Quirky and Friendly

It is a little eccentric but the staff are really kind the other guests are friendly and overall I think it is amazing value for money.

Good location for Stansted Airport and very nice member of the staff, but facilities not very good

Room and bed were OK.

Living room, kitchen and toilet were creepy. On the lower beds, sheets and pillows were new, but on the higher ones, less visible, they were older and dirtier.

Value for money

It's just a bed not so far from Stansted airport at low price. Linen where clean and the bed comfortable. It's possible to park not so far away. The staff is kind.

Value for money is good just for few sleep hours. I would expect just little bit less stuff around and better toilets.

Don‘t book there. Bed bugs and smell of urine!!

It‘s Green there and you’re not too far from the bus station.

I had bed bugs and I’ve been completely bitten. All over my body. Also, my room smelled horribly like urine. I don’t know where all these good reviews come from, but I beg everyone to not book there.

Desperate for some huge cleaning and sprucing up!

Location was good, quiet environment and close enough to the hospital.

Very unkempt, clutter in reception and the corridors, very heavy odour, not pleased at all, I ended making a last minute booking elsewhere that night and walked away, I just couldn’t imagine a night in there. Sorry !

Easy to check-in… and the person who attended me was friendly.

If you don’t have a car, don’t go there, it’s very far, I would overall recommend to avoid the Stanstead Airport.

I was expecting the worse with the rep of the town and it being a hostel but the staff were lovely friendly.. welcoming..helpful,, jolly and funny,, Richard refunded me some 💰 to staying the the single instead of wasting a Dbl for someone else,, one of the guests made sure we were able to find everything,, we had a nice chat with Johnathan,, it's nice for people to make you feel comfortable and can assure safety,, the rooms were lovely and warm,, their were separate bathrooms with ✋ cream,, there was a living room,, a dining area,, kitchen and the places come with meals and snacks you could buy if needee

On arrival we had to ring the hostel up because of no answer.. did feel like the owner and their son looks down on people.. they did over charged us, slightly, where they don't advertise the single room online,, it's loud and comes with no towels,, where having to walk from the bathroom not dry,, without anything on your feet is unsanitary and likely to catch colds where they don't hoover the rooms,, this can't be ✅ when you have backpacks from all over the world coming through their doors..

Cheap and ok hostel close to stansted.

Good and cheap room and nice staff. With Stansted Express you reach this hostel soon.

The diningroom/livingroom didn't smell fresh. It was full of sofas and things, which makes it a difficult place to clean, I guess.

The Closest Place to Being "Home"

The location is actually very fascinating. The location is almost dead center of the city. The coolest part is that this puts H.I.H. inside the city's central park. You can walk 5 minutes or less and enjoy everything the park offers. Right next door is great restaurant with outside dining along with bar. The fish and chip were great 👍 The owner and manager were great, plus there's a wonderful backyard area to go and hang out. Jeez, I have visited many hostels, this place reminded me more of home than any other. What a gem of a find. Even getting to the train station was only 15-20 minute walk.

Maybe a little hard to find, don't take a taxi they are bloody expensive. The train or bus is a better option.

staff was amazing, I came late from hospital after long day , and I made my booking on the way , the team was awesome at the reception to check me in even without looking to my booking on the website, I also been upgraded to better room . I didn’t got a chance to ask about there name’s really but I will give 5 star to them

With regards to value for money paid its good, but I think there is still room for more improvement.

The staff and guests were very friendly and receptive and the kitchen quite big.

The bunk beds were a bit low for tall persons, the bathing compartment in the bathroom small, wished its a bit bigger to allow room for free movement. There should be more heaters in the rooms.

I liked the location very central for everything I had to do based next to the lovely park and near all facilities very comfy beds warm and clean room, and my own key very easy access parking nearby

nothing was wrong at all in the accommodation, very welcoming and left to your own devices maybe parking under a tree wasn't a good idea there were some big birds in that tree

Great, would come back to stay again if I have another layover around the London Stansted area

Great location, very easy to catch a bus from the London Stansted Airport to a bus stop that's a only a 5 minute walk from the hostel. Hostel is surrounded by lovely green parks, and isn't far from anything you might need - a supermarket, places to buy your electronics, cafes/restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and hospitable.

On the first night the light in the ladies' shower wasn't working, however this was quickly fixed on the second day that I was there.

Suitable place for me to stop overnight for 3 nights, no problems.

Pub next door, quiet area in Harlow's town park, railway station just 10mins walk. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly owner/staff, no nonsense. I would stay again.

Some peculiar Middle Eastern types hanging around the hostel, one of them telling me on arrival that the hostel was full and that I should find somewhere else. The hostel wasn't full, and my booking (through Booking.com) had gone through and was still valid.
