Short stay for marathon

The staff and owner are friendly and approachable. The atmosphere is relaxed. The property is steeped in history. The walls are covered in artworks and old maps. There is a communal kitchen stocked with breakfast foods.

Amenities are good and functional, but not modern.

There were mosquitoes and ants in the room. There were no screens in the windows and the security bars had a large amount of space between the bars which didn’t seem very safe. You could everything going on in the hallways outside the room and outside

Very dirty and not well maintained. I chose to lose my money and move to another property rather than stay.

It was a great location - which is why I chose it. From the outside it looked very nice, and the lobby was well decorated.

The initial room I booked (the garden suite) was just gross. Stains on the pillowcases and towels and very dusty. The light switches and doorknobs etc looked like they had never been wiped down. It was a very hot day so I asked for a fan - the one I received was beyond gross dirty. The manager suggested I sleep with door open and just the security gate latched - that felt super unsafe and mosquitoes were flying in. When I mentioned this the manager said not to worry - they didn’t carry diseases like the ones up north. When I said even with that I didn’t wan to get all bit up she said the fan would blow them off. When I said that wasn’t going to work she offered to move me into the main house in a room less expensive than the one I had booked but I said that was ok. Again, the room was scuzzy and even had bloody smashed mosquitoes on the wall. When she pulled the chain to the ceiling fan it fell of so I couldn’t use the light and she said I could get by with the small dim bedside lamp. And again, with no screens or bars on the windows I was facingng the bug/ security issue again. I decided to just forfeit my money and changed to another property.

Quaint, lovely guest house with lots of character, superb value for two people

Superb location, a short walk up/down to the main road but far enough that you're away from all the traffic. It's a beautiful guest house, with a lovely reception area, kitchen for self-catering, and Jan the host is a really great guy with lots of knowledge about the area. Also I love the fact there are two pianos in the living room for any musicians - it has a really homely feel. In the evenings it is extremely quiet and you can fall asleep very easily. The price is superb if you are sharing - I was a solo traveller and still found this to be one of the cheaper rooms, but if you are able to share with someone else (there are two single beds in the room) then I think it's got to be the best value place in Sea Point.

My room was on the ground floor near the shared bathroom and garden. As the window is fairly old and doesn't shut snugly, I could hear people talking, using the shared bathroom or construction going on in the morning - I like to sleep in so was a bit disruptive at times, but for early risers this is a non-issue so I will not mark down for this. Shower door wouldn't close easily - Jan did his best to fix but it still wasn't perfect and I had to shower with the door slightly ajar and use a bit of strength to move it properly. The bathroom itself is quite small, and the toilet can be a bit uncomfortable to squeeze onto - and I'm not a particularly big guy. Finally, although this is not an issue with the property per se, I was surprised with how expensive the laundry was. The housekeeper told me it was ZAR60 for the load and then "extra" for the ironing, but I didn't expect the total to be ZAR175, my fault for not asking the final price but was a bit of a surprise - just an FYI for other travellers if you are offered laundry service as you can get 5kg done at the nearby 24 hour laundry place for a similar price.

This Guesthouse is so charming, very clean and safe. The location is perfect and the staff make you feel at home always. I don't need to continue looking for accommodations on my next visit to CT, Stonehurst Guesthouse is my unique option from now. 100% recommended, there are single rooms, rooms for a small group and even apartments for a family, with fridge, microwave, full equipped.

Хорошее расположение, хороший район. Очень хороший и душевный хозяин который живет в этом же доме и персонал отличный. Дом тихий. В целом все было. Кофе, сливки сухие, вода бесперебойно и в любом количестве. Старинный такой особняк, в коробом есть классный холл и пианино которое звучало просто потрясающий.

Объект старый, все очень старое или можно сказать винтажное. Реально мы когда заехали первое впечатление было не очень. Прям мы в шоке немного были от неожиданности, что все прям древнее. Но цена самая низкая была в этом районе, по этому мы в целом привыкли.
