushing it back together which made the sleep not very comfortable. The refrigerator in the room did not work and there was an old smell in the room suggesting the room was locked up for some time. There were cobwebs in the corners and the cups provided in the room were stained with what appeared to be coffee/tea from previous usage. The kettle was also dusty. Had to wash them myself before using. The staff were polite but not warm or welcoming. My room key didn’t work after going out and coming back so had to go to reception and the staff didn’t even apologise for that. Just changed them. Also when I requested ice from the bar, it felt like I was an inconvenience. This was my first time visiting this hotel but didn’t receive service expected for the price they are charging. Left feeling disappointed.

Short and nothing would draw me back to book again

Bland Hotel, shame as the building in its original condition could be so much more. They have a poor effort of brickwork detail surrounding a crappy palm tree near the entrance... embarrassing it is not impressing anyone.. the brick layer should be sacked... Do the owners ever visit and look at the place... it could be so much more, people pay for luxury, nice surroundings, professional staff and attention to detail.. None of which is here at present

The hotel looks like it’s falling apart, the rooms are run down in a poor condition. I even moved rooms due to how dark dingey the first room was with peeling wall paper flickering lights. The hallways are a mess and the gym was a terrible experience, 5 different leaks and pools of water on the floor, it was dirty, smelly, falling apart. It was shocking to be honest I’ve never seen a gym in such a poor state

Not clean had to move rooms , heaters that arent pat tested, not taking dietary requirements into account, everything needs a clean and better maintence. Poor experience and staff that weren't surprised when the problems where brought although thats what usually happens.

very clean, liked the pool

i felt ignored in the dining room after i ate my main course. my plate was not cleared, or my dessert order taken. after 10 mins i tried to catch someones attention, but no staff were looking in my vicinity. In the end, after 15 mins i went to pay at the till, i was not asked if everything was ok, nor even greeted with a smile, or a hello. it was not busy. food was fine, although i was not informed of what was not available on the menu when sitting down, and both i and several other diners chose the one item that was no longer on the menu. simple to tell us that when seating us. also the music from the gym is very loud, and could be heard very clearly in the corridor. to the bedrooms. Fortunately, I was at the other end of the corridor, and so it wasn't loud once I shut the door, but I could hear it, until it was switched off quite late, around 10.30pm.

Rubbish Christmas party

We were there for our works Christmas Party. The bedroom was cold, I had to use the plug in heater. The room heater was all rusty and didn’t work. The room was not that clean. The food at the party was basic, plates were cold so the food didn’t stay warm. The staff were very miserable and seemed overworked, but tables weren’t cleared until after the desserts so dirty dinner plates were on tables whilst eating dessert. Overall very poor

nice room but silly issues for a place like this

Room was clean and tidy staff on the whole were friendly and helpful. breakfast was good quality. was only in the room for a few hours so not much else to say. manager was helpful with issue regarding tv not working.

long queue to check in and for a long time only one receptionist checking in, 2 other members of staff behind the counter but didnt acknowledge anyone for a long time. then we were informed we were on the top floor and the lift was broken- no one even enquired as to if we could get our bags upstairs ourself. tv didnt work in our room, arial was broken and cable had been removed. this would grate in a £50 b&b but really shouldnt be happening in a £200 a night hotel. lighting was mounted at an angle in the ceiling which meant one of only two bedroom lights shone straight at the top of the bathroom door effectively leaving you with just one light in the room- my wife struggled to get herself ready in such dim lighting.

Pleasant stay

Stayed here on a few occasions. Staff are helpful, location is good, room is clean, breakfast was great. The gym is great with high tech machines.

Disappointed with the comfort of the beds. Pillows are terrible… the swimming pool & steam all need a major upgrade (jacuzzi jets don’t work) the pool was cold and cracked tiles. The steam room needs updating.

I was placed in the basement room, next to some noisy fitness room, close to some plant room and some storage rooms where the staff were collecting something from very early hours.Room itself was aged and smelling of dump. Apparently they had no other rooms to relocate me. Never again I’d stay here
