Breakfast was good, location was Great, noise level from the kitchen above us was a bit much and unfortunately no view from the rooms, but from the roof top was exceptional.
The plugs in the rooms was disappointing as there was only one 2 point plug with usb and it was used for the tv, so you could not charge devices by the bed or anywhere with out unplugging the tv. the fridge is also just a drinks fridge so could not properly keep things for our daughter cold.

Central to Seapoint activities without the street noise as it is set back on a side road. Easy to walk in all directions including the Waterfront if so inclined. Lovely views from the roof top, albeit a rather tight and crowded space. Breakfast restaurant was cosy and well supplied. Parking in the basement was really good
Noise from patrons and staff from the rooftop restaurant until at least 11pm, often later. The second bedroom adjoining the single bathroom in the suites didn't work for us... maybe if you have little kids? İn any case it remains hot and stuffy without a fan, and anyone sharing the suite has to pass through to access the bathroom. Single lift for the building, shared by guests, staff, and Skye Bar patrons!

We waited 45 minutes for our room upon check-in. No drinks offered whilst waiting. We asked numerous times for updates, as none were offered. Service on the Skye Deck was slow, as we needed to check on our order numerous times. We had to do the same when asking for the bill. The TV in our room didn't work, even when following the instructions - not that this bothered us much. The one bedside lamp didn't work properly, so my wife couldn't charge her mobile. There was no alternative option available in the room.

We checked out after 1 night due to the issues below.
Do not stay here in summer if you value sleep.
We booked a "Deluxe Suite" for 3 nights but were forced to check out after the first night because the room was uninhabitable for us and our 5-month-old baby.
1. Misleading Advertising: The listing promises "Air Conditioning," but the hotel hides behind a technicality. Management confirmed in writing that "the description does not specify that the air conditioning is located in the bedroom". The unit is only in the lounge. The bedroom was tiny and stiflingly hot.
2. Poor Quality & Comfort: The pillows provided were old and lumpy, requiring us to ask for replacements immediately. Additionally, the bedroom was too small to fit a cot properly, making it impractical for a family despite the "Suite" listing.
3. Dishonest Management Response: We requested a refund for the 2 unused nights. The hotel refused, claiming they "were not given the opportunity to address the matters". This is objectively false. I messaged the hotel at 01:02 AM regarding the heat and pillows and spoke to the Duty Manager, Shaun, directly at checkout.
They are currently holding our money for nights we did not stay, for a room that did not match the description.

Good location in Sea Point - easy access to all areas on foot or Uber.
Our room ended up as one without the kitchen area - which was perfect for our stay.
Staff were wonderful. Everyone was exceptionally helpful, cheerful, polite and friendly. Especially Lucia and Tiaan.
We had a special Black Friday offer, which made this properly more affordable and better value.
There was a smell of cooking meat in the first room we had, which was rectified by moving us.

The location is a few meters from the promenade & the red hop on/off tour bus route. The staff was very friendly and we felt right at home. Had the most delicious pork belly with fries. The breakfast needs a bit of work -the bacon & sausages were dry
Bedroom/bathroom is really tiny - all the space taken up by living room & kitchen. The cleanliness of the rooms needs some work. We had two rooms & both were not up to standard when we checked in. The housekeeping manager was very kind & our issues were rectified. Unfortunately the hotel is between high buildings so you will not get a view of the ocean/anything at all except walls on lower floors.

The fact that there was parking available and the size of the room.
I had to inform the front desk that the area directly behind the headboard had not been cleaned or dusted for months. The shower door opened inwards for some reason. The basin plug could not not close and there one could not fill the basin to shave. The internet kept on going down and I had to get a new code on a daily basis. The fact that there is no DSTV in a four star hotel is laughable. Who wants to watch Youtube all the time. Our room 601 was the nearest to the Skybar where a private function was held on the Saturday night. This was ridiculous. The noise and music was terrible. It seems the hotel does not think about the paying clients.

The staff at the Front desk were well mannered.
We had booked for 7 nights. We checked in on Sunday afternoon in a very noisy lobby. We were allocated a room with a bedroom and separate kitchen/living area. When i was unpacking i started with the larger cupboard. Since there was not enough shelves, i opened the other door i was shocked to see a Geyser! In the bedroom!! I went down to the reception to tell them i am not comfortable to sleep there. They moved me to another floor, so i had to re pack everything again and was moved to a larger room with a large bathroom and separate room/ living, there was no kitchen, i said i didn’t mind as i had no intention of cooking. During the whole night we hardly slept with the noise from the fridge/ AC and all the noise from other rooms above, below and next to us. We could hear the bathroom doors from the next rooms opening and closing, people walking, moving furnitures or their suitcases whole night! I went down to the reception around midnight to tell them that i desperately want to sleep but unfortunately nothing changed although they said they will see what they can do. I spent the rest of the night on booking.com to find another place to move as i knew i couldn’t stay there another night! Breakfast in the morning was as the establishment was, cheap supermarket croissants, cupcakes and tarts…we went up to pack then informed the lady at the reception that we are going out to check other places to move before booking so that we do not get another bad surprise! She was very kind and apologized.. we checked another apartment in Green Point then went to southern sun cape sun. We checked the room and found the price worth it although the room was old. We came back to finish packing and carried all our luggage to the lobby to give back the room key. The GM TIAAN came to meet us, he was extremely rude and arrogant and said that it wasn’t reason enough for us not to stay back and wanted to move us again to another room!

I booked with breakfast but was charged extra R340 for breakfast for a day then they put few things in rooms for consumption and I was charged R500 when checking in then as check l was charged R1400 for eating those food and beverage ,Now they send me email again that l owed them money for extras l don’t know which extras now

This was our 3 rd stay at the Hyde but was the worst. They booked us in a room and they knew the air-con was not working. The food in the London bistro was not good. Had a mussel starter, but most of the shells were empty. The beef and mash were serve cold. Did not receive my 20% discount on drinks and food.

Loved the suite we booked, was super comfy and luxurious!! Loved the fact that there is underground parking available to guests. Breakfast was ample and offered something for everyone, dinner dessert surprise for hubbies birthday was so thoughtful at The London Road Bistro in house restaurant. Staff really attended to us so well while we dined, evening and morning.

Noise pollution at night and the condition of the bathroom, it not well maintained. The mini bar system is not well oiled, it has too many loopholes and inconvenience guests when inventory is done at checkout with daily tracking by both the guest and hotel staff. Mini bar stock up must be optional not compulsory
