Elegant Afro-chic Sea Point Boutique Guesthouse

This guesthouse run by Joe and his team in the middle of Sea Point on High Level Road is an hidden gem. The location, the decor, the pool area not to mention the rooms have an understated, quiet yet elegant Afro-chic inspired ambience that lures you inland keeps you fascinated. Joe and Lebo are exceptional hosts and service oriented. Friendly, competent, charming but discreet. The rooms are beautifully decorated with superb fittings that make you want to go home and copy-paste the design. The location is brilliant: walk it, Uber it, go with the MyCiti Bus. And if you know Sea Point, you will appreciate the location and setting. If quiet and peaceful yet elegant understated charm is your thing, I recommend Mountview from the bottom of my heart. Thank you Joe and Lebo for sharing your beautiful home with us and making us feel valued in this wonderful part of Cape Town.

Wonderful oasis in central location

Beautiful property, great facilities, lovely breakfast and wonderful staff. The location is spot on & felt very safe. Rooms compact but had everything we needed, and a great shower!

I had a really enjoyable week at Mountview. Joe and his team were so friendly and very helpful throughout.

Mountview is a very stylish guest house with a welcoming, bright and relaxed atmosphere. My room was immaculate with a large comfortable bed and stunning en-suite shower room. The outdoor space is a little tight but has a small pool and some nice outside seating areas. Easy access to lots of restaurants and cafes. Walking distance to the waterfront and lovely nearby beaches.

The automatic lights in the en-suite loo and shower have a mind of their own. Even when not in the shower room, constantly turning on and off? 😵‍💫

I will be back for sure!

Has a hot tub, lovely pool area, beautiful reception, extremely clean room and was able to settle in immediately upon arrival. Having both a ceiling fan and aircon is a nice touch for someone like me who gets hot very easily! Host and housekeeper were both wonderful, responsive, super friendly. Joe even let me check in much earlier than expected which was a huge bonus.

The bathroom in my room has motion sensor lights (that cannot be manually turned off) that were overly sensitive on the first night. Luckily, Joe was able to fix it the next day but I would still prefer manual switches. A very minor point but if you enjoy sleeping in, bring an eye mask as the daylight does seep through the bathroom door as it doesn't close flush - however I am sure Joe can find a clever way to solve that problem. Neither of these problems are major and probably won't affect 95% of other travellers so I'm still happy to give a 10

Stylish boutique stay !

Such a beautifully designed, stylish place! Comfortable rooms with all the facilities you could wish for. General area is stunning , and the outdoor little pool and surrounding area became our little haven after full day of exploration and trips , before getting ready for dinner. The owner, Joe, was very attentive to any detail, and the other staff were brilliant- especially Lebu ! Breakfast was lovely a La carte affair - and the whole experience was even more precious since there is only 6 guest rooms- some days you do not see other guests at all and feel very private and privileged.

Cozy and comfortable Guesthouse in Cape Town

We had a great stay in the beautiful guest house room. The beds were really comfortable, the Gousthouse and Pool area are lovely designed! Our host was really nice and helpful, even though we had overlooked the checkin hours. Parking the car was easy along the road.

Just what we needed.

In the heart of Sea Point, this guest house is a little gem. Private pool and Jacuzzi. Very relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed every bit of stay and will certainly return.

That we only stayed 1 night. Lol, we could definitely have done with a longer stay.

The owner of the guest house is very welcoming and helps you to book activities in Cape town. The room had everything you needed. Also the location of the guest house is good, near the restaurants!
